Chapter by Chapter Challenge

How do you guys like the banner I made? It's my first time making one.

@The_Story_Nerds has this cool thing called the chapter by chapter challenge, where all of the chapters are created by other people. It's quite interesting, and that's why I'm entering.

Here's my entry:

A man, who Nathan presumed to be a butler, was on the other side of the door. A startled look spread across his face as he looked at Nathan.

"Master Jackson! Why aren't you in the study? Never mind, hurry in!" he said, escorting them both in.

"Wait, what? I'm sorry, you must be mistaken." Nathan responded, but it was no use. The man quickly hurried off into the small crowd of people, leaving Nathan and Jackie alone.

A bright chandelier adorned the ceiling, and men and women in fancy clothes graced the floor. Small shots of champagne were clenched in their hands, the sound of small talk reverberating in the building.

"There he is." Nathan stated, staring at the man in the middle.

He had short cropped jet black hair, chiseled features, and sky blue eyes that told you he was a troublemaker. His black and white tuxedo complimented his athletic figure, but his face held authority. He let out a laugh, his voice rich and melodic.

"No. I shouldn't do this. Let's go home, and pretend nothing ever happened." Nathan said, turning away.

"No, go talk to him!" Jackie hissed, shoving him into the man.

The man let out a startled yelp, and then turned around. He was tall, towering over him. Then again, Nathan was only 5'3.

"Jax? What are you doing here? You're supposed to be studying!" the man said.

"What? I'm not Jax. Listen, I think you might be my..." Nathan started. He was cut off by the man, who let out a sigh.

"Listen, since you're already here, you might as well make the speech you've been dying to give. Then, you're grounded." he said, shooing him to the stage.

He was suddenly pushed into the microphone, and stumbled on the stage. Feedback bounced off of the walls and disrupted the crowd. All eyes were on him. He let out a sigh of resignation.

You can do this. He reminded himself.

No, you can't. he thought to himself.

Jackie gave a thumbs-up from the crowd, and he sighed. He was sighing a lot these days. This was it. What he said would completely change the course of his life. It was now or never.

He gave a deep breath in, reminded himself he could do this, and spoke into the microphone.

"That man," he announced, pointing to the the person he had bumped into, "is my dad."

And that was when all sorts of crazy broke loose.
