61. Confessing is too hard

"Alright, you sods, time to start band practice!" Murdoc received disappointed looks from both Russel and Noodle. "Come on!" He nagged. "The songs won't play themselves! When you familiarise yourselves with them enough we're going to record them so that I can edit them."

"Alright man." Russel sighed, giving in. "So what's the plan for today? What are you going to torture us with on a Monday?" Murdoc decided to ignore Russel's comment and continued.

"I wanted to test your individual skills today; you'll be playing your own music. I want to see how good you are. So, who wants to go first?" Noodle looked at Russel in a confused manner, then back at Murdoc.

"Play epic music with guitar?" She asked innocently. Murdoc sighed and put his face into his hand.

"Yes, precisely." Noodle grinned and run excitedly to get her guitar. Murdoc wondered where she got all that energy from on a Monday. It wasn't long before Noodle was pulling off a truly 'epic' solo on the guitar, blowing away both Russel and Murdoc.

They started clapping as she struck the last note on her guitar, proud and pleased with her abilities. Russel started praising her, while Murdoc nodded approvingly. He was about to comment, when he suddenly heard his phone buzz from a text message.

"Excuse me." He mumbled as he took a look at his phone.

-Idiot 💙-

"Oh my god!!! Was that Noodle playing just now??? That sounded like 200 demons screaming in Arabic!!! Brilliant!!! (≧∀≦)"

-

Murdoc raised an eyebrow after seeing the comment with the strange comparison. Wait... but how would he...?

In a split second Murdoc dashed at the door and yanked it open, startling the person who was walking down the corridor a few metres away.

"What the hell are you still doing here?!" Murdoc yelled, not waiting for any form of reply. "You've got a bloody maths lesson to attend to! You're already late!" The person in the corridor, who was clearly 2d, decided to quickly hassle away without another word to avoid being yelled at again. Murdoc sighed and slowly returned to the room, closing the door behind him.

"And that was... your singer...?" Russel carefully asked. He remembered Murdoc saying something about the singer having maths lessons on Mondays, so he tried to connect the dots.

"Yeah." Murdoc confirmed. "I mean, I know that I'm the best person on earth, and all, so he wants to spend all his time with me, but come on. Maths lessons are important too." Russel rolled his eyes while Noodle giggled.

"So what'd he text you." Russel asked. "That he wanted a goodbye kiss before his lesson?" He wiggles his eyebrows. Noodle giggled some more, as it was Murdoc's turn to roll his eyes.

"No." He answered sternly. "He said that he heard Noodle's playing and found it absolutely brilliant." Murdoc avoided using 2d's exact quote since he found it ridiculous. At that, Noodle grinned and started jumping up and down excitedly.

"Yay! We meet singer tomorrow!" She cheered, amusing Russel.

"Well, there might be a problem with that..." Murdoc reluctantly stated, almost not wanting to sadden the girl. Both of them looked at him in a confused manner.

"What do you mean?" Russel asked suspiciously.

"Well, he won't be able to make it tomorrow... or the day after that... or the day after that..." Murdoc continued, putting his hands together so that the tips of his fingers touched. He leaned on his desk, almost sitting on it. "Long story short, he got grounded for two weeks."

"What did he do?" Russel didn't sound pleased with the news; if the singer got grounded that meant that he did something bad- meaning he would be, in fact, similar to Murdoc. Noodle put on her sad face.

"It's not as much a matter of what he did, but more of what we did." Murdoc calmly explained. He wasn't happy about this situation either. Russel raised an eyebrow, thinking that the two were some sort of accomplices. "Ok, ok." Murdoc sighed. "Well maybe not what we did, but what I did, and he allowed me to."

"What did you do?" Russel sighed, not sure if he wanted to know the answer.

"Eh, it's complicat-" Murdoc tried to brush it off.

"Murdoc tell us!!" But Noodle urged on.

"Ugh..." Murdoc rolled his eyes, thinking of the best way to describe the situation. "Well, you see, he's got this weird sort of ban on getting hickeys."

"What's a hickey...?" Noodle whispered as she tugged on Russel's sleeve, who was standing with raised eyebrows.

"It's like, uh, when you like.... bite someone and leave a mark..." Russel struggled to explain it.

"Bite...?" While Noodle struggled to understand why someone would be biting someone else.

"It's weird," Russel continued. "You do it when you really like someone, and want to show them that you do." Noodle quirked her head to the side. "But not like a friend, you only do that if you like them more than a friend."

"Anyway." Murdoc decided to cut them short. "He has a lot of hickeys on his stomach, and his mom accidentally found out yesterday."

"Stomach, huh?" Russel wriggled his eyebrows. "Wonder who put those there?" He said smugly.

"Ah, shut it." Murdoc glared at him.

"Is singer's mom strict?" Noodle asked. "Why he not allowed hickey?"

"Well, although it does sound odd, some parents don't like to see their children with hickeys since they feel they're too young." Russel explained nicely.

