It was the Monday and they had returned to the castle the night before, deep down Lola wished she was still in Spinners End. Lola ate dinner at the great hall but she felt depressed. She wanted to tell Severus that she liked him but she couldn't, he really liked This other woman. So there was no point in admitting her feelings and embarrassing herself in the process

She was also happy for him in one way, he was a good friend to her when she needed it the most so to see him happy would in turn make her happy. Except she knew he didn't have the courage to tell the woman how he felt, she just hoped he found the strength within himself one day.

She prodded her at her pasta and sighed in annoyance, the thought of him with someone else put her off her food, she knew she just had to except it and try not to fall too deep. She was already hurting over Callum and she didn't need anymore pain.

She looked up at the staff table and her eyes locked with his, he smiled at her openly and it just reminded her how much she wanted him. 'I have to keep away from him' she told herself glumly. Returning to her food she managed to clear her plate. But every mouthful felt like an effort.
She felt eyes burning through her and looked towards Severus he was watching her intently, but as soon as he saw her catch him he looked away with a scowl.

Lola just couldn't deal with any of it, she picked up her bag and exited the hall. What she didn't know was that Severus looked extremely worried as she fled the hall so fast
'She knows I like her... She's disgusted' he thought to himself

Lola ran to the black lake and perched herself against a tree, she needed to let it all out.
Severus followed as he always secretly did, he couldn't resist any chance to hear the beautiful girl sing.
He didn't hide this time, he just stood back in the shadows hoping she wouldn't spot him, he remained silent and his heart burst into flames just listening to her, the words pained him so much. She finally moved on from Callum and had found someone else, he felt jealous

"Just tell him" a rough deep voice rang out from behind her
"What? No, I can't" she smiled seeing that it was Severus, he sat down beside her
"You're not going to get him if he doesn't know you like him" Severus said sadly, it hurt him that she wanted some other guy.

"I want to but I can't, you know that" Lola sighed in frustration she was getting annoyed by how oblivious he was
"Yes you can Lola, if he rejects you then more fool him but you should at least take the chance"
Severus smiled

Lola didn't know what to do, should she take the risk? She decided to do it, but not in words.
She was just going to go for it and see what happens... The worst that could happen is he would push her away, she just had to take the risk
"Severus...." She said quietly looking down at the grass beneath her.
"Yes?" He asked turning to look at her, looking at her Stunning eyes in the moonlight

Lola brought her lips to his and kissed them gently, before pulling away
"Now you know who it is" she blushed, wishing the ground would open up and swallow her...
