Chapter Twenty Three
"What happened?!" Sir Seto exclaimed when General Sky came through the tent flaps and down the ladder, still holding the limp girl in his arms.
"The child was frightened, and ran into the woods. The monsters attacked her."
"And you went in to get her?" Seto asked as he rummaged through a chest looking for some wool.
"Yes." Sky laid TheSnow Girl on the newly made bed, and pulled the covers over her.
"Maybe the army life isn't for the child." Seto handed the General a potion.
"You call her a child. She's no more older then you, Seto." He held her head up and tilted the bottle into her mouth. "And in any case, I have seen her fight. It was burry, yes, but I saw her when she's determined to take down enemy. With a little push, she can be exactly what this army needs." He handed the empty bottle back to the sorcerer, and laid the girls head back down on the pillow, careful not to touch her healing wound.
He herd whimpering.
"What on Earth?" He turned around.
There beside the ladder stood a dog.
It walked to The Snow Girl's bed.
"Oh JOY!" Sir Seto grumbled. "Another friend to the collection."
The General looked at the sorcerer in confusion, but then spun in the direction of the sound of breaking glass.
A little kitten was knocking over bottles on Seto's work bench.
"I swear I'm going to turn you into a hat!" Seto said as he plucked the kitten off the work bench. He dropped in on the ground, where it then walked to Sky's feet.
It purred as it rubbed against the General's shin pads, and lying on his boots, making himself comfortable.
He smiled, and picked up the kitten.
"Get him some food. It seems hungry." The General commanded.
Seto face palmed.

The Snow Girl opened her eyes. She found herself in a bed.
She sat up. She was in the sorcerer's underground fortress.
She saw Seto rummaging through a cabinet.
"How's your head?" It really creeped her out that Seto never even looked to see she was awake.
"Much better. Thank you." She got out of bed, and stretched.
As soon as she got to her feet, she was tackled and fell back on the bed.
"I missed you too doggy." She laughed and pushed her new companion off of her.
"Oh PLEASE tell me it won't be staying with us." Seto mumbled.
She laughed. "What harm can ONE dog do?"
"Three times the damage one CAT can do." He got to his feet holding the potion.
He then pointed to the work bench, covered in broken bottles and potions bubbling as reactivity takes place.
"Oh bother."
Seto shrugged and handed her the potion.
She drank it.
"Alright. Now if you're feeling well enough, it's time for some training." Seto cracked his fingers. This concerned The Snow Girl.
"Oh don't bother Seto." The turned to see General Sky climbing down the ladder.
"It's nearly midnight. Why don't you two come up to the camp fire for a few hours. It's been a long day." He smiled.
As much as she wanted to, The Snow Girl couldn't, or else she may melt in front of the whole army.
"I think for Snow's health," Seto jumped in. "We'ed better stay here. I don't think fire is what she needs right now."
"Of course, of course." The General nodded his head. He turned to climb up the ladder.
"General?" The Snow Girl quivered.
Sky turned around and looked into her eyes. He arched an eyebrow.
"I'm so sorry for running into the woods." She was shaking.
Sky hopped off the first rung, and walked the her.
He gave her a huge hug.
"It's ok. As long as you're alright." He said into her ear.
He let go of her, and nodded to the very-awkwardly-standing Seto.
He climbed up the ladder, and was gone.
The Snow Girl was still standing the the awkward position she had been in when she was hugged. She was shocked.
She snapped back into reality when Sir Seto hit her on the back.
She jumped.
Seto arched an eyebrow.
She shrugged it off and walked to the work bench, and began picking up the broken glass.
"He wasn't always like that." She stopped cold.
The Snow Girl turned around.
"What?"
Seto was looking up the ladder.
He turned to face her.
"When you were in the woods, after fighting the monsters, did he yell at you?"
She nodded.
"Why was he suddenly so kind?" She asked.
Seto let out a big sigh.
"He cooled off." He walked to the table to help The Snow Girl pick up the glass.
"But he wouldn't have waited hours and hours to tell you it was ok. Heck, I don't think he would have even yelled."
"Why is that?"
"This have happened. Awful things. It's changed him. He gets angry much more easily now. Especially with girls."
She was taken back by this.
"But," She shuddered. "Why?"
He got up from bending over, and put an arm on her shoulder.
"One of the reasons this war started."
