Chapter 7

Sabrina's POV:

It was 3:00, and I was still at a loss about the handcuffs. Puck could be so frustrating! We were still in my room, and I was completely out of ideas. Just then, a big bear lumbered into the room. I screamed, surprised. Goldilocks hadn't brought her bears in a while.

Momma Bear stretched out her humongous arms and yawned.

"Seriously?" I asked. "Can you at least help me with these handcuffs? Also, it's 3:00 PM; you shouldn't be tired."

Momma Bear walked out, seemingly offended. I sighed. "It's no use, Puck." Then I laid down on the floor.

Puck looked at me. "Uh," he said. "Aren't you wondering why the three bears are here?"

I sat up. "What do you mean?"

The fairy fidgeted. "Umm...the car?"

I turned away to hide my blush. "Well, that can't happen again! The bears are probably just here for visiting."

"But today is the election thingy whatever it's called," Puck reminded me. "When Charming makes a big speech and other stuff that's super boring."

I stood up, dragging Puck up with me. "Wait." I counted all the people in my head. Granny, Mom, Dad, Me, Puck, Daphne, Goldi, Red, the three bears, and Uncle Jake. Oh no.

Puck looked at me. "I'm guessing the look on your face is because you figured out something very bad?"

I nodded. "Come on; let's make sure our suspicions aren't true."

We both ran out of my room and down the stairs. Uncle Jake was in the living room. He raised an eyebrow when we ran up to him. "Why are the three bears here?" I demanded.

He smiled. "Oh, yeah. I forgot to tell you: Charming was elected the mayor again. So the three bears came over so we would drive everyone there. I was just about to go start the car."

I scowled. "Please, please, please, tell me you got a new car and it's big enough to fit everyone!"

Jake smiled again. "Nope. I'm using that spell again."

"But don't you remember what happened last time?!" I exclaimed.

"I do. But we have a new car roof and it's stronger, so..." Then he got up and went outside to the car.

I glared at Puck. "You are NOT sitting next to me."

He raised their handcuffed hands in response. I could see he wasn't happy with this. That was another odd thing.

Daphne ran into the living room. "Come on!" she shouted. "It's time to go!"

I exchanged glances with Puck and we slowly walked after her. I just hope that nothing'll happen...

We got in the car. The inside fit everyone again. Dad was in the passenger seat and Uncle Jake was driving. The three bears were on the left, close to the door. Then Goldilocks and Mom. Then Red and Daphne. And me and Puck. Puck was next to the door like last time.

I swallowed.

We started driving.

Everything was okay. A minute passed. Two minutes. I started to relax. Everything was going to be okay.

But then...Baby Bear moved. He was probably just excited that we were going to see an election, for some reason, but that movement made Poppa Bear tilt a little to the side. Against the window.

My heart stopped. Please no. Please please please no!!!!

Nothing happened. I let out a sigh of relief. And then a small crack spread through the window glass when Poppa Bear pulled away.

And the window shattered.

Silence. No one moved. I was frozen, hoping this was all a hallucination. But I could feel Uncle Jake started to drive faster, and he was muttering, "Not again, not again!" Dad looked back and saw Puck next to me. He shook his head and muttered something, then shouted at Jake. "Drive faster! Last time will not happen!"

I cringed. So did Puck.

And...the car started shrinking. Slowly. I tried to scoot away from Puck, but Daphne was next to me and it became impossible. My little sister grinned at me as if to say, You and Puck are gonna kiss and I'm gonna make sure of it.

I glared at her, feeling Puck's shoulder touch mine. I tried even more to tilt away, which made Daphne crash into Red, Red crash into Mom, and Mom crash into Goldi. So technically, the domino effect. Then, when the car took a turn, Goldi crashed into Mom, Mom into Red, Red into Daphne, Daphne into me, and me into Puck.

He blushed, trying to push me away.

Daphne smiled happily when he couldn't. Well she wasn't next to her...maybe crush and enemy!

Over the next two minutes, the car got even smaller, which left me practically sitting in Puck's lap.

I was blushing super hard and so was Puck. Which was weird. Dad looked back again and literally shouted at Uncle Jake, "DRIVE FASTER!!"

I felt my face turning bright red and I covered my face with my hands. Puck frowned, trying to escape the car. No use.

