Mousefur glanced at her paws, a heavy feeling lodged deep inside her chest and heart. "Oh, Longtail..." she muttered. "What's happening? First we lose the Forest.. now.. dead cats are coming back to kill us..". The elderly she-cat had unsheathed her claws, and Purdy was by a tree sharpening his. The young warrior, Dovewing, had claimed the battle was about to begin. I can't do this, Longtail. I'm too.. elderly. I haven't fought in moons, how am I supposed to face the Dark Forest? Purdy padded over to her, a dull look on his face. "I know, Mousefur. We haven't done this in ages. But we're gonna have to if we want to survive,". Mousefur sighed. "I hope you're right,".

        Mousefur yowled as dark cats surged into the camp. Bloodshed instantly began. At first, none of the dark warriors paid any mind to her, but one pounced over to her. She screeched and leaped out of the way. The tom chuckled. "Ah, lookie here. A little elder, eh? Looks like ThunderClan isn't always in the right. I thought they were with the code, which states elders have done their duty?". Mousefur snarled. "It's you who has invaded! Not ThunderClan!". She lunged at him, clawing at his shoulder. The dark tom hissed, but pinned Mousefur easily, biting open her chest. She yowled in agony as the tom shredded his claws at her face. No! I can't die! But I can't kick him off! She gasped as suddenly, the tom was hurled off. A shiny spirit kicked at his face, sending him sprawling into the crowd. "Longtail!" Mousefur purred at the sight of  the old elder. She felt a pang, remembering how Longtail had been crushed by the tree. "It's so great to see you-"

        "NO!" Longtail screamed. Mousefur turned, but it was too late. Claws grasped her throat, spliting open the key to her life. She screamed out in agony, sinking to the ground with a dull thud. The tom smirked and leaped out of the way of Longtail's wrath before his claws could puncture the tom. Longtail leaned over her, his gaze sad. "Mousefur.. no!". Mousefur smiled. "I-It's okay.. I died serving my Clan.. and that's exactly how I wanted it,".
