36. Definition of cute

Sorry for the long wait, I had authors block :/

"I don't want to be replaced..." 2d looked down at the floor in front of him. He was distant, both physically and emotionally. Murdoc could tell that it was pretty hard for 2d to admit something like this, and now he couldn't even comfort him with a hug.

"What?" Murdoc was confused. "What do you mean? Why would you be replaced?"

"Well..." 2d reluctantly replied. "If he joins the band, then you'll become friends with him. And then you won't need me anymore..."

"What-"

"Because I bet it would be so much better to be friends with an outgoing kid like him, rather than a wimp like me..."

"2d..." Murdoc sighed. "Are you jealous?" The bluenette didn't reply. "Come on, you know I'm not the type of person who goes around making friends." Murdoc calmly explained. "Why would I swap you for him? You know I don't just like you for your personality..." Murdoc smirked and placed his hands on 2d's waist, making him momentarily tense up.

"But..." the bluenette sulked. "What if you like him more?"

"2d, you're my best friend."

"But what if you like him more in that way...."

"You're scared that I'll have a crush on him?" Murdoc raised an eyebrow. 2d didn't reply, embarrassed. Although he himself didn't like Murdoc in that way, he loved the attention and how Murdoc seemed to care for him. "I won't."

"B-But... what if...?"

"Is he cuter than you?" Murdoc asked, already knowing the answer was 'no'. 2d thought for a moment.

"Well, it depends on your definition of cute..." Murdoc rolled his eyes.

"Is he the same body type as you?"

"No..." 2d reluctantly replied.

"Well, does he have soft blue hair like you?" Murdoc questioned.

"No, he doesn't have hair..."

"What about his eyes? Are they as beautiful as yours?" 2d blushed lightly at the indirect compliment.

"No... they're the opposite of my black ones."

"Does he have a perfect, heart warming smile like you?" Murdoc said with a smug look.

"No. It doesn't look like he smiles much, he seems sad..." 2d was beginning to realise that he was losing this argument.

"Is he the type of person I could drag around school?" Murdoc continued asking. "Who I could corner against a wall and kiss like you?"

"No. I don't think he would allow you..."

"Is he as cute and cuddly as you?"

"As I said, it depends on your definition of cute." 2d repeated himself. Murdoc's grip on his waist suddenly tightened and 2d was pulled back onto Murdoc. He gasped.

"2d you're my definition of cute." Murdoc sternly stated, his face was buried in the bluenette's hair, just above his ear. 2d held Murdoc's hands as they once again wrapped themselves around his thin body. "And from what you're telling me, that new kid is nothing like you. You have nothing to worry about."

"We don't know that!" 2d pouted. "You haven't met him yet, so there's still a chance that you'll like him more."

"Oh please!" Murdoc rolled his eyes again. "2d I'm not gay."

"Yeah, sure." The bluenette stated sarcastically and looked up to make eye contact with Murdoc. The bassist sighed.

"It's just you. No one else. So stop freaking out and go back to sleep or whatever." 2d sighed sadly. Is this the last time I'll get to sleep on him? He thought.

"I don't feel like sleeping anymore..." The words were mumbled out.

What am I supposed to do? Murdoc thought. He's just being paranoid, there's no way I would ever replace him, not after all the trouble I went through to get him for myself. I want to make him feel better, but how?

"Then let's talk." Murdoc looked 2d in those big sad eyes, and slightly inched his face closer.

"About?" The bluenette seemed to respond by also moving closer; he placed one hand on Murdoc's shoulder, and the other on his forearm. 2d knew that Murdoc was a player, and keeping a relationship with him was almost impossible, but he just wanted some to care. He wanted someone he could lean on, someone to trust. Murdoc wasn't the best person for this role, but the only one willing to play it.

"I dunno, you?" Murdoc's hands remained around 2d's waist as he slowly leaned in and allowed their lips to meet. He didn't mean to, but couldn't help himself. 2d just seemed so out of it, and this was the best thing he could think of to cheer him up.

2d closed his eyes and kissed back. He loved it. He loved the lust he felt in Murdoc's every move. He loved the idea that someone could want him, even if it was just for his body. It's so weird... 2d thought. It's so weird that I'm kissing a guy and it feels normal, even.... good?

When the two finally pulled away 2d wedged his face into Murdoc's neck to hide his stupid blush. Murdoc just sighed lightly and moved his hands up, keeping 2d in a warm embrace.

"Mudz...?" 2d decided to speak up. "Why did we become friends?" Murdoc thought for a moment, and decided that honestly would be the best answer.

"Because of your voice. The moment I heard your voice I knew you had to be in my band, and the only way to do that was to befriend you."

"That's it? My voice?" 2d sounded a tad bit disappointed.

"Yup." Murdoc casually stated. "But then once I actually got to know you, I started liking you for who you are as a person." 2d blushed at the word 'liking', he knew he interpreted it in the wrong way, or did he?

"You said I'm your best friend..."

"Yeah, you are." Murdoc rubbed his back.

"You're my best friend too..." 2d smiled lightly. Soon the two boys were engaged in conversation and were once again laughing and joking about. 2d felt much better knowing that Murdoc really was serious about their friendship, and maybe, just maybe... it could become something more...? After all, 2d was now getting used to the idea of Murdoc constantly touching or kissing him, so now it was his turn to bite back....

Hey, someone suggested a QnA, and I think that it would be a good idea so...