"Nah. His mom's fine with hickeys. She started not being fine with them once she learned that I was the one giving them to him. She doesn't really like me. Although she's a nice woman." Murdoc started going on a tangent. "You see, we got drunk once and I may or may not have given him a hickey. That's when she realised, though I'm pretty sure she's not homophobic; just a bit overprotective."

"Damn Murdoc, go get your boy." Russel chuckled, snapping Murdoc back into reality. "You've gotten further with him than I thought you would have."

"Russel..." Murdoc warned in a low voice.

"Murdoc, that's really cute." Noodle commented, gaining confused looks from both boys. "Does your singer know you like him?" Now that the spotlight was once again on Murdoc, he started feeling a bit shy about his true feelings.

"I don't know. I guess to a certain extent he knows since it's quite obvious, but he's a very insecure person... so I think he might be in very strong denial, or not understanding why someone would like him." He stated. Murdoc was acting very calmly, maybe even slightly sadly.

"Does he like you back?" Noodle asked.

"I mean..." Murdoc thought about the time when 2d said he loved him. "I don't know. I don't know if I'm just really deep in the friend zone, or if he has feeling for me but just doesn't know what to do about them." He sighed.

"How about you confess?" Russel spoke up- his suggestion wasn't half stupid.

"Are you crazy?!" Murdoc seemed almost offended. "Since when do I, Murdoc Niccals, confess anything to anyone?"

"But you want him, don't you?" Noodle asked. "He doesn't sound like someone who make the first move. He is insecure, right?" Murdoc looked at her comprehensively. "So he would be afraid you don't like him back."

"But..." Murdoc furrowed his eyebrows, not knowing how to counter her. "But what if he doesn't like me back?" It sounded pathetic, in Murdoc's opinion, that he had to be worried about something like that. He knew 2d would never use him, and that he believed that there could be something more between them.

"You've got to at least try, right?" Russel motivated him. "What if he does like you? You can't just ignore that possibility."

"Yeah, but..." Murdoc twisted his face, thinking, as he crossed his arms.

"You like him, so you've got to do something about it before someone takes him from you." Russel continued.

"No one would ever dare take him." Murdoc brushed it off. "He belongs to me. He knows it, everyone knows it." He stated sternly.

"Well, if he knows he belongs to you, then what's the problem?" Murdoc looked at Russel with a sigh. He was right, but was Murdoc really willing to risk their entire relationship over this. What if 2d found it weird? Up until now Murdoc had been trying to move at a slow enough pace so that 2d was the one to decide when he was ready to take it a step further. He hated pushing 2d to do things because nowadays that was way too risky. So what would he do now?

- - -

Murdoc decided to end band practice just before the end of 2d's lesson; that way he could go and pick him up. He parted ways with Noodle and Russel and then wondered up to meet 2d, the two had previously established to go home together, despite Murdoc not being able to stay over afterwards.

While they were together, 2d acted very cheerfully and sweetly as usual. They chatted in the car and everything seemed fine, but 2d couldn't help but notice that something felt off about Murdoc.

"Mudz, what's wrong?" 2d asked as he parked the car in front of his house. He turned to Murdoc, completely serious. It was beginning to get dark, and the sky was a dark purple. A few stars slowly started emerging, making the sky look pretty. The only way the two could see each other was because of the light in the car.

"What?" Murdoc was reluctant to reply. "Nothing's wrong." He was still bothered by what he discussed with Russel and Noodle.

"You can tell me, y'know." 2d smiled lightly. Murdoc looked down. He wanted to say it, but he didn't know if he was mentally strong enough to. Not to mention the fact that he felt like he was running out of time with every passing second. Just looking at 2d made his chest tighten, it felt horrible.

"I know, I just..." Murdoc sighed. "I've got something on my mind and I don't know what to do..." 2d I like you. Like, I really like you, and I don't know what to do about it. I just... I really want to date you because I feel that you're perfect in every way possible and my life without you would be completely and absolutely meaningless. I'm sorry for dumping these... feelings... on you, but I just.... love you...... The thoughts had Murdoc's head spinning, he didn't know if he would ever be able to get past the first word.

"I'm here for you Mudz..." 2d smiled warmly. Murdoc looked up at him, sighing worriedly. His heart was racing. Murdoc's hand wondered up to 2d's face to bring it in a bit closer.

"I just..." He leaned forward to tenderly connect their lips, without bothering to finish the sentence. This surprised 2d, since it was seemingly random, but he kissed back nonetheless. Murdoc usually did those things when he was in the mood or they were in a private area. Something must have really been bothering him.

2d moved closer and wrapped his hands around Murdoc's neck. The kiss was so sweet and passionate, that 2d thought he was dreaming. It felt simply perfect and 2d couldn't get enough of it. It didn't feel like Murdoc wanted to let go any time soon either. After a while Murdoc moved to start showering 2d's cheek and jaw with kisses, gaining a wide smile from him. 2d cupped Murdoc's cheek; moving him away for a moment to gain eye contact. He smiled at Murdoc, who still seemed just a tad bit bothered by something.

"Mudz, I love you..." 2d admitted softly. He wanted Murdoc to know that he'll always be there for him. Murdoc looked at him as if he was the most important person in his life and leaned in closer.

