Bonus: Something new

A young woman walked home on a starry night. She was a servant girl to a wealthy landowner. Her family was gone after the war, she was the only one left. She was kind but quiet and did not seem to have much to live for after losing her family to the war that had ravaged the country she lived in. From the darkness she saw four figures, none of them seemed to notice her. If they did, they did not acknowledge her. Her eyes cast over them before continuing on, this was none of her business. The woman walked on to her home, picking up a follower on the way. A young man from the nearby Hamon tribe that had taken a liking to her. He tried to get her attention and talk to her, he was a friendly fool. She disregarded him and continued on. He followed quietly after seeing she did not want to talk. He followed her until she was safely home to make sure she was okay before he went home himself.

The woman again walked home the next night alone, she stopped at a well to draw water. Beside the well was one of the figures from the previous night. Up close and under the full moon, she could see his beauty. The man had a gorgeous face that had blueish markings on the eyelids. He was barely clothed, exactly how a warrior would be. The young woman felt a small attraction to this gorgeous man. He looked to be resting by the well as he looked at the sky and held an injured hand.
The young woman stepped closer, "Are you hurt?" The man looked back at her. His eyes were the same red as the rubies that decorated precious objects. The hair she could see was a violet color, like the clothes of royalty. He was even more breathtaking to see face to face. "It is none of your concern, human.," the man spoke as his hand healed. The young woman stepped forward again, she felt unusually brave.

She drew water from the well as the gorgeous man rested nearby. She took a drink from the water and began to walk away. She stopped and turned around, "I wish you well, Good warrior." The young woman walked home alone. Her usual Hamon warrior companion was not there. She was okay as she went home though.
After a few days, when she was working, she heard that there were ancient men around. Men that the Hamon tribe did not like. The young woman disregarded these rumors that the other servants took to talking about. She did not care. She just had a job to do. She saw the Hamon warrior that was friendly to her come up to greet her. "Sorry I was not here the last few times.," the young man spoke with a grin, "But I am glad to see you are okay with those monsters around."
"Monsters? I only have seen men. Although, men are monsters.," the young woman said to the Hamon warrior. "These monsters take the form of men.," the Hamon warrior spoke, "You need to be careful. You can come live in my village instead of being alone, it would be safer." "No thanks. After the war and seeing how terrible people can be, I don't feel like it matters.," the young woman said, "I need to get back to work."

"The offer is still there if you want to take it.," the Hamon warrior said as he walked away, "it would be a shame if someone as pretty as you was killed." The woman ignored his comment of her being pretty. He always said that she was pretty, she did not care about that. She just wanted to get her job done and live out her life so she could die of old age and join her family in the afterlife, she had nothing else to live anyways.
After hours of working, she saw the sun go down. This was the signal for her to head home. She found the same man at the well like before. This time, he was watching her draw water from the well. "Are you not scared of me?," He inquired. "No. If you wanted to kill me, I believe that you would have done so already.," the woman replied, "But why waste energy on killing someone that will not give give you a good struggle?" The man made a small hum, "Intelligent for a human."
"You are one of the ones that the Hamon tribe are warning people about, correct?," the young woman asked as she drew water from the well. The man before her did not respond. His expression gave her the answer she needed. "You are then. Goodnight, good Warrior.," the woman said and walked to her home as she heard another being approach the one she left. Their conversation did not matter to her.

Life was quiet for the next few days. The Hamon warrior from the nearby tribe walked with the young woman when she was going home to keep her safe. He admitted to liking her during those walks together. She told him that she did not return those feelings. The warrior just shrugged off her words and kept walking with her during the walk. He told her that he would not be around for a few days. He had a test to do that had to do with his training. The young woman listened to him talk. He was proud of how well he was doing in his training. The woman congratulated the warrior as he looked proud. They wished each other good night and went home.
The young woman wondered about the so called 'monster' she had been talking to. He had not shown any signs of aggression to her. He was also so beautiful.

The time for festivals had come after more days passed. The Hamon warrior had not returned. The young woman was allowed days to stay home and rest because of the festivals. She was grateful for these festivals as she was tired after a year of working without breaks. She was able to rest now. She cleaned her home and tended to the small garden. It was peaceful. But she was lonely. She had no family.
The watched the sun go down and the moon and stars come out. A lovely night. She saw the handsome man and his three companions in the distance. It seemed like they were sparring and testing how strong they were against each other. The young woman was able to learn who was the leader just by watching them and the ranks of each member of the group. The one with the vermilion hair was the lowest rank. The blond haired one with the power to control winds was the third ranked, the white haired one was second and the one in the head wrap was the leader. She had been talking to the leader of these ancient men. She watched the men and noted that they seemed to be the only ones. There were no females of their kind.

