The Tale Of The Crimson Archangel
Legends. Stories scattered through time. Mankind has grown quite fond of recounting the exploits of heroes and villains, forgetting so easily that they are remnants, byproducts, of a forgotten past. Man, born from dust, was strong, wise, and resourceful, but he was born into an unforgiving world. One day on the island of Patch in a forest, two little girls named Ruby Rose and Yang Xiao Long were getting ready for bed. As Summer Rose tucked the two young girls in, she offered a warm smile.
Summer: What story would you girls like to hear?
Ruby: What about....the Crimson Archangel?
Summer: The Crimson Archangel? That story isn't usually for little girls.
Yang: Please, Mom!
Summer chuckled as the two girls gave her puppy dog eyes.
Summer: Alright. The Crimson Archangel it is.
Summer then picks up a book of fairy tales and goes to the page where the tale of the Crimson Avenger was.
Summer: Once upon a time, Patch was once a small, but powerful city state before the formation of the Four Kingdoms of Remnant. But Patch was ruled by an evil tyrant named Minos. The people lived in fear under Minos's rule. Everyone who lived in the town was a prisoner as Minos refused anyone to leave. Anyone who wandered into town would be forced to live as Minos's prisoners. Minos sought to expand Patch into an all powerful kingdom that would stretch all across Remnant, but he lacked the means to do so. But one day, a stranger clad in black robes entered town. Immediately, the stranger was beset by Minos's men who sought to imprison him within Patch. When they removed the stranger's hood, they saw a man of red with eyes of fire. Minos's soldiers backed in fear. "What is this?!" one cried. "A monster wanders our land!" another cried. But the stranger remained silent as he walked past the men. But the further he walked into town, more of Minos's men surrounded the stranger.
Yang: And then he kicked their butts, right, Mom?
Summer chuckled at Yang's response.
Summer: As the stranger was surrounded by Minos's guards, Minos himself addressed from his palace. "Who dares step into my kingdom and cause trouble?" the tyrant asked. The stranger said nothing as he locked eyes with the tyrant. Minos felt a cold chill running up his spine as fear gripped him for the first time in his life. "Seize this monster!" Minos ordered. But as the guards moved to seize the stranger, the stranger pulled out a fiery sword and begins striking down Minos's guards. The guards were helpless against the stranger. The people watched with awe as the stranger cut down the people who harassed them for so long. When it was over, he cast his fiery eyes once more on the tyrant. He then raises his hands to the palace. Suddenly, the ground trembled as the palace was ripped from the ground. The people gasped as the stranger lifted the palace with ease. The stranger slams the palace into the ground, shattering it. From the rubble, Minos crawled out. When the cast eyes with the stranger, Minos froze in fear as the stranger approached him. The tyrant cried and pleaded for mercy, but the stranger had none to offer as he struck the tyrant down with his fiery sword. When it was over, there was an uneasy silence. The silence was broken by the sound of cheering. The people were finally freed of Minos's tyranny. The cheered for the stranger they called the Crimson Archangel. But the Crimson Archangel said nothing as he left town. To this day, no one knows who or what the Crimson Archangel is. Some say he was a wandering Hero who fought injustice wherever he went. Some say he was a spirit of vengeance sent by the Gods to punish Minos for his wicked ways. Some even say that he came from the stars for an unknown purpose. But one thing was certain. Patch would never know a tyrant's reign ever again as many would be tyrant's would cease their diabolical ambitions out of fear of incurring the wrath of the Crimson Archangel. Patch would and always will be a land of free people. The end.
As Summer ended the story, she was greeted by the awed expression on Ruby and Yang.
Ruby: Do...do you know who the Crimson Archangel is?
Summer: I don't know. But I think whoever or whatever the Crimson Archangel is, he did a lot of good for Patch. As far as I know, that's all that matters.
Summer's words left a profound impact on Ruby and Yang. She walked over to her daughters and kissed their foreheads.
Summer: Sweet dreams.
As Ruby and Yang drifted off to sleep, Summer left their room. Like her daughters, Summer too would ponder the tale of the Crimson Archangel. But what she didn't realize that this fairy tale had more basis in reality than she realized. And in the near future, Summer Rose would soon encounter the Crimson Archangel himself.
