Chapter 10: Butterflies and Bees
It wasn't until they got back to the bunker that Dean realized they hadn't brought a phone with them.
....And Dean had 14 missed calls from Sam, AKA the Winchester equivalent of two missed calls from your mother.
Terrifying.
"Where the hell have you BEEN?" Sam demanded as soon as he picked up the phone. "I've been calling you for HOURS."
"Sorry Sammy, I was busy." Dean insisted. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I finished up that hunt. I'm on my way back to the bunker now."
"Oh." Cas walked into the room, and tilted his head. "It's Sam," Dean whispered. Cas nodded and slid up next to the hunter, figuring he'd amuse himself and confuse the moose at the same time.
"I should be back tonight." Sam went on. "What have you and Cas been up to?"
"Nothing much." Dean started to explain. "We've been doing that list he made of siMPLE-" Dean jumped as Cas randomly leaned over and licked his ear. "Simple things." Dean stammered.
"...Okay. So, what? You've been staring at flowers and stuff?"
"Yeah, that's abooo" Dean's voice trailed off as Cas started to kiss his neck. "Cas, stop it."
"No, it's funny." The angel teased.
"I'm on the phone!"
"Don't care." Sam frowned, listening to them whispering.
"Dean?" He finally asked. Dean cleared his throat, shooting a quelling glare at Cas.
"Yes?"
"I gotta go. See you later?"
"Yeah, sure. Bye!" Dean hung up instantly and turned to the angel. "Oh, you're gonna pay."
"Oh am I?" Cas insisted. "How?"
"You are getting a punishment, Cas."
"What's that mean? You're gonna attempt to top for once?"
".....Cas. I will lock you in the dungeon." The angel smiled.
"Kinky."
"CAS!"

Elsewhere, Sam pondered the strange phone call for a minute before sending out a text.
It's official. Dean and Cas totally banged while I was gone.
WHAT?????? was Charlie's instant reply.
Good for Cassie ;) Gabriel declared.
Charlie: I DEMAND PROOF, WINCHESTER!!!
It's obvious. That's all the proof I have.
Charlie: I WANT PROOOOOOF, MOOSE! I WILL KILL YOU TO GET IT!!!
Gabe: Hey! Don't threaten my Sammoose!
I'm NOT your Sammoose, Gabriel. We're FRIENDS.
Gabe: That's not what you said on New Years ;)
Charlie: O. M. G.
Ignore him, he's lying.
Gabe:
Charlie: ALL MY SHIPS ARE SAILING YAY!!!
I am so done with you both. GTG.
Charlie: OKAAAAAAY. CALL ME LATER WHEN YOU HAVE EVIDENCE OF DESTIEL.
Gabe: Later Samsquatch ;)
Crowley:...........
Crowley: Why the hell am I in this group text.

"What shall we cross off the list today, Dean?" Cas asked, bouncing onto Dean's bed. The Winchester rolled his eyes and looked at the list. It surprised him to see they were nearly halfway done with it already.
"What about....bees?" He suggested, knowing hoe much Cas loved the tiny creatures. Sure enough, the angel let out a screech.
"YES!" He declared. "Bees and butterflies!"
"There's a butterfly house in Wichita," Dean offered. "And Sam comes back tonight, so we better get going."
"Yes! Let's go!" Cas jumped off the bed and ran for the door. Dean sighed.
"Cas?" He called after the angel.
"Yes?"
"Pants, remember?" Cas came running back into the room and snatched up his pants.
"Thanks, Dean." He declared, quickly kissing Dean on the cheek and running away again.

A few hours later, they reached the butterfly garden, and Cas practically flipped out.
"Aren't they beautiful?" He breathed, studying the winged-creatures.
"Sure." Dean offered, content to watching the angel freak out.
"Dean. Don't move." Cas whispered, causing the hunter to freeze.
"Why?"
"There's a monarch butterfly on your head."
"Get it off!"
"No, it likes you!" Cas grabbed Dean phone and snapped a picture of the annoyed-looking hunter, with a butterfly on his head.
"Are you done now?"
"Yes." Dean shook his head, and the butterfly flew off, searching for its next victim. Cas frowned. "I want a butterfly to land on me!"
"Maybe if you sit still, one will come to you."
"Okay." So Cas sat and waited. Ten minutes passed, and nothing happened. Dean looked around and spotted a little container of nectar, which were placed all around for the butterflies to enjoy. So the Winchester took the container and dumped it on Cas's head.
"DEAN!" The angel shouted in protest, but then butterflies started landing on Cas's head, and his arms. Dean burst out laughing, snapping pictures of Cas with his head covered in butterflies, and the utter expression of awe on the angel's face.

They stopped at their field on the way home, and watched some bees go from flower to flower, Dean nearly freaking out every time a bee would stop and land on Cas's head to inspect the nectar stuck in his hair.
"That's going to be a disaster to wash out." He realized.
"I don't mind." Cas insisted. "It makes the bees happy."
"Why do you like bees so much?"
"Because they are fascinating creatures, Dean. I would love to study them more closely, if I ever got the chance."
"Mhmmm." Dean gazed at angel, smiling. "Maybe I should start calling you Bee."
"That'd be more preferable then most of the nicknames you've given me in the past."
"I dunno. You fit Huggybear pretty well." Cas laughed, but then a thought occurred to him.
"Dean,"
"Yeah?"
"What are you going to tell Sam when he comes back?"
"What do you mean?"
"Well.... When he left, we had never even kissed, but now..."
"You want to know if I'm going to tell Sam about our relationship." Dean finished.
"Is that what this is?" Cas asked. "Are we in a relationship?"
"Do you want us to be?"
"I'm not sure how human relationships work, Dean. All I know is that I want to be with you, whenever I can, for as long as I can."
"Well, in that case...I guess you could say we're dating."
"Even though we haven't gone on a date?"
"Doesn't this list kinda count as various dates?"
"I suppose.... So we're dating."
"Yes."
"Does that make me your girlfriend?" Dean grinned.
"Technically, you'd be my boyfriend, Cas."
"So I am your boyfriend?"
"Do you want to be?"
"Yes."
"Then, yes. You are my boyfriend." Cas smiled.
"I like that."
"I don't know what to tell Sam, though."
"Wouldn't he be fine with it?"
"I think so... I mean, we've never really talked about this kind of stuff with each other before. I never told him that I liked you. He might not take it well." Cas thought for a moment, remembering everything Gabriel had told him about him and the younger Winchester boy.
"...I think Sam will completely understand." He declared. "He knows you better then anyone, Dean. This probably won't even come as a surprise to him."
"Maybe." Dean sighed, leaning closer to the angel. "Maybe."
