As the Sun rose, Scourge and Summer Rose continued their journey to find the Temple that they seek. During this, Summer became curious about the Sith Lord. Between his mannerisms, his weapon and his personality, there was something different about Scourge. As they walked through the forest, Scourge stops and activates his Lightsaber.

Summer: What's wrong? 

Scourge initially says nothing as he surveys his surroundings. 

Scourge: We are not alone. 

As Scourge said this, rustling in the bushes was heard. Summer prepared her Sundered Rose weapon and moved to investigate the bush. When she does so, Summer is shocked to a child hiding. Summer immediately offers a helping hand to the frightened boy.

Summer: It's...it's okay. You're safe. 

Boy: Are you....are you here to kill the monster? 

Scourge: What monster? 

Boy: The monster who attacked....

Before the boy could finish his sentence, talking was heard. The boy immediately became scared, prompting Summer to comfort him. 

Summer: I need you to run to safety. There's a settlement not too far from here. You'll be safe. I promise. 

Without hesitation, Summer rushed to where the talking was heard. Scourge quickly followed her. Soon enough, they found themselves in the burning ruins of a village with bandits scouring the buildings for anything of value. It didn't take long for the bandits to notice Scourge and Summer. 

Bandit Leader: Look at what we got here, boys! So what brings you by here, love? 

Summer: What did you do here? 

Bandit Leader: Nothing really. Just me and the boys helping out to the unspent spoils of this dump. If you're looking to stake a claim, this place is claimed. Not beat it!

Scourge: Typical thieves. Opportunistic vultures eager to scavenge the carcass of a weakened foe. You are less than vermin. 

At this point, the bandits began to laugh at Scourge's threats. Summer kept her hand on her weapon while she tried to diffuse the situation. 

Summer: This doesn't have to end in violence. Tell us what happened and we can all walk away. 

Bandit Leader: Bold talk for someone surrounded, love. Now since I'm feeling generous, why don't you and your boyfriend fuck off and we'll let you go. 

Scourge: Are you the leader of this band of thugs?

Bandit Leader: I am. What's it to you?

Scourge: You are the only one I need to spare. 

Without warning, Scourge grips two bandits with Force Choke and snaps their necks. This prompts one of the bandits to fire her crossbow at Scourge, hitting the Sith Lord in his shoulder. Scourge didn't flinch as he threw his Lightsaber at the bandit, decapitating her. Despite being shocked by the violence Scourge displayed, Summer readied her weapon and fought the bandits. During the battle, Summer witnessed Scourge cutting down the bandits with no mercy. Soon enough, Summer cornered the bandit leader. 

Bandit Leader: You're gonna pay now, bitch!

As the bandit leader rushed at Summer with a knife, Summer promptly disarms the bandit and knocked him to the ground. Before Summer could question the man, Scourge grips the bandit with Force Choke. 

Summer: Don't kill him! We...

Scourge: I meant what I said. He is the only one with valuable information. Bandit, you're going to tell me everything that you transpired here. 

Bandit Leader: F...fuck you! I got nothing to say to you!

Scourge: Very well. 

Without warning, Scourge unleashes a torrent of Force Lightning on the bandit. The bandit screamed in agonizing pain as lightning coursed across his body. Summer was in shock by the lack of emotion on Scourge's face. Scourge eventually relents and grips the bandit once more. 

Scourge: My patience wears thin. Talk! Now!

Bandit Leader: A...alright! Alright! We...we didn't torch this place! It...it was already like that when we got here!

Summer: You're telling me you had nothing to do with the destruction here?

Bandit Leader: We've had this place scouted for weeks. We...we were gonna raid this place...but something....something got to this place before us. Some kind of Grimm!

As the bandit said this, Summer took the time to access the destruction that had consumed the village. She saw several indications that corroborated with the bandit's story. 

Summer: What kind of Grimm? 

Bandit Leader: Hell if I know. I had my boys stay back and let the Grimm do the work. 

Summer: You mean you knew that the Grimm were going to attack and you did nothing?! People died here!

Bandit Leader: Cry me a fucking river! Out here, it's kill or be killed. Survival of the fittest. 

Scourge: On that we can agree. 

Scourge then closed his fist, snapping the man's neck with the Force. Summer was taken aback by this. 

Summer: You...you killed that man!

Scourge: He will not be missed. He was a bandit. A cutthroat and a thief who preyed on the weak. He was right about one thing. It's kill or be killed. Survival of the fittest. The strong rule over the weak. 

Summer: Is that why you took pleasure in killing all those bandits? 

Scourge: Those bandits would have killed us. I'm sure an even worse fate would fall on you had you fallen into their hands. 

Summer was taken aback by the Sith Lord's words. Despite not agreeing with Scourge's actions. she couldn't help but agree that had she been captured by the bandits, a terrible fate would have fallen on her. As she pondered this, she watched as Scourge pulled the arrow out of his shoulder. 

Scourge: There is nothing left for us here. Let us leave. 

With that, Scourge and Summer left the destroyed village and continued their journey. But the events that occurred in the village would make things tense between Lord Scourge and Summer Rose.