The car shrank even more. I was pushed closer to Puck, making our noses almost touch.

Dad shouted, "When are we going to be there?!"

Uncle Jake answered, "We still have five minutes at this rate!"

Dad glanced at me and Puck like he was about to die. The expression on his face was priceless, but right now I seriously didn't care because Puck was too close for comfort.

The car shrank more. I found my nose pressed against Puck's and I thought, Please don't let it happen! Let last time happen! When our lips never touched! Please please please please please!!!!

Puck's wings popped out of his back and he started flapping them hard, trying to back away.

"Two more minutes!" Uncle Jake called, flooring the accelerator.

I squeezed my eyes shut as I felt the car get smaller.

Puck's POV:

I stared at Sabrina as our noses touched. This is it, I thought. We–we're gonna kiss...

"Two more minutes!" Uncle Jake called, flooring the accelerator.

I saw Sabrina squeeze her eyes shut and I flapped my wings, which had appeared, harder.

And then the car shrank even more. I closed my eyes.

And our lips touched. My wings froze, then flopped downward. My eyes popped open and I stared at Sabrina, whose eyes were also open. I tried to pull away, but Daphne was pushing Sabrina from the other side, and our lips pressed together harder. My eyes widened, and from the corners of them, I saw Henry glance back at us and have a meltdown.

I felt like my face was on fire. And that wasn't normal for me. Seriously, that WASN'T NORMAL!!!!

"We're almost there!" Jake shouted, seeing me and Sabrina.

I looked at Sabrina and she met my eyes. Our lips weren't just pressed together anymore, we were kissing.

<<Small time skip brought to you by Goldfish crackers, the snack that smiles back>>

The car doors popped open and me and Sabrina fell out, her landing on top of me. Again again.

She quickly stood up, flustered, and I was pulled after her.

Daphne jumped out of the car, hopping around like crazy. "That was AWESOME!!" she shouted. "You and Sabrina KISSED!!!"

Henry stomped out of the car. "Sabrina! You're in BIG trouble!" he yelled.

"But it wasn't my fault! It was the spell's fault!" Sabrina cried.

"I SAW!" Henry exclaimed. "You two were ACTUALLY KISSING!!!!"

Daphne turned to me with eyebrows raised. "Really?" she asked.

My face grew hotter. "No! It was—like Sabrina said—the stupid spell's fault!"

But both me and Sabrina knew better than that...

Charming walked up to us. "Took you long enough!" he shouted. Then he noticed all the people/animals getting out of the now-normal-sized car. "Umm...how did you all fit?"

"We didn't," Sabrina muttered from beside me. We edged away from each other.

Charming raised his eyebrows, but gestured to us. "Well then come." He eyed mine and Sabrina's handcuffed hands. I glanced at them and saw that our fingers were entwined. I quickly pulled away.

Charming rolled his eyes and stomped forward.

Sabrina started forward, too, but I stopped her. She looked back at me. I mouthed, We're talking about what happened.

She sighed and nodded. I didn't want to, either, but we had to. I had NO IDEA what was happening!

<<Major time skip this time brought to you by tumblr>>

I flew Sabrina and Daphne back to Relda's house. We entered, unlocking the locks. I pulled Sabrina upstairs. Daphne followed.

"Nope," Sabrina said. "You're staying here."

"Why?" Daphne asked. "Are you two gonna kiss?"

I flushed. "No!"

She raised an eyebrow. "Then let me come."

I sighed.

Sabrina agreed, but she said, "You're not telling anyone anything."

Daphne nodded enthusiastically.

We headed upstairs and went into my room. Sabrina and me slumped against the door when we were inside. Daphne sat criss-cross on the grass.

"So?" she prompted.

Sabrina knocked her head against the door repeatedly. "Daphne, you can't tell ANYONE! Not even Red!"

Her little sister nodded.

"I—" Sabrina glanced at me. "I...we–we actually did...kiss..."

Daphne bit down on the palm of her hand.

I covered my face with my hands. "But this isn't supposed to happen! I–I'm 13! Th–that doesn't make sense! I–I'm supposed to be 11!"

I put my head on my knees, hiding my face. "I–it just doesn't make sense..."

Sabrina patted my shoulder. "It'll be okay." She turned to Daphne. "Th–there's also one more thing..."

