15. "Girlfriend"
After 10 minutes 2d finally managed to make one of the keyboards work and started to play various classic songs.
"Impressive, dullard." Were the first words Murdoc said after 15 minutes of listening. 2d continued playing, most of the time he didn't even need to look at the keys, he just didn't want to look Murdoc in the eyes.
Every time the bassist would try to turn around to look at the clock 2d would make a fuss and distract him with a new song. He was doing his best to prolong the inevitable. The car.
At some point Murdoc caught on and, when he realised how late it was getting, ended up dragging the screaming bluenette by the hair through the corridors and into his car.
After 10 minutes spent silently driving with the only sound present being 2d's gasps and little cries, they arrived home. 2d took his bag and run out of the car. He unlocked and opened his front door but then hesitated- he looked back at Murdoc in his car. Murdoc looked back at him. 2d then raised a shaky hand and waved goodbye before trying to enter his house as calmly as possible.
Murdoc sat in his car for a while, thinking about that dullard and how at least he's trying to be friendly, before he reluctantly drove away to his own house. He hated it there.
Murdoc parked his car down the street to avoid it being seen by the "family" and risk it getting destroyed, and then walked home. His house had only one floor and three bedrooms. It was the only thing his broke father could afford. Murdoc wasn't like him- he was planning to have a future and a life. There was no way he was going to allow this hell hole to become his life.
Murdoc climbed into his bedroom through the window. It had metal wiring in it to avoid being broken. It was the only entrance to the room, Murdoc jammed the door ages ago. He valued privacy, and that's why he liked his relationship with that dullard. 2d always minded his own business and didn't interfere or question, but "was always there for him", or shall I say "was too scared to leave".
There were two more weeks of school left. This one and the next. After that there was a weeks break from school when Murdoc was intending to teach 2d how to drive. I need to make sure he passes the test first try, while he's still motivated. I only have a week to teach him- then he needs to focus on school again... There's no way to teach him during school, he has to focus on lessons and the band.
Murdoc sighed. This was the first time he was actually willing to commit to a friendship with someone. All because of his fucking voice, is it really worth it? He thought for a moment. ...definitely.

Now that Murdoc and 2d called each other "friends", Murdoc felt even more possessive of him. As time passed though, he begun seeing a new threat to their friendship. Paula.
As the week progressed he started disliking Paula more and more and begun to question her behaviour towards 2d. Countless instances that he observed throughout the week got him to believe that 2d and Paula weren't meant for each other... but what happened on Friday officially made him hate her.
[Wednesday before band practice]
Murdoc sat with his feet up on the desk as usual. School finished about two minutes ago but he was early because he decided to walk out of lesson 10 minutes early. No one stopped him. They were too scared, everyone knew Murdoc had some shady friends outside of school. Contacting his father was also pointless.
Another minute passed when 2d appeared through the door. He casually strolled in with a simple "hi" and walked over to his desk. He put his bag down but instead of sitting down looked at Murdoc, waiting for some kind of command. The bassist simply glanced at the desk right in front of him and then observed 2d make his way towards it. He sat down in the chair and then looked down at the desk, passing time by reading the graffiti scribbled all over it.
Minutes passed yet Paula still wasn't showing up. Murdoc was growing impatient. He looked over at the bluenette.
"Oi 2d." His voice was flat and slightly annoyed, the boy in question immediately looked up. "Gimme your phone." 2d hesitantly stood up and walked over to Murdoc, and reluctantly handed him his phone. The bassist snatched it and pressed the home button. "Password." He demanded.
"19." 2d said. "2000" Murdoc easily unlocked the phone then looked at the bluenette.
"19-2000?"
"Y-Yeah.." 2d gingerly said, rubbing the back of his head and looking away. "I saw it in your notebook once."
"And you decided to make it your password?" 2d nodded. Murdoc rolled his eyes. He was pissed and needed a way to calm down. "Hey." The bluenette looked at him again. "Sing for me."
"Uh, sing what?" Murdoc reached into the drawer for his notebook and handed it to 2d.
"Look for 19-2000 and sing. The music notes are on there so you can figure out the tune." 2d flicked through the pages as Murdoc messed with his phone. Wow... 2d thought. He's allowing me to touch his notebook... I feel honoured. He joked to himself.
2d finally found the song and started to read the notes. He nodded his head to the beat and slowly started singing.
"The world is spinning too... fast?" He struggled to read the lyrics. He glanced at Murdoc, who wasn't fully paying attention, and decided to continue. "I'm buying red Nike shoes~ to keep myself te-tethered, to the days I tried to loose~" he paused momentarily then continued. "My mamma said to slow down, you must make your own shoes~ stop dancing to the music of Gorillaz in a happy mood~"
"Those aren't the lyrics dullard." Murdoc stopped him. "What gorillas?"
"I-I don't know.. I can't really read your writing. Kinda sounds like a band name though... Gorillaz..."
"Hmm.." Murdoc thought. "Gorillaz, you say? Doesn't sound too bad, how about we name our band that?" He awaited an answer.
Our band? 2d was slightly surprised.
"Uh, sure." He showed hints of a smile.
"Gorillaz it is then." Murdoc turned back to the phone as 2d tried to continue singing, he was corrected every now and then but despite that it wasn't so bad. "WHY THE FUCK AREN'T YOU PICKING UP?!" Murdoc suddenly yelled at the phone. 2d flinched and stopped singing, he looked up and took a step back.
"I-If you're trying to call Paula she won't pick up..." he said timidly. Was he really this angry? I didn't seem to notice...
"And why the fuck not?" Murdoc questioned.
"Uh.. she silenced my calls.. She doesn't like it when I disrupt her."
"The fuck?!" Murdoc angrily took his own phone out and typed her phone number in. 2d stayed quiet. After a few rings she finally picked up.
"Hello?"
"Why the fuck did you mute 2d's phone calls?!" Murdoc growled. A bothered sigh could be heard from Paula.
"None of your business. I'm not even going to question where you got my number from." Murdoc resisted yelling because he didn't want to further scare 2d.
"Where. The fuck. Are you?" 2d took another step back, which Murdoc noticed. "Come back here you ho." He told 2d, who quickly scooted over to stand beside him, and then continued speaking to Paula. "Band practice is supposed to have started five minutes ago."
"I'm on my way." Before Murdoc had a chance to say anything else she hung up. He sighed angrily, putting his phone away, and then turned to 2d. The bluenette was clutching the closed notebook to his chest like a teddy bear.
"How do you even talk to her?" Murdoc questioned. "How do you communicate if she muted your calls?" 2d hesitated before replying, but knew it was a bad idea to keep angry Murdoc waiting.
"I-If she wants something she c-calls me..." Murdoc felt the urge to command him to stop stammering, but he knew it wasn't that easy.
"And what if you want something?"
"I-I don't..." 2d looked down at the floor, afraid.
"Some fucking girlfriend she is." Murdoc growled under his breath.
Y'see, I would have updated yesterday, but my favourite fic was updated and I kinda spent three hours of my life re-reading it... again.
Sorry not sorry. 2doc for life.
