Lola was consumed by all the stress at breakfast, she avoided eye contact with Severus because it hurt her too much.
He didn't even acknowledge that she told him she loved him.

She felt eyes on her and looked to the other end of the table and Callum was watching her intently. She looked away as fast as she could, his presence just made everything worse.

After breakfast she decided to spend her free period in the library, she knew there would be nobody there... If she went back to the Slytherin common room she would no doubt have Malfoy in her face.

She was stopped by Severus as she walked out of the great hall, she looked at him sceptically. "Lola, please understand that I'm just scared" he pleaded with her. "Do you think I'm not? After Callum I'm terrified of getting hurt again! And what did you go and do?" She snarled and attempted to walk away.

"You have to see reason, it's not what you think Lola, I don't want us to end! I'm just worried that you will leave me, I can't give you half of what he can!"
Lola didn't know what to say, she wanted to tell him that he was worth much more than Callum, and that she'd never leave him but what was the point? He didn't believe her anyway.

"You have no idea what you're doing to me Severus, you really just don't get it." She sighed and walked away leaving Severus standing there looking frustrated.

Later that day Lola decided to go and see him, she needed to set everything straight and he needed to shut up and listen. She thought he was being irrational, and insecure.

Callum had tried to talk to her again a few hours before and she told him to leave her alone. Lola knew he wouldn't and that he'd keep trying but that's something she was trying not to think about.

Severus looked at her desperately when he saw her, rising from his seat as she entered the room. "Severus, I need you to understand that I am not interested in Callum, when we kissed it was the happiest moment of my life, I felt like everything made sense. Now, you've been acting like none of my feelings matter, that I'm just some idiot who's going to hurt you.... But I'm not Severus." She explained.
Severus wanted to cut in to say his piece but Lola wasn't finished.
"I told you that I love you..." She sighed, and left before he could say something else to upset her.