Daphne looked at us intently. "What?"

I shook my head frantically at Sabrina. "No!"

She looked at me. "You want the chimps to say it?"

I scowled. "This is a secret! Daphne will NOT hear!"

Daphne put her hands up. "Wait. Back to the kiss. YOU GUYS KISSED??????!!!!!!!"

I glared, knowing I was blushing. "Yeah..."

"Why??"

"Um. I–I don't really know..."

I looked at Sabrina desperately. Help. There was one thing I'd never admit to her. That I actually liked her... Yes, in that way...

We heard the front door open and everyone came in. I turned to Daphne. "Go."

She did, probably knowing that she wouldn't get anything more out of us.

"Come on," Sabrina said, dragging me to her room. "I have a question."

I followed her, since I had no choice, and she pulled me into her room.

"I have a question," she repeated, closing the door. "Why have you been acting so strange?"

I hadn't expected that. I laughed nervously. "What do you mean?"

"You know perfectly well," she replied.

I ignored her. "Let's go downstairs. Don't you hear the old lady calling?"

It was and wasn't a distraction. Granny Relda really was calling.

Sabrina scowled and followed me down stairs.

Henry glared at me as I passed him. I averted my eyes, trying not to blush.

We sat down, and Relda brought food to the table. I looked at my plate. I wasn't hungry, so I pushed it away. That probably didn't help the idea that I was acting strange, but I really didn't care right now.

Relda cleared her throat. "So..." she said. "Billy's officially the mayor again..."

Henry glared at her. "So? That doesn't matter! What does matter, is that Sabrina kissed an Everafter! And I don't want her involved with one!"

I looked down at the table. And thought about all that had happened since I started living with the Grimms.

A lot.

Henry pointed a finger at me. "That is NOT happening again!"

I muttered, "It already has..."

"What?" Sabrina's dad asked.

"Nothing."

"Tell me."

"Nothing."

"Tell me!"

"Henry," Veronica patted his hand. "Leave the boy alone."

Henry growled and walked away.

The rest of dinner was spent in awkward silence.

When everyone finished eating, Jake announced. "Well, looks like Puck and Sabrina are sleeping on the trampoline again..."

"What about me?" Daphne complained, still shoving food into her mouth. Okay, I guess not everyone was done eating.

Veronica shook her head. "Young lady, you're sleeping in your own room."

"But—"

"No buts."

Daphne scowled and stomped up to her and Red's room, with her friend following.

Henry had come back just in time to hear the trampoline part. "What?" he complained. "They're sleeping together?!"

Sabrina scowled and raised our handcuffed hands. "Would you rather we sleep on the same bed?"

Henry shook his head angrily.

I sighed and took Sabrina upstairs to my room. We went back to the spot where the trampoline was.

Sabrina checked her watch. "Wow," she said. "It's already 9:00 PM."

We got on the trampoline. After a few minutes of extremely awkward silence, I sighed loudly. Sabrina looked over at me. We were laying as far away from each other as we could.

"What?" she asked.

I looked away. "I really hate this awkwardness..."

"Me too." Sabrina also sighed. "Why's everything so different now?"

I blushed, remembering the first time we had slept on this trampoline. I had told Sabrina that she didn't need the makeup. That had been very stupid of me.

Sabrina seemed to be remembering the same thing, because I could also see her blushing.

"There's too much blushing going on," I complained.

She agreed. "I wish everything would go back to normal..."

I raised an eyebrow. "You mean when we hated each other?"

She frowned at me. "I–I never hated you..."

I was take aback by that. "What do you mean? I thought we were like sworn enemies, or something?"

She shook her head.

Well. That changed everything.

Sabrina cleared her throat. "Well, um...why are you acting so strange?"

Back to that again? Ugh.

"I'm not acting strange," I insisted.

"Mm-hmm," she answered.

"Fine. I think you know the answer."

After that, we tried to sleep in even more awkward silence. Again.

<< Time skip brought to you by the TARDIS>>

We were woken by Daphne jumping up and down on the trampoline. "Wake up!" she called. "It's time for school!"

I groaned. "Not school! I'm not going! I'm the King of Faerie and I don't have to go to school!"

"You have to," Daphne said. "Granny's orders! And...you and Sabrina have all the same classes!"
