Bonus: Born in battle

A woman was dragged from her home by her hair, she was screaming for the men who were dragging her to let her go. She got a slap to the face as she was dragged to the middle of their town. She was being charged for a crime. They were going to kill her for what she did. The young woman screamed and fought back, protecting her bulging belly that held the precious child she loved. These people wanted to kill her. The looks on their faces held disgust and anger towards the woman.
They hated her for what she did. They hated her for who she loved. They hated the child that she had within her. These warriors, hamon warriors. They hated that she loved and was carrying the child of their enemy. She curled around herself as they tried to kick her and punch her, she was protecting the child that had not been born yet. The young woman gasped in pain with a strong kick to her back.

How did they even find out? She was careful and did not tell anyone. She kept to herself except when she was working for the owner of the land she worked on. How did they find out about her relationship with the leader of those men? Why did they hate him so? Why did they fear this baby so much? This was just a small child who had no quarrel with these people, with his tribe. The woman felt the air chill as the sun went down. She knew that the man she loved would be coming to see her again.
She may die that night, but she wanted to make sure the one she loved like her husband got to see his child. With all of her voice, she screamed for him, hoping that he would hear her with his sharp ears. She wanted the god to notice her.
"Kars!"

A man with redeye emerged from the temple he hid in, the sun had set and it was safe for him to roam. He was going to get something to eat first before going to see the woman that carried his child. He had very little attachments to the woman other than the usual that emerge from mating. He had more interest in protecting the offspring than the woman, but he did want to protect the woman.
He took a deep breath of the cool night air and exhaled, it was a beautiful night again. No clouds, all the stars were out. It was bright under the moon. He could see everything in great detail. He was the master of the night. The man turned back when he heard his three companions exit the temple as well.

The two young ones bickered as usual, boasting who had stronger abilities. The older companion chuckled as he approached his friend, "I know that look. You're going to see your human again, Kars. It should not be long before that little present she has been keeping safe for you is born." The red eyed male smiled slightly, "That is true. We have been deciding names for the infant, Esidisi. She thinks a human name would be good while I want to name it a more traditional name."
"Can I hold the baby when it is born?," One of the young companions asked, his green eyes looked to Kars with enthusiasm. Kars chuckled, "Wamuu. You would have to be gentle, babies are delicate. Human ones especially." The blond boy sighed, "I'll be careful. But why do you want a baby anyways?" Esidisi gave an exasperated sigh, "Don't question lord Kars, he is trying to see if we can restart our race."
The young warriors shuffled back and forth on their feet awkwardly after hearing that.

Kars softly chuckled before his head snapped up, he heard a pained and desperate cry of his name. It was the woman that had his child in her. Something was wrong. He knew it. His companions heard the cry and watched their master take off after the cry. He was going to see why his human was calling for him so desperately. The companions followed. The ancient and godlike man felt a feeling clench around his heart, fear. He was afraid for that human and the infant inside of her.
He smelled blood from the woman as he came upon the village of a hamon tribe. His rage enveloped him as he saw the woman he trusted with having his child was being tortured because she had his child. The man felt his blades erupt from his arms, he was out for blood. He jumped off of the roof he had situated himself on and landed on the nearest hamon using human. His blades sliced through the neighboring humans. His technique was flawless.

Blades cut through the humans with little resistance, these were weak excuses for hamon users if they were easily surprised by him. A flash of white beside him showed that the youngest warrior was assisting him by taking care of a human trying to sneak up on him. They were going to have a feast on these humans. The roar of a wind vortex told him where Wamuu was, the screams of boiling Humans showed the location of Esidisi. Kars finally got to where the woman was, her stomach was cut open and she was bleeding out. The infant was about to be struck with a hamon infused blade. The godlike man cut the human man up quickly, the blade did hit his offspring though, just a graze across the baby's back.
The infant was crying from the trauma. Kars kneeled and picked up the wailing infant. He took of the Cape he wore and used part of it to wrap the newborn up in as Esidisi lifted the woman up in his arms. She was weak and bleeding out. The human was heaving with heavy breaths, barely able to speak, "Kars. Is the... baby okay?" Her once lively eyes were fading into a dull and lifeless hue. The godlike man knelt by the woman, "She is. We have a daughter." He allowed the human to see their daughter before she passed from her wounds.