"2d, I love you too...." He mumbled before quickly reuniting their lips, this time in a more needy way. There was nothing he could do right now; he loved 2d and 2d was starting to warm up to him. He couldn't push the situation because that would have been too risky, yet that horrible, nagging feeling at the pit of his stomach didn't disappear.

Once they parted, they just looked at each other in a caring manner.

"This is..." Murdoc looked down. "Very gay..." to which 2d chuckled.

"So what? We are very gay." He grinned. Murdoc looked up with a light sigh. How could he feel bad when there was such a positive person sitting next to him?

"But have you actually ever considered it?" Murdoc asked, leaning back in his seat. "Being gay?"

"Yeah, of course I have." 2d shrugged. Murdoc looked over at him.

"Have you ever considered... the possibility of us dating...?" He asked wearily.

"Of course." 2d replied nonchalantly. "Why.... why would I make such a mess out of our 'technically dating' if I didn't? I was the one who started it after all. It just felt weird to be doing those things while we were only friends, y'know? Kinda scary too..."

"Lemme guess, you felt like I was using you, right?" Murdoc sighed.

"Well, you know I couldn't help it. I used to think that you were a horrible person, y'know, I couldn't discard the possibility. But now I know that you're not. I trust you."

"You said it felt weird to be doing things as only friends... wouldn't it be easier to just tell me to stop doing things instead of advancing into a deeper relationship?" Murdoc asked. 2d furrowed his eyebrows, thinking.

"Mudz, you sure you're ok? You sound really off today... I never wanted you to stop doing those things, y'know... did something happen for you to start questioning my feelings? What happened to the outgoing Murdoc who would do things to me whenever he wanted without hesitation? What happened to touching and kissing me without consent because you were confident that I'd like it? I want my Murdoc back!" 2d pouted jokingly. Murdoc just chuckled lightly.

"You're too cute for your own good, you know?" 2d smirked, glad to be seeing Murdoc's dominant side again. "I guess that that Murdoc's just afraid you don't like him back." 2d bit his lip excitedly, accepting the challenge.

"But Mudz, I'm yours to take! How could I ever not like you?" 2d started talking playfully. "I'm your submissive little pet, and I need you on top of me!" Murdoc smirked. "I need your touch, your kiss, your everything..!" 2d leaned in closer, amusing Murdoc. "I need you to do unspeakable things to me..." He whispered into Murdoc's ear, grinning. "I need you to do whatever you please with my body... all the time... I want to please you Mudz..." 2d moaned a sigh and then bit into Murdoc's ear.

"Be careful with what you wish for..." Murdoc chuckled before pushing 2d back, against the car door. He then went to climb over him, seeing 2d smirking smugly. Murdoc's knees where still on his seat as he hovered above 2d's body and leaned down to start kissing him. One of his hands traveled under 2d's shirt to start touching him and toying with his jean button.

"Ah! Murdoc! Fuck me!" 2d moaned out jokingly into the kiss. The two boys chuckled before continuing their version of a role play.

"Oh, I will..." Murdoc went further down to start butting 2d's collarbone, making the ticklish bluenette giggle.

"Mudz! That tickles!" 2d laughed a bit before pulling Murdoc's head away. "Alright, alright Mudz. Let's stop this before you give me a boner. I gotta get home."

"Awe..." Murdoc pouted, smirking. "Do you have to go...?" He asked, kissing 2d's cheek a bit more.

"Yes, Mudz." 2d laughed, trying to sit up. "I'm grounded remember?"

"Whaaaat?" Murdoc acted shocked. "But you said you wanted me to fuck you!! Why do you always say you'll let me when you're grounded?" 2d laughed some more.

"Don't worry Mudz, you'll get to fuck me soon. Just let me get a bit more..."

"-comfortable?" Murdoc cut in.

"-with the idea of sex." 2d added. "I'm comfortable with you, Mudz." He quickly kissed Murdoc on the nose.

"Ok, ok..." Murdoc sighed. "I'll see you tomorrow, yeah?"

"Yeah!" 2d cheered. "So, are you going home now?"

"Well... I dunno. Honestly, I could use a drink or two right about now, but I'll head home afterwards, ok?" 2d eyed him suspiciously.

"Ok..." He wearily answered. "But promise me you're going to drink responsibly and not get into any bar fights, yeah? Be careful."

"Yes mom." Murdoc joked.

"Hey...!" 2d tried to pout as best as he could.

"What?" Murdoc grinned. "The role of 'daddy' is already taken." He burst out laughing.

"Oh my god!" 2d commented, but soon joined in laughing. It was nice. Not long after the boys had to part ways; 2d got home, while Murdoc drove off to the pub...

Ok. No. I did not originally plan the car scene. I wanted this chapter to continue onto Murdoc's drunk adventures, but this is already too long. I need to stop getting carried away while writing.

Ah yes, and btw... it's my birthday soon! (The 29th Of May)

One last reminder (and this time I'm being really, really serious): next chapter is THE chapter.
