Cover

I thought the cover was beautiful. You could already tell by looking at it that there was some sort of sad or tragic event that shapes the story into what it is. I loved the title's font, because even thought it may have not worked 100% with the rest of the cover (It's always hard to find fonts that work I know from experience) It has a deeper meaning that I didn't think of at first. The cover had some great elements that explain the story before you even open the book, and I loved seeing that!!!

 Description + Tags

-----

After witnessing something terrible happen to her best friend, Harper changes her name to Echo. She swears she will never compose her own sentence ever again. She can only "echo" others'. One day she finds a new boy leaning against her locker. Looking for directions to class, Nick inquires of her. Carefully, she shows him the way, but resolves that he can't find out about her past. A relationship builds but their secrets threaten everything. Bounces between Echo's POV, flashbacks, and the Greek myth of Echo and Narcissus.

------

The description was what I like to call short and sweet. It wasn't lengthy and gave a long description of the book, but it wasn't short and not interesting either! It gave the perfect amount of details that I needed to want to read the book! All the tags make sense and are very related to the story

 Hook/Beginning

The first chapter really made me interested! It shows two happy, care free girls even though after reading the description I prepared myself for the beginning to be sad. It made me wonder what happened to those two girls and why the main character changed her name. It definitely made me want to keep reading!!!

 Conventions

There was a few grammar and spelling mistakes in there, but don't worry it's pretty normal. It's hard to catch all the mistakes by yourself. Nothing too bad.

 Characters

There's only a few chapters and they're short so I can't totally relate to them yet, but I can already tell that they will build up as you keep writing. It's also understandable because we don't know the main character's backstory yet and don't understand the reasons for all of her actions.

Overall score 86/100

I enjoyed reading Echo, and I'm excited for what comes next! No writer or book is perfect, but you can always keep striving to improve your book as you continue writing!!! I do wish the chapters would have been just a bit longer to help the reader imagine what's going on just a little bit better, but that's understandable because your still at the beginning of your book, and it will progress as you continue writing. I want to say, that I especially love the overall plot. It's very unique and different and I'm eager to see what comes next!!!
