Lola was in the dungeons, she really wanted to see Snape. She had grown to like him as he was so kind to her that night at the astronomy tower..
She knew he said she could visit anytime but she didn't have the nerve up until now
She knocked on his door and he welcomed her inside, I say 'welcomed' but it was more of a nod and sigh followed by pointing in the direction he wished her to go

"How are you feeling Miss Scott?" He drawled slowly as he sat down on the table beside her
"I'm going crazy, I actually think I'm going crazy. I've written a 100 owls for Callum and then burnt each one instead of sending them" she said taking her head in her hands
"Why would you even consider sending word to him? If he clearly doesn't care?" Severus sighed
"BECAUSE I MISS HIM!" Lola raged

"Yes, I know you do. This is going to take time Miss Scott" he grabbed the girl staring deep into her eyes feeling every stitch of pain she did
"But you didn't get over it" She said quietly not wanting to upset him
Severus nodded, she was right who was he to judge. He still lived in the memory of Lily himself up until recently
"I don't know how long it will take, but you will move on. You must believe me on this because I have only now learnt that it's true myself. I always assumed that I could never move on from Lily, but just recently I found out that I actually have" he soothed tucking a stand of hair behind her ears

"Lily?" She quizzed interested to know more
"That was her name" he smiled sadly unsure of what else to say
"Was? I'm sorry. And here's me worrying about myself" she scorned herself
"Lets not worry about that ok? Like I said, I've finally moved on" Severus said with a slight smile.
"What do you mean by that Professor? Is there someone new in your life?" She inquired eagerly
She was happy that he may have found happiness
"Yes, There is someone new, but we are not together yet" he explained
"what if she rejects you?" Lola sighed sadly, the thought of that would be awful after all he's been through, rejection was also a big fear of hers, she did not envy his situation.
"That's why I cannot tell her how I feel, the fear of rejection is too strong" he sighed getting up and pacing the room anxiously

"Maybe in time she will show her feelings to you in some way, give you the green light so to speak, I hope so Professor" she smiled at him
"You hope so? Why?" He asked in complete surprise, awaiting her response nervously
"Well, because you are a kind person and you deserve to be happy, and she would be an idiot if she wasn't interested" Lola explained with a kind smile on her perfect face. Severus could see that she meant every word. The angry girl with an attitude problem actually had a kind and honest heart

"Thanks for listening to me Professor, I appreciate it" Lola smiled as she decided to leave and get some rest. "No need to thank me, I should be thanking you for your listening" he chucked
"Well, goodnight Proffy" she joked "Call me Severus if you like" he mumbled dryly
"Severus? That's a really beautiful name! But I will only use it if you promise to call me Lola or Lo'" she grinned and left the room closing the door behind her.

Severus couldn't help but smile to himself, he felt a warmth inside. And he hadn't felt anything like it for a long time, it almost felt unnatural. The girl actually thought that if the 'Lady' in question rejected him - she'd be an idiot!, 'Maybe I should tell her how I feel' He thought to himself
'What am I doing? This is entirely inappropriate, not to mention the fact she wouldn't want an older, ugly man like me anyway' he argued internally. No, he couldn't tell her. Not yet.....