The young woman found that she needed more water to do cooking with and went to the well to draw water from. She found one of the lower ranking warriors, the blond. He was taking a drink from the well when the young woman approached. He did not flinch when he saw her but did not act aggressive either. "Good evening.," the young woman greeted. The blond did not respond at first, but later replied with a 'good evening, human.' She did not feel scared of this warrior, "I saw you and your group sparring, you are a very capable warrior."
The warrior gave her a small nod, "Thank you, human." The woman noted how polite this man was. A voice behind her spoke, "Wamuu. Let's go." It was the leader again. He warrior, Wamuu, bowed to his master. "Yes lord Kars.," the warrior spoke and followed before the man stopped. Kars turned to the human woman, "Human, have you heard of a stone called the Red Stone Of Aja?" She thought and remembered a rumor, "Yes, the other servants like to gossip. The Red Stone is being kept by Either the Emperor or one of the Senators. The stone is beloved."  Kars listened to her speak and nodded. He and Wamuu left quickly. The woman only returned home.

She kept encountering Wamuu and Kars after that. Once she met with the other young warrior. He was rather quiet and did not speak much, he could have been a little shy. Wamuu was polite when he saw the human woman. She learned from listening to the Warriors that tended to ignore her presence that they were the only ones left. There were no females of their kind. They were the only four left.
How lonely it must be to be the last of their kind. She understood if they were lonely. She did not feel like her life was ever threatened by these men. She was just some small and insignificant creature compared to these men, these demigods. They were all so powerful and beautiful while she was just a human. A woman at that. Women were always seen as dumb and weak.
The young woman found Kars again a few nights later, this time closer to her home. He had killed a known criminal. The man's body was being absorbed into Kars' own. The ancient man looked right at her. "Are you still unafraid of me, human?," the man asked as he came closer, blades on his forearms. "Yes. I am not afraid to die if you want to kill me.," the woman said and continued walking, "But I have my own question for you."

Kars listened, "Go ahead." "Isn't it lonely? Being one of the last four of your kind?," she asked the red eyed man. He never changed expression, "I have three others, I am not lonely." "But there is no way for you to save your race. You are all male.," the woman continued, "Have you accepted the fate of being the last ones before your race dies?" She never saw him move. His blade was right at her neck, he was trying to scare her. Kars, however, got a different reaction than what he was wanting. The human woman just looked at him, he saw that she was not scared of death exactly like she said before. "How are you not afraid?," the man asked and pressed the blade closer to the throat of the human woman. She never flinched, "I am the last one of my family. I survived the war that killed the rest. I'm not afraid because I know I will join them when I die." The man lowered his blade, she spoke the truth, she had nothing left to lose, she had nothing left to fear. "I am not afraid because I will not die.," Kars finally said, "Once I obtain the stone, I Shall evolve beyond understanding of humans."
"But that still will not save your race, have you not wanted to try and restart your people?," the woman asked. Kars looked down at her with hardened red eyes. He honestly did not think of that option. The woman watched as he put his blade away.

"I have not.," the man spoke, "The idea is an interesting concept. But like you said, we don't have female of our species left. Do you have any suggestions since you brought it up?" "I guess it would be too much for a great 'god' as yourself to stoop as low as to try and restart your race with a human.," the woman spoke and began walking home, "But it seems that this may be your only option."
Kars followed as he listened, she again spoke the truth. Humans and his own species were the closest in terms of biology. She was pretty observant and intelligent for a human woman, added in with her ability to stay calm under pressure. He also found this woman to be rather beautiful for a human, even comparable to the women of his own species before he slaughtered all of them. "That would be our only option. But we have never tried that.," Kars spoke as he walked with the woman. He was watching her carefully now.
She spun around as they reached her house and placed her hand against her chest, "Then try with me! I offer myself to You and your cause, you can do whatever with me if it fails! I don't have anything to lose or live for anymore." Her eyes looked into his red ones before he broke the gaze to look towards the horizon, he must have sensed something, "I will think about your offer, Human. Do you have a name you wish for me to use?" "My name matters not if I am not successful with this, Kars.," the woman spoke. Kars used his strength to jump away from her, moving quickly to return to where he stayed.

