Lovely Fellows

"That is absolute crap," Ian informed him. Mitch nodded in agreement.

The boy--or claimed End demon, whatever that was--turned to gaze at the two with a disdainful look. "I don't recall giving you permission to speak, mortal."

A second of silence passed, and then Sky, Mitch, and Ian burst into laughter.

"Y-you think this is funny?" the boy demanded, taken by surprise. "I-I am more powerful than you could ever dream!"

"Where are you from, bro, five-hundred years ago?" Mitch snickered.

"Ancient times called," Ian gasped through fits of giggles. "It wants its language back."

The boy was fuming now. "I am the mighty Deadlox! How DARE you speak to me in that manner!"

Sky put his hands on "Deadlox's" shoulders, ignoring how the boy flinched at his touch and looking him in the eyes and faking a serious look. "Bro. You need to take a chill pill."

Deadlox's face was red and his wristband was glowing dangerously. "Band of hooligans!" he cried, jerking away from Sky. This only caused more laughter from the three.

  "I'm dead," Ian gasped. "I can't."

"'Dead' is a good word to describe you four when I'm finished with you." A voice sounded from a few meters away, and four heads turned to watch as several people on horseback emerged from the trees around them. One stood out from them all; he had blond hair covering one of his eyes--the uncovered eye was blue--and looked to be about their age. He had no armor on, but a wickedly sharp diamond sword pulsing with faint purple light was strapped to the saddle of his horse.

His gaze flickered between Sky and Deadlox, seeming almost bored, but Sky could sense the mix of excitement and hatred that he felt.

"Two more freaks to kill," he drawled. "At least now my day will be eventful. And two of you! At the same time!" He clasped his hands together. "What fun."

"Sir," one of the other horseback riders said, also eyeing the four with an uneasy gaze, "maybe we should head back, just for today."

The blond boy turned to glare at the man. "And why is that?" His voice was ice-cold.

"W-well, sir," the rider stuttered, obviously afraid. Sky wondered why he would fear a boy half his size. "Most of us are already injured from today's training." He gestured to the rest of the group, who was wore bandages on various limbs.

  "So?"

"Jason, hurry UP," an accented female voice called. "I am SICK of these BRANCHES and BUGS. They are messing up my HAIR." A girl with reddish-brown hair and blue eyes glared at the boy. She wore a red shirt and a bow.

  "Princess at two-o-clock," Mitch muttered.

"Seriously?" Sky whispered. Ian shook his head.

  "Just girly."

"Ashley, I'm kind of in the middle of something here," Jason groaned.

"I want to go back," Ashley proclaimed. "I'm too tired and I don't want blood on my clothes, it's disgusting."

Jason huffed, swinging himself off of the saddle and unsheathing the sword. "Well, then, let's get this done quickly." A chorus of groans rose from the riders.

"Whoa man, let's talk about this." Sky held up his hands and backed away as Jason grew closer. "Y-you don't want to kill us."

"Yes, actually, I really do," came the reply. "Especially the demon. He escaped me once. Not again."

To which Deadlox replied with a string of curses that made even Mitch wince.

"Oi!" came Ashley's yell. "There is a lady present!"

Jason narrowed his eyes at Deadlox. "You're going down," he snarled, and raised his sword.

Which was instantly sliced in half by a familiar diamond axe.

All eyes turned to Mitch, who shrugged. "Don't like that guy. RUN!"

The four took off through the trees, Sky literally having to drag Deadlox along as he screamed that he would do some pretty colorful things to Jason.

After five minutes of curses and death threats to accent the sound of their pursuers, Sky finally just stuffed a bunch of leaves into the demon's mouth to shut him up.

They all finally stopped by a large spruce tree, panting and gasping for breath.

  "They...can't follow...on...horseback...through...the woods...fast..." Mitch wheezed. "Too...many trees..."

Ian collapsed onto a tree root, blinking up at Sky. "Well, now you know who Jason is."

  "Lovely fellow," Sky commented.

Deadlox finished spitting out the last of the leaves and decided to add a bit more about his opinion on Jason.
