Chapter 36: Truth or Dare Part 7
Henry's POV:
"We might need the barrier spell again," I mused. "If we can get them all into those underground tunnels, then maybe we can trap them in there."
"If so," Jake said, "we have to get Morgan and Mordred out first. If they're still alive."
"Don't be so morbid." Mom slapped his arm. "Honestly, Jacob."
"I'm just saying!"
Veronica laughed quietly.
"Are we going to Baba Yaga's?" I asked.
"Where else?" Mom answered.
"I don't know, maybe somewhere without a cannibal?" I grumbled.
"Henry..."
"Sorry."
Snow White smirked at me. "Little Henry scared of his mom?"
I glared at her. "Why don't you go stop Charming from wandering off?"
She looked around, and sure enough, Charming had stopped walking and was staring at the candy store.
She grabbed his arm and pulled him along. "Where's Tobias?"
I shrugged. "Probably already there."
"But he doesn't have the Wolf in him anymore."
I raised an eyebrow at her. "He left before us."
"Oh."
"Why can't we just use the car?" Jake complained.
"Because walking is healthy for you," Mom replied. "Also because I need to stretch my legs."
"Mooooooommmm."
"No."
Jake threw up his arms. "Fine! I'll just wait until my legs fall off but y'know, why would that stop me from walking even more?"
"Yeah, why would that stop you?" Veronica asked, grinning as he glared at her.
I sighed and wondered what the kids were up to...
Sabrina's POV:
"GIVE ME MY PHONE BACK!"
"Only if you catch me!"
"I'M GONNA MURDER YOU!"
"I'd like to see you TRY!"
Puck laughed as he ran around the house, clutching my phone tightly. Elvis howled from his spot on the kitchen counter (don't ask me how he got there).
I put on an extra burst of speed and knocked Puck down, managing to grab my phone from him while he was distracted by Elvis licking his face.
"Hey, that's not fair!" he complained, pushing Elvis's head away.
"Who said anything about fair?" I asked cheekily and stood up, offering him a hand.
He took it, then pulled me back down, laughing.
"Screw you," I muttered.
Daphne's POV:
"Use contractions!" I exclaimed, exasperated at Pinocchio's inability to speak normally.
"Why?" he asked.
"Because it's what NORMAL PEOPLE DO!"
"But we are not NORMAL PEOPLE!"
"He has a point," Red observed.
"NO HE DOESN'T!"
"Yes, I do."
"No, you don't."
"Yes."
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
"Yes."
I pulled on my braids and sighed loudly. "This is tortuuuuuurrrrrreeeee. I wanna DO SOMETHING."
"Me too," Red agreed. "We should be allowed to help."
"Yes." Pinocchio nodded.
"Yeah," I corrected him.
"What?"
"We don't say yes we say yeah, unless we want to sound like old people."
He frowned. "...Yeah."
"Yes!" I pumped my fist in the air happily.
"I thought you said it had to be yeah," Pin said, looking so confused I almost felt bad for him.
Almost.
"This is going to be so hard," I whined, dragging a hand down my face.
"I don't understand."
"Of course you don't. You're the smartest person in the world APPARENTLY, but you don't understand contractions!"
He just shrugged in response and Red tried not to giggle (she failed miserably).
"I'm gonna die," I complained.
"Why do you say gonna if the proper way is to say going to?" Pin asked, tilting his head to the side.
"Why say going to when you can simply say gonna?" I retorted.
"Because it is proper! Gonna is not proper!"
"So what?! No one cares, not even adults speak like you do except if they're stupid, stuck up people."
"Rude," he muttered.
"Is it THAT HARD TO SPEAK LIKE A NORMAL HUMAN BEING?"
"I am not a human being."
"A NORMAL BEING. HAPPY?"
"I guess."
"Red learned how to speak like a normal person, so you can too."
"But she didn't spend all her life traveling the world and learning!"
"So what?!"
"This is extremely fun to watch," Puck commented from the doorway, and I whipped my head toward him.
"Puck, can you somehow make him speak normal?" I asked.
He shrugged and looked at Pin. "Sorry, twig, but if you wanna impress a girl you better do what she says first."
I blanched but Pin just asked, "Twig? Really?"
Puck nodded, grinning. "We've got marshmallow, twig, and..." He squinted at Red. "Fire. Hey, those all go together!"
I rolled my eyes. "Good for you."
"Truth or Dare?" he asked in response.
Just because Pin was here didn't mean that I would give up on a game of Truth or Dare, so I nodded happily.
Soon we were all seated on the floor and Puck asked, "Red! Truth or dare?"
"Truth," she replied automatically.
The fairy made a face. "Fine. Let's see... What's something that you don't want someone in here to know?"
"That's easy." She glanced sheepishly at all of us. "I'm secretly hoping, like really hoping, that Puckabrina will kiss and Pinaphne will kiss right now."
"Thanks," Sabrina said dryly, grinning as I turned red and Pin furrowed his brows in confusion.
"Okay," Red said. "Daphne, truth or dare?"
I only hesitated for a split second before saying, "Dare."
Red smiled. "I'll be nice. Lick a bar of soap for fifteen seconds."
"Ewwww. That's gross."
"That's the point."
I grumbled and took the bar of soap that Puck had dashed to get as soon as Red had said her dare.
I scrunched my eyes closed and stuck out my tongue, touching the surface of the soap.
"You have to actually lick it," Red reminded.
I glared at her and mustered up all my strength, licking the bar of soap, managing to keep my tongue there for fifteen seconds, like Red had said.
Then I chucked it across the room.
"Good job," Puck said sarcastically and laughed.
I frowned at him, then turned to Pin, still trying to get the taste of soap out of my mouth. "Truth or dare?"
He narrowed his eyes. "Dare?"
I grinned widely. "Go outside and say I love you to the first person you see, and you have to hug them."
He paled. "What?"
"You heard me."
He slowly got up and we followed, Sabrina automatically handing me her phone to videotape.
Pin headed out the door, casting us an evil look, and the rest of us rushed over to the window that looked over the front of the house.
"Shit," Puck said, pointing at the group of adults heading this way. "They're back." He burst out laughing. "This is gonna be good!"
I held up the phone, ready to start videoing. (A/N: Is that even a word?) "We should start a YouTube channel for this stuff."
"Good idea," Sabrina said, high-fiving me.
I started the video when Pin ran up to Mom and hugged her tightly. I could see his mouth shaping the words, "I love you."
Mom looked up at the window we were staring through, but she only saw my head ducking down at the last moment.
I peeked over the windowsill a couple of moments later and saw her shaking her head in our direction.
I grinned to myself and dragged Puck, Sabrina, and Red downstairs. We were going to help with whatever was going on with the Scarlet Hand if the grown-ups liked it or not.
A/N:
I honestly feel really bad for saying each time that I'll update soon because it never works out.
You can blame it on school, y'all!
(Btw I'm from Illinois but saying y'all is fun)
So yeah.
