Chapter 6: Parents
A week had passed since Ben had been at the base. As he walked down to the banquet hall for breakfast, he greeted a few people here and there. He felt like destroying things every once in a while, but Rey was always there to help calm him and Poe always made him laugh.
He could sense it though- the distrust, the fear everyone felt around them.He still felt lonely. Ben understood that it would take him a long time to earn their trust, yet no one understood that he killed his father for a reason.
When he saw that girl that could use the Jedi ways to be stronger than the Sith, that's when he knew where he belonged. Feeling the dark nip at him, he walked in and quietly lay down. Little did he know that someone could sense his thoughts.
She moved through the room and sat down next to Ben, who was staring at something Leia couldn't see.
"Would you like to go fly in the Millennium Falcon?" she asked. Ben looked up and nodded.
Leia put someone in charge while they were gone. They walked out and climbed onto the ship. Leia sat down, Ben did the same and they were off.
"I can see your thoughts," said Leia, "I know why you did this."
Ben was looking out at the stars, sighing.
"I wish that people didn't fear me."
"Well, it's going to take a little while for them to accept you," Leia replied.
"At least you did it for a reason. I understand it will take you a while to give the information we need."
"The stars are beautiful," said Ben, attempting to change the subject.
"Ben," Leia said, "I know you're struggling, but Rey and Poe still accept you, and trust you somewhat."
Ben, choking back tears, said, "I can feel that they do. They help me realize where I belong, and you're the only one who was able to persuade me to come home."
"I hope that you can learn to use the Light side ways," said Leia. "Do you want to train?" "Yes," Ben replied.
"Luke can train you again," said Leia. Ben nodded.
"I want to learn to balance the Force more with Luke," Ben replied.
Ben got up and walked around the ship, looking at the dejarik table. Memories of him and Chewie playing with it came flooding back.
Feeling weak in his legs, he sat back down. He could feel his father's presence. The man he called father and the woman he called mother guided him to the warmth of the light. "Are you ready to go home?" asked Leia.
"Yes," Ben replied.
'Home,' he thought, 'I have a home to go to.' Tears now streamed down his face.
"I miss him too," said Leia.
