Sitting in Profile McGonagalls class were the first year students who were currently writing in silence as a cat sat on the front desk, watched them. The door then opens to reveal Harry powers and an orange haired boy, Ronald Weasley, running in late

"We made it. Can you imagine the look on McGonagall's face if we were late?" Ron asks Harry

"I think you're about to find out" (Y/N) says

The both look at him confused till he points up front at the cat. The cat jumped from the desk and transforms in Professor McGonagall. Harry and Ron were speechless

"That was bloody brilliant!" Ron compliments

"Thank you for that assessment Mr. Weasley. Perhaps it would be better if I transfigured Mr. Potter and yourself into a pocket watch." She says "Then maybe one of you might be on time!" She adds

"We got lost." Harry adds

After scolding the two they find their seats and McGonagall continues the lesson

Next they enter potions with professor Snape. He barges into his classroom and says the rules they have to follow during their time in the classroom

After that they head towards the cafeteria where the food was already laid out for them. As Merula and (Y/N) eat their food they hear a small explosion from the Gryffindor table. Apparently one of the kids tried doing a spell but it backfired

"Do you know any spells yet?" (Y/N) asks Merual

"A couple, nothing too fancy." She replies

"Well would you look a that Hogwarts best witch already knows some spell, you weren't all talk." He adds

"You though I was joking when I proclaim to be the best witch" she snarled at him

"I was joking, nothing wrong with a harmless joke, we good?" He says

"Whatever" she replies

She calms down and soon after owls come flying throughout the windows holding letters and some packages. (Y/N) notices that one of the owls was his, a grey owl, Tiki. Tiki swoops down and drops a letter down on his food. He grabs it and opens it to see a letter from his mother

Hello Ponyboy

First day and I already miss you. Do you miss me? Trick question I know you do. Now that you're gone I've noticed how lonely the house is so just a heads up I'm changing the way the house looks. Enough about me, how are you? Have you made any knew friends, girlfriend? Wink wink. I know meeting new people can be hard but I know you'll get around. I have so much I want to ask but this is the 20th time I've written this letter and now I'm running out of ink. I hope you're okay and write back as soon as you can

He smiles at the letter and folds it then puts it away and makes a mental note to write to his mum. Looking over at Merula he sees her with a note buy she isn't opening it. She looks at it with discomfort and puts it away without a care

"You're not gonna read it, it would be rude considering they went through the trouble of writing to you" he says

"I'll read it later" she says "And mind your own business" she adds

"Sorry" he replies knowing he overstepped his boundaries

After that, their next class was flying taught by Madam Hooch.

"Good afternoon, class" she says

"Good afternoon, Madam Hooch." They respond

"Welcome to you first flying lesson" she says "well what are you waiting for? Every step up to the left side of their broomstick. Come on now, hurry up. Stick your right hand over the broom and say 'up'" she instructs

"Up!" They say

Harry manages to get it first try while the other students have a difficult time doing so. They repeat it several time with a couple succeeding and others not so much

"Up" (Y/N) saying and the broomstick flies up into the air extremely fast. It kept going and going till it was out of sight. "Uh, Madam Hooch, my groom just left to space" he says

"No worry dear, happens every year, I'll get you another one" she says

He looks up then toward Merual to see how she was doing. She must've been doing better than him considering his broomstick just left orbit. At least that's what he was thinking because, in fact, she wasn't doing any better than he was

"Up!" She yells. The brooms then flings up and hit Merual in the face. "If I hear you laugh I swear I'll make you life sass living hell" she says to (Y/N) as he tries to desperately hold back his laughter

"Alright now mount your brooms. Grip it tight! You don't wanna be sliding off the end" she orders "When I blow my whistle, I want each of you to kick off the ground, hard. Keep your brooms steady, hover for a moment... then lean forward slightly and touch back down." She instructs

She then blows her whistle and a chubby kid, Neville Longbottom, floats off the ground. Everyone looks at him astonished, except Merula, as he flies up onto the air. He hits the wall a couple times and spirals out of control till his robe gets causing on a statue. Everyone looks up at him worried as his robe starts to rip and he falls down

He then gets caught by a torch light for a brief moment but then slipped from his robe and hit the floor. Madam Hooch rushing over to his side to check for any injuries and felt that his wrist was broken. She orders the student to stay put and takes Neville to the infirmary leaving a glass ball behind for Malfoy to pick up

"Did you see his face" he says looking at the glass ball "Maybe if the fat lump had given this a squeeze he'd remember to fall on his fat arse" he says making the kids laugh

"Hand it here Malfoy" Harry says

He refuses and gets on his broomstick then flies away. Harry then gets on his, ignoring the protests form his friends, and chases after him. They look at the both of 'em as they fly around for the glass ball

"What an arse" (Y/N) says

Malfoy throws the ball away and Harry catches it before it hits the window. He comes back down and the kids run over to him to celebrate. Sadly it's shortlived because Professor McGonagall comes over and asks Harry to follow her

"The great Harry Potter just got himself expelled" Merula says snickering

The rest of day went on as usual but without Harry. Eventually the day ended and they all went to their respective rooms. (Y/N) was the only one awake, reason being was, because he was writing a letter to his mother

Hello mum. I got your letter as you can tell and I gotta say, Hogwarts shot pass my expectations and beyond. I've never seen anything like it, now I know why you always ramble on about Hogwarts all the time. And about friends, I think I've made one so far but I still don't know where we stand? She's hard to read and it doesn't help that I'm the one staring the conversations. Also do you know who Harry Potter is? Apparently he's a famous wizard and he's only 11! What a world we live in. That's all really

"You talk while you write you know that" someone says startling him

"Holy-!" he stops himself mid way through and looks back to see Merula in her pajamas. "Do you usually sneak up on people like that" he says

"No but do you have to say the things you write down! Some of us are trying to sleep and you talked to yourself is sad and annoying" she says while rubbing her eyes

"I'm not... never mind. I'm already done anyway so just head back, sorry" he says as she heads back to bed. "Goodnight!" He says but she doesn't reply

He sighs and folds the letter up. He puts it in an envelope and handles it over to Tiki who is perchance up on the window

"Goodnight, Tiki" he says while caressing the owls head. It them flies away leaving (Y/N) to look at the moon

Second chapter done! A quick heads up but I might skim through the first year because (Y/N) won't be involved in the shenanigans that Harry and his friends go through. But next year hopes it'll be a difficult story
