The Stone Army

Kaylee's POV

I wake up to the annoying sounds of the guy's alarm. Last night, we had all went shopping for new things for all of us, as most of our belonging were destroyed when the original Bounty had gotten destroyed, and it was really late at night when we came back. I stumble into their room, wearing my new pajamas.

"Is it Wednesday already?" Lloyd annoyedly groans.

"Sunrise exercise. I hate sunrise exercise." Jay groans.

"You guys, I told you not to put the alarm clock by the gramophone!" I groan sleepily.

"You uh, look nice, cute..." Lloyd stutters, and blushes. The guys raise their eyebrows.

"Thanks, the fabric was soft and comfy." I rub my eyes.

"Ah. Good morning, morning, morning! Up, up. It's a new day, students. Before we begin sunrise exercise, I noticed the Dragon made another mess outside. It looks like a two-person job, hehe." Sensei walks in, banging a gong. He then walks out.

"Uh, what was that, Sensei?" Cole asks.

"Did I hear an SOS call come in?" Kai Spinjitzu's into his gi.

"I sense I need to be somewhere else." Zane rushes past us.

"Lloyd, Kaylee, haha. I'm sure you got this, heh." I impatiently tap my foot at them.

"Aww, you might've been able to dump chores on me when I was smaller, but I'm grown up now. That's not fair!" Lloyd pouts.

"I'll have to do it anyways. Meet you at the dragon." I wave and walk out of the room.

I quickly change into my gi and find out Lloyd was the one that came out. We quickly finish the chore.

"I always have to do the dirty work." He grumbles.

"Ah-ah-ah, we always have to do the dirty work." I wag my finger at him.

"Hey, having a pet Dragon requires a lot of responsibility." Cole scolds.

"Didn't your mom ever let you have a pet?" Jay asks.

"I don't remember my mother. She abandoned me when I was really young." Lloyd looks down.

"She just left? Who took care of you?" Kai asks.

"I spent my whole life at Darkley's Boarding School," Lloyd replies.

"What about you Kaylee?" Zane asks.

"I was actually left on Sensei Wu's doorstep when I was a baby, he wasn't one for a pet so you know how well that'd go. So, yeah, I never knew my parents." I drop the bag I was holding. Why could I lie so easily? Well, after all of these years, well, I'm not sure that they were actually my parents. What if they were imposters? (Foreshadowing 😎)

"Oh. Hey, welcome to the club?" Lloyd smiles nervously and hugs me.

"Hey, I have a mission for you guys. It's the Museum of Ninjago! They've asked for you guys! Something really strange has happened." We run toward Nya.

"What?" Kai asks.

"You're gonna have to see it to believe it," Nya replies.

"Here, Nya. Hold this." Lloyd hands Nya the bag, and we quickly run away.

"Wait a minute. What am I supposed to do with these?" Nya asks, but then she pieces two and two together. "Oh."

"Oh, thank heavens you're here!" The pacing curator comes up to us after we arrive at the Museum.

"We heard there was an emergency?" Sensei asks.

"Yes, come, come. Quickly, this way. The Stone Warrior exhibit opens to the public tonight, and this couldn't have come at a worse time." We walk through halls, following the Curator.

"Uh, what couldn't have come at a worse time?" Kai asks.

"Ninjago City appreciates your help in destroying The Great Devourer some time back, but it appears its toxic venom has seeped into the city sewer system and has had the most unusual after-effect." We look at the green goo, which smells terrible.

"Aargh!" We all groan and pinch our noses from the smell.

"Ugh. It stinks!" Kai moans.

"The toxicity in the venom somehow brought our merchandise to life! They're so unruly. I just don't know who else to call!" The Curator cries, opening the door to stone army bobbleheads.

"Ah!" One jumps on Zane and hits him. He quickly smashes it.

"We've got this covered. I think we can handle a few toys." Jay laughs.

"And please, could you contain the fighting to the gift shop? The doors to the new exhibit will be opening soon. Thank you." he quickly closes the door.

"Whoa! Stupid little guy." Lloyd gets a bust thrown on him. I blast the stone warriors around him and help him up.

"You okay?" I ask.

"Oh, uh. Y-y-yeah." Lloyd looks away.

"Alright. Playtime's over. Ninja, go!" Kai does Spinjitzu.

"Ninja, go!" Jay, Cole, and Zane follow after Kai.

