Moving ~09/12/23~
The packing of boxes made him terribly nervous.
Dull green eyes watched anxiously as his mama walked down the hall with boxes from his room, taking them out to the truck parked outside the house. They were apparently moving to a new house, a bigger house with a nice backyard. But, the change made the young teen nervous...
"Jin, honey, can you grab the last two boxes from your room please?" Night asked sweetly, walking out the house moments later. Jin nodded more-so to himself as he walked down the hall to his room, picking up the last couple boxes to take to the truck. The teen coughed softly after walking out of the house, pausing for a moment when he found his new mama talking to her fiance. Hartz laughed and took the boxes from his love, moving to get them on the truck and catching sight of Jin.
"Hey buddy! Long time no see!" He smiled brightly, setting the boxes down. Said teen looked toward Night who smiled sweetly, waving him on encouragingly.
"... Hi..." He spoke softly, moving forward slowly. The boxes needed to go on the truck yet his fear left him conflicted. Hartz seems like a nice guy, but that could all be an act. But they're all moving in together...
"Here baby, I'll take them." Night spoke up after seeing the conflict in her son's eyes, reaching out for the boxes laid in his arms.
"N-no... I-I got them..." Jin turned slightly away from her, looking up at Hartz with nervous dull eyes. He reached up and held the boxes up to him, looking down to the ground. "... H-here you go..."
"Thank you! You're such a big help." Hartz praised him, reaching and taking the boxes carefully. Jin felt heat grace his cheeks and he looked up again, a twinkle shining in his eyes.
Night smiled and snapped a photo of the two, shutting her phone off and stepping back toward the house, ruffling her son's hair.
"Most everything is packed up, hun. All that's left is to get it on the truck."
"Alright! Let's knock this out so we get over to the new house!" Hartz hopped off the truck and reached over to Jin, the teen flinching slightly. All until he felt his hand touch his head, the large hand ruffling his hair like how his mama does. The adults walked into the house to grab more boxes as Jin stood outside a few moments longer. His hand touched his head and looked toward the house, smiling slightly and following to help more.

Jin laid passed out in the back seat of the car, shark plush as his pillow with his blanket over his lap. The truck was all packed up and ready to go, dinner was eaten, and it was time to go. Night yawned herself as she climbed into the car, Hartz walking up to her window and leaning in. The two shared a kiss before pulling back, the young woman smiling.
"Alright love, let's get this show on the road. The sooner we get there, the sooner we can get certain things unpacked." Night told him with a smile, getting another kiss from Hartz.
"Sounds good baby girl. I'll be following." He smiled back, jingling the truck keys. Two-colored eyes caught the boy sleeping in the back and he smiled, looking at his future wife again. "He's making progress, Night."
"I know and I couldn't be any more proud..." Night looked behind her and smiled sweetly. "This was a great idea. Moving, adopting him. It's all amazing..."
"Agreed. Come on, let's get going."
A final kiss and Hartz walked over to the truck, getting in and starting it up. Night started up her car and pulled away from the curb, the journey starting to the new house. It wasn't terribly far from where they resided before, but it was still a drive. The new house was almost across the city. The time was currently eight-thirty by the time they left her first apartment. Her first home. The feeling was bittersweet to her and it brought tears to her eyes, smiling softly as she looked in the rear view.
"Bye old house..." She said softly, turning the corner and watching the house disappear from her sight.
~~~
The young woman stretched her arms and her back out the moment she stepped out of the car, groaning in discomfort when her back popped.
"Finally here!" She cheered, sharing a kiss with her future husband as he walked up.
"Yeah finally!" Hartz smiled, holding her in his arms. "Alright, the truck is in place and opened up. Are we just putting boxes in the garage and beds and stuff in place?"
"To get things started before we call it a night? Yeah definitely." Night nodded, leaning her head against his chest. "Jin and I have been up and packing since six o'clock this morning, we're exhausted."
"Speaking of Jin, are we letting him sleep in the car until we have his bed set up?"
"Yeah. He's still to catch up on all the sleep he missed before he entered my care."
"Makes sense to me. Alright, let's get it on!"
Night and Hartz got to work quickly, teaming up with moving boxes into the garage and larger stuff into the house. From the dining room table to dressers for both Jin and Night, things moved smoothly. Ten-thirty, most of the truck was unpacked, meaning they could call that for the night and lock it up until the morning. Jin was still sleeping peacefully in the backseat but could now be moved over to his new bedroom, the young parents having put together the bed frame and made his bed. Hartz opened the back door of the car and smiled softly at the sight. The teen was curled up and cuddled into his favorite blanket, his shark plush nuzzled into his arms. He looked so at peace with everything...
Hartz reached in and scooped him up into his arms, feeling his head fall right onto his shoulder. Making sure he had him secure, he walked toward the house. The man would be lying if he wasn't at all giddy about holding the new member of the family, almost as if he was their newborn baby. Yeah, Hartz could get used to this.
"Well, look at that..." Night smiled when he walked inside, closing the front door for him. She reached over and brushed her hand through messy black. "Thank you for getting him out of the car, baby. If you want, I can take him from-"
"No. No, I got him." Hartz cut her off from finishing her sentence, his eyes pleading. "Night, I need this... Please."
"Okay okay." Night waved him off, pointing to the stairs. "Be careful with him please, he's still pretty fragile."
"Yes dear..." Hartz made his way up the stairs with his heart fluttering each step he took. Night shook her head and held her hand to her chest, a smile etching to her lips. Hartz looked so happy having their new son in his arms, it looked so natural. The mother yawned herself and heaved a sigh, making sure the front and back doors were both locked before moving toward their new bedroom. Grey spared another look up the stairs and pressed on.
She changed into her comfy clothes and finished getting ready for bed, brushing her teeth. Hartz walked into the master bathroom not long after and smiled at his fiance, kissing her head.
"He's all tucked in and cozy. I made sure to keep the door cracked and made sure the night light was on." The man felt proud of himself, smiling widely to her.
"Thank you, honey." Night smiled back, spitting into the sink before rinsing her mouth out. "Now it's our turn to get all cozy. I'm exhausted."
"Yeah me too... And our first official night in the new house."
"Very true." The two shared a kiss and Night sighed, wrapping her arms around his neck. "It's going to be nice to build a life here. And a family..."
"Yeah, it sure will be..." Hartz hugged her and nuzzled his nose into her blonde locks, closing his eyes. He could stay like that for hours... Pulling away, the two walked out of the bathroom to get into bed. They shared a sweet kiss and got cozy, shutting the respective lights and bidding each other good night.
Yeah, definitely a good idea...