The woman rested the night and returned to the land she worked at in order to help them to prepare for a festival. She listened to the gossip from the other servants. They spoke of the nearby Hamon tribes leaving to go on a mission in the capital. Some sort of attack occurred on the capital and the capital of the neighboring country. She wondered if it was her fault because she told Kars about the stone she heard of. She shook it off and kept working. She talked a little bit with the other servant women. She was asked to join in the festival as a dancer, the other young women wanted to dance and possibly get a husband during this festival.
She only agreed because she could have a little bit of fun and have an excuse to dress up a little. The young woman went home to prepare for the festival the following day. She would not have to go in to work since she agreed to be part of the servers and dancers. She would have to focus on getting rest that night. She was happy to go right to sleep.

The following day, she was preparing for the festival and making changes to her festival garb. She dressed herself and spun a bit. She was ready for the festival. The young woman traveled to the place the festival was set to be at and met up with her fellow dancers to go over what they would be doing, along with practicing her dancing with them. They danced and played, talking and resting. Preparations for the festival were complete as the sun was no longer overhead. It was beginning to go down but was not dark as the festival began. The group of young ladies danced and sang. Their feet and bodies light as they stepped and spun with the music that played.
The festival itself was joyous as food and drink were served. Cheers and celebration sounded in the night air as the time went on. The young woman had to stop her performance to rest. She was breathing hard as she sat down away from the celebrations, she liked to watch the others live their lives from a distance. She watched the other dancers talk to young men and flirt. Some of them looked like they were looking for her. She did not care for that.
She kept resting before she heard someone behind her, it was Kars and Wamuu. The other two had to be somewhere else. "Hello Kars, Hello Wamuu.," the young woman said with a smile. Wamuu gave her a small bow to greet her, he was still polite. "May I ask why you are here?," the young woman asked. "I thought over your offer.," Kars spoke, "And I accept. I have already informed the other two about this new experiment. You are coming with us, but we will return you to your home."

She was not even allowed a word as Wamuu took her up and they moved quickly as if they were flying. The woman was impressed with their home. A temple large and comfortable, it was beautiful. Kars kept his word, she was returned to her home before dawn broke. Thankfully she did not have to go to her servant job that day. The owner of the land she worked on was gracious in that respect. She would be given some time to heal from what she and Kars did. Her hand was over her stomach as she fell asleep. It was her hope that the attempt was successful. She watched as the morning sun rose and felt happy. She was going to be happy with either outcome of this little experiment she and Kars were doing. She felt something that she had not felt in a long time. She felt that she was in love with Kars, she knew that he did not love her in return. But she was at least happy with having to be a part of a chance at a new life.

The months passed and she noticed her stomach had grown in size. So the experiment had been successful. She and Kars were parents. She felt a joy grow in her along with this child. Kars was pleased with the development and would come to check on the woman and the child in her womb every so often. He was more gentle with the woman and would speak to her when he came to visit. Sometimes speaking to the child inside her. The woman herself became more openly affectionate to Kars since she was safe with him. She met and interacted with Kars' companions. Esidisi teased his master lightly at having a child with a human. The woman was very comfortable with all of them. She would speak to Wamuu and the quiet warrior as Kars and Esidisi talked. Wamuu seemed to be scared of hurting her and the baby inside of her. The young woman was patient and polite as she and the youngest warriors spoke. She and Esidisi would trade teases and insults when they interacted, she saw Esidisi cry once. She still remembered she was a human among these men, she was much weaker and looked down upon. She did not care, she was just there to help them with this particular experiment.

She still worked for the wealthy man that owned the land she lived on. Her pregnancy did not slow her down. Although it became the discussion of the servants. Whose baby was it? Why was she not married? The young woman disregarded them as she worked. One day, she felt a pair of hands over her eyes and the voice of the friendly Hamon warrior meet her ears. She turned and looked at his shocked expression. "You found someone when I was gone for almost a year?," the young man asked after he saw her stomach, "I guess it was to be expected when you are this beautiful. I probably should have asked you to marry me before I left."
"It would not change anything if you did. I would have said no.," the young woman replied and went back to work. "I just... I hope your husband takes care of you.," the warrior said and walked of sadly. He did like the woman. But she was taken. He did not know she was taken by the enemy though.

Kars kept coming to visit as she grew bigger and the time grew near for the baby to be born.
Someone must have seen the two together...

Hamon warriors stormed the young woman's home.
All she was trying to do was make something new.
Something beautiful.