"Wait but you'll-" I realize after they destroy most of the gift shop

"Uh, oops," Zane says.

"I always have to clean up after you boys." I sigh and blast the chandelier at the top of the gift shop. After the silver mist clears, the gift shop is as good as new.

"Nice job." Jay compliments.

"Thanks." I grin.

"Hey uh Kaylee, uh I have, uh something to, uh tell you." Lloyd taps m shoulder.

"Yeah! What was it?"

"I uh-"

"Are you 2 lovebirds coming?" Kai impatiently asks.

"Kai!" I yell, running angrily after them.

"So, uh, you gonna introduce us?" Jay asks after I finally catch up to them. I see a lady that had the same color emerald green as Lloyd's eyes and grey hair. Could it be?

"Uh, yes. This is Misako, Lloyd's mother." We all gasp.

"My...my mother?" Lloyd stutters.

"Ah. Lloyd? My little boy. You're so much bigger than I remember." Misako takes Lloyd's hand.

"Yeah, well, it's been a long time." Lloyd spitefully says.

"I didn't want us to meet like this. I have a reason why I've been away." Misako explains.

"Well, I don't wanna hear it." Lloyd wiggles out of Misako's grasp and runs away.

"Lloyd, wait. Please!" Misako calls after him. Everyone looks at me.

"What?" I ask.

"You two are best friends, go comfort him!" Cole says.

"Uh, okay then?"

"You're Kaylee?" Misako says.

"Yeah."

"Why, you look so big! You know, I was the one to carry you inside after your birth parents left you." Misako smiles at me.

"You mean me and Lloyd we're friends since we were little?" I gasp and she nods. "Uh, I well, better go.." I run quickly, running after Lloyd.

"Lloyd wait!" I find him at the base at a hole.

"I'm sorry about that. I." I start.

"It's not your fault." Lloyd mumbles.

"Well, you know what I found out? It might cheer you up." I smile, taking his hand into mine.

"What?" He stares at the hole.

"We were friends since we were kids! Isn't that so cool!" I say and Lloyd gives me a half-smile. "So, uh, not that exciting, I'm sorry." I let go of his hand.

"It's exciting but.."

"Yeah, I get it. It's not important enough."

"No, it's not that." He grabs my hand gently.

"Oh. okay." I smile.

"Lloyd? Lloyd! I'd watch your step. That sinkhole doesn't have a bottom, son. It's where I found the ancient Stone Warrior." Misako walks into the room.

"An ancient Stone Warrior! You found one! Oh wow!" I gush, looking down at the hole.

"Uh, 'son?' You've been gone my whole life! There's nothing you can say." Lloyd snaps.

"Well, I'm going to talk anyway. You wanna know what I've been doing all this time? Long before Sensei Wu ever knew who would be the Green Ninja, I knew it would be you. And I knew you would eventually have to fight your father. I dropped you off at the Boarding School so I could go learn everything I could about the prophecy, in hope of one day preventing the final battle. Of good and evil. All this time, son, I've been trying to save you and your father. Long before time had a name, Ninjago was created by the First Spinjitzu Master-" Misako explains.

"Yeah, yeah. We've heard this story a hundred times." The others and Sensei Wu show up.

"But you've only heard half of it. In Ninjago, there has always been a balance between good and evil. So you know about how the First Spinjitzu Master created Ninjago, but what if I were to tell you in order for there to be light, there must be shadow, and within shadow, there is darkness. The blackest of darkness that existed from the very beginning. An evil spirit called The Overlord."

"Did you know about this, Sensei?" Zane asks.

"I had hoped if I'd kept the secret, that name would never be spoken again," Sensei replies.

"The balance was at stake, and their battle could have gone on for eternity. Each side powerful, neither could conquer the other until the Overlord created his indestructible warriors: the Stone Army. The Spinjitzu Master did what he could, but he knew he would soon be defeated. So instead of losing the war, he divided Ninjago into two. And lucky for us, since then there has been no trace of the Overlord or his Stone Army, until my recent discovery." Misako finishes.

"So that's why the battle has yet to be decided. It was never finished." Kai says.

"But where is this Dark Island? I've never heard of it." Cole questions.

"Disappeared, I presume. But the legend states that so long as the balance between good and evil remains even, the Overlord shall remain trapped from this world. I have always feared your father's ambition will ultimately lead to a shift in the balance. That is why he must be stopped." Misako explains.

