Chapter Thirty Five

The Snow Girl was only hundreds of yards from the water, below the surface the blue squid portal. The lead squid had already arrived hours before because the guard squids had fallen behind, half way through the trip The Snow Girl began to kick and fight, desperately trying to brake free.

The squids that held her arms still, filled with vengeance and evil excitement.

She was going to be executed.

From her tired eyes from weeping, all she could do was look down at her legs as they were dragged.

There was no more hope.

Suddenly, she heard rustling in the bushes.

Her head shot up, and looked around with alert ears.

The squids also stopped and looked around, holding their swords at the ready.

Suddenly, a figure came out from behind a tree.

It was General Sky.

The squids pointed their swords at him, only yards away.

"Why have you come?" The first guard spat.

"What do you plan to do with this squid?" He said, gesturing to The Snow Girl.

"It is no concern of yours. You handed her over to us, and her blood is now ours."

General Sky only leaned against the tree. "And what do you need her for?"

The second squid looked at the first.

"Might as well tell him if it makes him go away."

The first squid nodded, then looked back at Sky.

"She is to die for her treason against the king."

Sky smirked, and stood straight, with his arms crossed.

"It as done the same crime upon me. Her blood is there for also mine."

The Snow Girl's heart began to thud, sweat running down her face. What was he doing?

The squid let out a laugh.

"Because of her crimes against us, she will die by our hand, no matter what other crimes she has done onto any other."

"If she comes back with me, she will also die."

Her heart stopped.

What?

"You already gave her to us, in return no blood shed to fight for her. We are not giving her back to you, whether you plan to keep her alive or execute her."

Sky's face darkened.

"That wasn't a question." He charged them, holding two swords made of gold. Having most of their tentacles used to bind The Snow Girl, and their strength drained from her fight, they in no means could defeated themselves from such a lethal and passionate attack from the General.

The Snow Girl watched as he finished the second squid, and pulled his sword from his throat, and wiped it on the ground.

She watched with hope as he began to cut and slice at the tentacles that bound her. He had lied to the squids that he plotted to kill her so he could bring her back alive! He had taken what she had yelled into thought! He had listened to her! He had mercy on her! He was going to give her a second chance!

But as she got up to her feet in front of Sky, she watched in confusion, followed by horror and realization, as he drew back his arm, his fisted curled.

His arm launched as if it were a harpoon, giving no time for the defenseless girl to react.

He pounded her face.

Her world went black.

The high and mighty General Sky dragged her away into the woods.
