~Shadow
Sabrina's POV:
"We're helping," I said, crossing my arms and staring determinedly at the adults looking at us.
"No, you're not," Dad responded firmly, also crossing his arms. "You're kids."
"So? We helped in the war! I don't see why we can't here!"
Dad sighed. "We don't want you getting into any more danger. We don't even know what the Scarlet Hand want yet."
"Revenge!" I exclaimed, raising my voice. "They only want revenge! We can use the barrier spell"—I pointed at the paper with scrawled writing that Dad was holding tightly—"and we can get them all back in the tunnels. When we're sure they're all there, we cast the spell! That's all we have to do!"
"Done and done!" Daphne added.
"It's not that easy," Mom said.
"We know," I said. "Which is why we have an insider! She knows everything they're doing!"
"Who?" Granny Relda asked.
"You'll see." I put my hands on my hips. "We can do this too. Maybe Baba Yaga can help us figure out exactly who's in the Scarlet Hand now, a couple of us go scope out the place and look for Mordred and Morgan, and Celeste will obviously be a huge advantage."
Snow sighed and Charming pinched the bridge of his nose.
But they could all tell we weren't backing down, so finally, Dad said, "Okay. But you have to do exactly what we say."
"Got it!" Daphne exclaimed.
"Now that we have the barrier spell," Uncle Jake started, "we have to have a look around that fortress. Henry, Charming, Snow, and I will go." He held up his finger as Puck and I started to complain. "But you, Ember, and Puck—maybe Daphne when she turns ten—can go when we actually have to spy. I trust that you have your 'insider.' Veronica and Mom should go back to Baba Yaga's and see if she has that spell Sabrina mentioned. The rest of you—research."
I furrowed my brows and went through everything he said in my mind. "Fine."
Meanwhile, Daphne was jumping up and down, grinning. "I'm gonna be ten soon! I just remembered! I completely forgot!"
"That means fire and twig will also be ten then. Technically speaking," Puck said.
Daphne paused her hopping up and down for a moment to glare at him—about what he'd said about Pin—but then resumed.
"Y'all better get me good presents," Daphne commanded, skipping off to the living room to search through the books.
"I'm gonna get her a twig," Puck told me, grinning stupidly, and I playfully slapped his arm.
"I'm sure she'll just love that. You probably won't even get murdered," I replied.
"Yup."
"Wanna research later? I heard the author is really sad because of Supernatural season 10," I said. "Maybe we could rewatch some of season 1. Y'know, the happy season."
Puck nodded, then asked, "Where'd the fourth wall go?"
I shrugged. "No idea. Whatever."
I grabbed his hand and led him upstairs. My room now had a couch in it and Puck immediately flopped down, grabbing the remote and turning the invisible-and-mute-to-adults-TV on.
It truly was an amazing invention.
I sat down next to him and sighed happily. If you ignored the Scarlet Hand being back and what had happened to Puck, everything was perfect.

"SABRINA! PUCK! WHERE'D YOU GO?" Daphne's voice shouted from downstairs. "GET YOUR LAZY BUTTS DOWN HERE AND HELP US!"
"YOU KNOW I DON'T READ OR EVEN TOUCH BOOKS!" Puck shouted back.
"SUCKS FOR YOU!"
I laughed. "Come on, we'd better get down there before Daphne beheads us."
Puck nodded and started walking out the door. He stopped abruptly in the doorway and spun around to face me, his lips quickly meeting mine before I could say anything.
I could see his smirk at my expression as he kept walking.
Pin's POV:
"LET ME READ!" I shouted at Daphne and tried to push her away, but she just kept trying to grab the book I was reading out of my hands.
"YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE HELPING US NOT READING YOUR OWN STUPID BOOK!" she shouted right in my ear.
I winced and scowled at her. "But all of it is extremely boring!"
"Too bad!"
From the corner of my eye, I saw Red, Puck, Sabrina, and Ember grinning at us.
I really did not understand why they always looked like that when Daphne and I were next to each other. It made no sense.
I was pretty sure that they would not be smiling if they were in my current spot, with Daphne abusing my poor book and my ears with her shouting.
Red finally got to her senses and pulled Daphne away. "Calm down," she told her slowly as if talking to a baby.
I smiled to myself at this mental image and glanced over sadly at the very tall pile of voluminous books that we had to read.
Sabrina had shoved a book in Puck's hands and held his hands firmly attached to it even when he started to sneeze.
Miraculously, his sneezing died down after about ten minutes, and he sniffed and glanced down at the book, his nose red. "Why can I read this? It has a bunch of old words that are super confusing and I understand them." He looked at Sabrina worriedly. "I'm dying, aren't I?"
She rolled her eyes. "It's either some Everafter thing or maybe teleporting with Celeste changed something."
"Maybe." He shrugged and sniffed again. "My nose hurts from all the sneezing," he mumbled.
"You'll be fine," Sabrina said tiredly.
Ember nodded. "You're not gonna die from a book. It's impossible."
"You never know!" Puck exclaimed, frowning at her and Sabrina.
I sighed and glanced over at Daphne, who was arguing with Red about something. Most likely me.
"Fine, I will help," I muttered, walking over and picking up a heavy book from the stack. "You are welcome."
"You're welcome," Daphne corrected and I stuck my tongue out at her in response.
She glowered and tossed a book aside, picking a new one. "That wasn't helping me except with how to bake dragon scale pie."
"That is...strange," I murmured.
"Yeah," she said. "More like creepy. I hope Granny never makes that. It would be horrible!"
"But...scales are as tough as diamonds," I mused. "How would you make a pie out of them?"
"Don't know, don't care."
"Okay."
"They better come back with info soon," Daphne muttered after a couple moments. "I swear I'm gonna die of boredom."
"It is not possible to die of boredom," I told her.
"IT'S A FIGURE OF SPEECH!"
"Right."
A/N:
So this is kinda a short chappie, sorry about that. But I've decided, and this book will end in the 50s (chapters). The last chapter will be titled Last Chapter, so you'll know, just in case some people don't want to read it right away.
I'll also give a warning for when there are five chapters left.
It's all coolio.
