First thing in the morning Severus dropped by Dumbledore's office on the way to breakfast
"Aah Severus, I'm hoping everything is well.." The old man smiled adjusting his glasses
"They are most certainly NOT well Albus, what is that vile creature that's new to my house?"
Severus cried in disparity
"Miss Scott? Yes, she's quite the character that one, I assume it will take a while to get through to her Severus, you must be patient. You know as well as anyone that people do not behave in such a bad way without reason...you too have turned to the dark side" Dumbledore smiled
"I want her re-sorted! I want her out of Slytherin house and I am not taking no for an answer!"
He spat with aggression

"Please calm down dear boy, I shall not be removing the girl from Slytherin house and there is nothing you can do about it. Give the girl some detentions to adjust her attitude"
"Do you not think I've tried that, she didn't turn up! And when I threatened her with more she made it quite clear that she wouldn't attend!" Severus sighed through the stress
"Exactly, you threatened her. Has it crossed you mind at all that maybe the girl reacts that way to threatening behaviour? Maybe if you showed some...kindness to the girl.." Severus cut him off Straight away
"Kindness? I don't do kindness and I certainly won't do kindness with the spawn of satan!" He growled
Dumbledore sighed in frustration. "Severus, remember what I said...there must be something that's made her that way! have some compassion. Now if we are done here I would quite like to go for breakfast, I have an overwhelming urge for crumpets" the old man smiled and rose from his chair.

Severus skulked into the hall with his robes billowing behind him, turning to glare at Lola Scott
She was sat pushing her food around her plate, she looked tired and distracted
Severus felt something deep inside, could it have been the compassion Albus has talked of?
'No! I don't care for the twisted imp!' He scolded himself and took his usual seat at the staff table
His eyes were transfixed on her though out his meal, 'why is this girl so damn infuriating?' He asked himself. 'And how can she possibly be so pretty at the same time?'
Lola looked up from the table and towards the staff table, she rolled her eyes at Severus
Which he did not appreciate and blushed awkwardly

After breakfast Severus followed Lola out of the hall and down into the dungeons when he tried his luck,
"Miss Scott?" He said gently with no malice. The girl swung around and glared at him.
"Yes Professor Snape" she muttered quietly not knowing where to look
"Dumbledore has specifically requested you attend detention with me tonight, he also said that if you did not he would report back to your parents" he lied, well the detention bit was true
"What? No, he can't tell my parents over that! That's unfair!" She screeched
"Life is unfair Miss Scott" he seethed
"And don't I fucking know it" she spat and stormed off towards the common room
'Give me strength' Severus thought to himself and headed to the potions classroom to teach
He wondered to himself if the little shit would even turn up to detention..

It was after lunch and Severus had 6th and 7th years 'great' he sighed
The students entered the room and he scanned through them to find Lola, she was sat next to Ginny Weasley taking turns between scowling at Weasley and Scowling at him
"Glad you could make it Miss Scott, it's not like you to attend a lesson" he smirked placing the flubbedworms down on her table, she picked it up and threw it at him, hitting him in the back of the head. The class erupted in laughter, He saw red and lost it.

He grabbed the girl by the arm and dragged her outside, and shoved her against the wall by her neck, she looked terrified
"Why are you tormenting me?" He roared furiously. He could see the tears forming in her eyes and so he let her go, she collapsed in a pile on the floor.
"I....I'm sorry I should not have done that" he tried to soothe but sounded as cold as ever
He felt uncomfortable and reached out his hand to help her up. She took it refusing to make eye contact with him, for once she was silent.

"Miss Scott...I apologise for my actions they were inappropriate. And when the headmaster finds out i will most likely loose my job" he sighed and continued "we will go to Dumbledore after class and I will explain what happened" Severus returned to the classroom looked defeated and everyone turned to look at him, Lola entered shortly afterwards and took her seat quietly
She got on with her work not looking up once during the double lesson

After class Severus told her to stay behind and she did as asked silently still refusing to make eye contact with him, he felt guilty and he knew he had to do the right thing
"Miss Scott, we shall go to the headmaster now" he told her clearly the fear ripping through him like a sword
"No" the girl mumbled
"I'm sorry....?" Severus asked rather unsure of what she meant by that one word
"I don't want you to loose your job, it stays between us. I deserved it anyway" she sighed finally bringing her sad eyes to his
"Why?" He asked very confused and surprised by the girl
"Because, I'm the one with the problem...and I cannot promise it will change anytime soon because that's just the way I am nowadays" she sighed and picked up her bag
Before exiting the room she turned around to say something, but changed her mind
