Chapter Thirty Four

"GENERAL SKY!" A voice cried from above. It belonged to Major Deadlox.

"What is it Major?!" Sky yelled in reply from Sir Seto's layer.

"We have a problem up here." The General and The Snow Girl franticly climbed up the ladder, to the Major's feet.

"What is it??"

"It appears to be squids," He looked off. "In human form."

The three ran to the camp fire. Standing in the center of the circle was a young, tiny girl, no older than six or seven. She was blinding blonde, with white and silver ear muffs and a red outfit, with red gloves, and silver ice skates on her shoes.

She continued her chant.

"I have come for the squid girl." She looked all around them, as if trying to find something.

The Snow Girl's heart began to beat, and beat, and beat. She feared the general beside her would hear her terror.

They had come for her.

When she turned her head to The Snow Girl, she stopped, and had a terrifying smile on her mouth.

Time seemed to slow to an almost halt, as The Snow Girl watched as General Sky's head turned to her, his face sickened her to see. Such shock and confusion, not able to comprehend what was happening.

The Snow Girl looked around her. Curiosity and confusion on every private's face, and complete dismay from every Major and Lutenets watched as the girl walked to The Snow Girl in open arms,

The tiny red girl hugged the snow figure.

The Snow Girl looked down, and up in horror.

Her past had come to haunt her

"What... What is this sick joke??" General Sky said, taking a few steps back from the girl.

"I..."

"I have come for the squid girl." The tiny girl gave one more squeeze, than grabbed her by the hand.

"Come. You are needed. They have missed you."

"WHAT??" Sky said pulling out his sword.

"Sky, I-"

"TELL ME THIS IS A JOKE!" He held his sword to her throat.

"I-"

Suddenly, they heard a thundering rumble all around them. Then, all at once, dozens of squids, the size of witch huts, came from the trees, surrounding them.

Every private, Lutenets, and major pulled out their swords.

"ATTACK!!" Major Deadlox cry, announcing the chaos. The sounds of cries, slashing, and fire filled the air.

And through it all, General Sky only starred at The Snow Girl, his obsidian glasses staring through her soul.

"You... You..." He gaped, his hand shaking as he pointed at her.

"I..."

"You are the squid girl! You are the one born of these fiends! How... How could you?!"

"Sky, I..."

"I saved you! You retched being! Why would I waste such precious air on you?!"

"Sky, I-"

"You traitor! How could I have ever trusted you! How could I have ever felt such a way toward you..." He looked around, at the chaos, his enemy in the heart of his only safe haven in this war.

He cried out.

"STTTTTOOOOPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" His voice screeched.

The camp went dead silent, every private and squid still having their swords clinged together.

"Why have you come tonight?" He boomed.

"We have come for the our finest fighter, the squid girl." The leading squid said, still having Deadlox with his sword inches from his eyes. "We will stop at nothing to bring her back to the Squid King."

Sky looked at him, then back at The Snow Girl, then back at the squid.

"Well, you can have this traitor! She is nothing to me."

"Sky no-"

Two squids wrapped their tentacles around her arms, the leader squid lifting the tiny girl to his head. She giggled with glee.

"SKKYY!!!" She cried out. "DON'T LET THEM TAKE ME!!" General Sky only stood with his arms crossed.

"I DIDN'T KNOW THEY WERE EVIL!!!!!" She weeped, as they pulled her further and further away. "THEY WERE GOING TO MAKE ME KILL YOU!!!"

Sky only put his hands to his ears.

"THEY'RE GOING TO KILL ME!!!" She weeped, only to watch the General walk into his tent.

She was going to die.