The woman looked at the child and smiled, "She's... beautiful. Like her father. I'm happy... that I was able to do something good for once." The woman fell limp after placing her hands on both her daughter's cheek and Kars'. "Take care of... her.," the woman breathed out as the life left her body. The woman was no longer there. It was just a shell of flesh that used to hold that lively soul.
Kars rose and looked at the little infant in his arms. She was so small. He could easily hold her in one hand. The little life had stopped crying as she was secure against him. The red eyed man brushed his thumb against the soft cheek of the infant. He saw her eyes open and look up at his, she had his eyes. So small and precious. "I swear I will protect you. I will protect you better than I did your mother.," the man said softly to the infant. Esidisi picked up the woman's corpse, "What shall we do with your pet?"
"Bring her body with us. I need to feed my daughter with something.," the man said, "She would want to give our daughter the best chance of survival."

Kars walked past the younger warriors as they fed on the hamon users they had defeated, the young warriors looked behind them when their master passed. They saw him holding a small bundle in his arms, he was quite tender with the bundle. The youngest got up and tried to look at the bundle, only for Kars to glare at the young vermillion haired warrior. The young man backed away after seeing the harsh look from his master. The two young warriors saw that Esidisi was carrying the body of the formerly pregnant woman. She looked peaceful, like she was asleep. The two decided against trying to talk to their master for a bit. He seemed to be going through some things. They went back to feeding as their master sat down away from them and the carnage to slowly feed the baby with the blood of her mother.
Esidisi watched quietly as he fed on his own meal. His master was so gentle with the newborn. He knew his master was enamored with the child, she was his offspring after all. He would have different feelings towards this child than he would the ones that he raised to be warriors. This baby would more than likely not be a warrior, she would more than likely be a little princess. The dark skinned man chuckled a bit as he finished his meal. He had his reservations, but if his master wanted this baby, he had no place to speak against the wishes of his master.

Kars woke with a start.
His heart was pounding and he was breaking hard. A light film of sweat beaded over his skin. He rose and looked around before placing his face in his hand. It had been two thousand years since that night. Why was he having a nightmare about it now?
His red eyes darted over to his daughter who was rubbing her eyes, "Daddy, why are you yelling?" She made a small yawn as the other warriors peered into the room to see what was wrong.
The plum haired male shook his head and picked up his child, "Nothing, my treasure. Nothing but unsavory memories." He ran his hand over his daughter's hair. He was going to keep his promise, he was going to protect this precious child. His one and only daughter, his only offspring.

The other warriors went back to resting themselves after they saw everything was fine. The little girl held onto her father as he hugged her and petted her hair, more for his own comfort than for hers. The child new something was wrong for this to happen. "I promise...," The heard her father speak, "I promise to protect you. Always."
The girl wanted to ask what was wrong, she wanted to know why he was suddenly like this. He was like his once every so often. It hit her, it was the anniversary of her birth. When her mother died violently. Her father never told her about her mother, other than she was killed the night the girl was born.

"I'll protect you.," He whispered over and over, it seemed to be more directed to himself than the girl. The plum haired girl tightened her grip around her father's neck, "You have. And I love you daddy." Kars let out a shaky sigh and gave his child a kiss on her head, "I love you too, my most precious."
The girl knew he was not going to go back to sleep for a while, so she might as well. She got comfort from her father being there. Kars watched his daughter fall back asleep. She was still so tiny and weak compared to him and the others. She was born in battle, born from the death of her mother. He had to protect her, his precious daughter.
His red eyes closed and he leaned back to go back to sleep. Finally satisfied that everything was okay. He was a king, he had his daughter, his warriors. There was little to nothing that could stop him. He drifted back into sleep with his daughter in his arms.

"You have taken good care of her, I'm happy.," A faint voice said as he fell back to sleep.
A light sensation on his cheek made him groan a little. It felt like one of the kisses the girl's mother gave him. He was already asleep as the spirit of the woman who gave him his daughter floated over the two with a proud smile on her face.
"I still love you, Kars, (y/n).," She whispered to the two before ascending to heaven to finally rest.
