You could pour soup in my lap and id probably apologize to you.
Sakamoto Hatake raced through the trees, his injuries comrades on his shoulders as the sounds of pursuit reached his sensitive ears.
"Boss!" Shiba yelled, leaning to the left. "This way!"
Sakumo trusted his summons and adjusted his course.
On his left, Takashi groaned.
A kunai flew through the air, it's whistling loud and clear, a familar flapping.
Sakumo swore as the explosive tag detonated, throwing the three shinobi off the tree branches.
Wind blew around Sakuno, halting his fall inches from the ground and freezing him I place. He couldn't even move his chakra beyond the minimum needed to live.
"Puppies!" A child shrieked.
Shiba wagged his tail and trotted over to the little redhead girl.
"Oh, who's a good ninja hound. You are! Yes you are!"
"It seems we have a visitor." A man said in monotone.
There was another person in the clearing,, sitting under the cherry blossom tree in the center of the grove and sipping tea.
With a wave of the dark haired man's hand, Sakumo floated up and was carefully maneuvered to seiza position, settling down on the grass, Takashi and Megumi gently floated up a second later, setting down gently on either side of the Hatake.
"Hi, Sakumo-san." The girl said. "It's nice to meet you. Shiba's told me all about you."
"He's still caught in the anti-mortal barrier, Kitsune-chan." The adult said, not looking up from his tea.
"I'm not a fox, Itoko!" The girl snapped, chakra flaring up, hot as the sun. "And I knew that. I was just going to heal Okami-kun's friends first."
The redhead approached the still frozen Sakumo and laid her hand on his head. The shinobi wanted to pull away but he was still caught in whatever barrier she had erected.
Chakra flowed into his body, healing and refilling his chakra coils.
Feeling rushed back into his limbs and collapsed on the ground, breathing heavily.
The girl knelt over Takashi, the gash in his chest healing, blood vanishing, color returning to his face until it only looked like he had fallen asleep in the grass.
A moment later, Megumi was the same, purple hair gently framing her face.
"What, little wolf?" The girl asked. "Didn't your pack mates tell you where they were bringing you and your comrades?"
The black haired adult who looked exactly like an Uchiha stood suddenly, strapping on his sword. "If you will excuse me, Ayako, I have some obnoxious mortals to deal with."
"Bye Sharringon! Have fun!"
------------
Percy appeared in the Sakura Grove, his attention immediately drawn by the two sleeping mortals under the pink branches.
Shrugging his shoulders, he took a seat next to Ayako, who had a large Hokkaido dog on her lap, the summons large enough his head was all that would fit.
"Where's Sharringon?" Percy asked.
"Putting the fear of the gods into Iwa." Ayako said with a smile.
_______________
6 months later
Kakashi Hatake was many things, and a crier was not one of them.
He stood in front of the Memorial Stone and saw his father's name upon it.
Although he'd not been there, rumor had it the Sun Dragon herself delivered his father's body to Konoha.
She hadn't stayed long, but left a blood red spider lily in Salumo's vest.
"I liked him." A voice said next to him.
Kakashi didn't jump. Ninja's don't startle but he hadn't heard the little girl come to sit next to him.
Her hair was as red as Kushina's which was Kakashi's first clue. Her chakra, all consuming and blistering hot, were the second.
"He used to leave me cookies." She said softly. "Didn't matter if he was in Konoha or not, he would take the time to leave me a snack at one of my shrines."
"The ones with the sprinkles were the best." Kakashi said softly but when he looked back at the goddess, she had gone, leaving behind a familiar sword that had been lost when Sakumo was killed, and a red spider lily.