"We have each felt the power of the First Spinjitzu Master, passed onto us in the form of the elemental weapons. But now that power has been inherited by the Green Ninja, which is why only Lloyd and Kaylee can defeat the ultimate evil, or else all of Ninjago will fall prey to its darkness." Sensei says.

"Leaving you was the hardest thing I've ever had to do. But faced with saving you and the world, I had no other choice." Misako explains.

"Have you discovered a way to prevent me from facing my father?" Lloyd asks hopefully.

"I'm sorry, not yet. But I have reason to believe there's still hope." Misako smiles. Then, and smashing of a doorway and a fully resurrected Stone Warrior is in the doorway.

"Whoa! Excuse me!? Would somebody please tell me what the heck is that!?" Jay freaks out.

"The Stone Warrior," Misako says fearfully.

"The Devourer's venom has awakened him!" Zane gasps.

"That is so cool!" I gush, to see everyone looking at me weirdly. "Hehe, sorry."

"Kai, take care of him." Cole sighs.

"Um, me? Okay, blockhead. Take this!" Kai charges at the Stone Warrior, but due to its hugeness, he just gets reflected back like a yo-yo. "Well, in my mind's eye, I saw that playing out entirely differently. Whoa!" The Stone Warrior picks up Kai and throws him out fo the room.

"The Overlord created his Stone Army from an indestructible material only found on the Dark Island," Misako yells.

"Ah, great. You could've mentioned that earlier." Kai groans.

"Lloyd, use your powers," Sensei commands. Lloyd summons a ball of energy and blasts the Stone Warrior out of the way. We cheer, but then the Stone Warrior comes back again.

"Wait a minute. How are we supposed to destroy this thing?" Cole asks.

"You can't," Misako informs.

"Aaahh! Hehe, easy big guy, maybe this is a sign you need to lose a few pounds, hehe." Jay, Cole, and Zane quickly jump into action. I try to blast it with my powers, but it was completely immune. Soon, everyone gets thrown out of the room, except me.

"Uh, guys? I'm feeling pretty alone over here!" I swing my rope and latch on the Stone Warrior hand. I try to swing him into the bottomless pit, but then he easily lifts his hand, picking me up, and swinging my around like a kid playing Around-The-World with a yo-yo. I get flung out of the room, dizzy. "Now, I know how hard a yo-yo's life can be." I groan, accepting Lloyd's help. I shakily get on my feet.

"Ah! This is gonna be much harder than a bunch of bobble-heads, fellas." Cole groans.

"Yeah, well, then it's a good thing we're in a museum." Jay nervously stutters as the Stone Warrior turns to us for round 2.

"Why is that?" Misako asks, not used to Jay's witty quips during battle.

"'Cause we're all about to become history! Run!" Jay starts running and we follow him, the Stone Warrior in pursuit.

"The guy's got a pair of sneakers on him. Pick up the pace, go, go, go!" Lloyd peers behind us.

"Oh, man. He's pretty fast for a big guy!" Kai gasps, after we quickly run inside a room and close the doors, the Stone Warrior stabs his swords through the door, leaving a peeky-hole to look through.

"Ah. This thing is unstoppable!" Cole pants.

"Indestructible, to be precise," Zane says.

"That door ain't gonna hold him forever," Kai replies.

"Then let's settle this like men. With Rock, Paper, Clamp. Loser has to face him, so the rest can escape." Jay declares and I groan. Is this really how they chose Lloyd to go do the chore this morning? "Nu-uh, not you, Chosen Ones." Jay swats away the hand that me and Lloyd put in.

"On three. One, two-" Kai starts.

"Wait a minute, that's it!" Lloyd shouts.

"What's 'it?" Sensei asks.

"If you guys can keep him busy, I think we know how to stop him." I add inquickly, after Lloyd nudges me with a quick word of "bottomless pit."

"I say we give the kids a shot." Cole decides.

"You're just saying that 'cause you're too afraid to face him." Jay snaps.

"Do you wanna face it?" Cole points out.

"I say we give the kid a shot." Jay gulps. We run to a vent.

"Ladies first." Lloyd says, after opening the vent.

"What a gentleman." I joke, crawling in the vent.

"Be careful, Lloyd and Kaylee. And good luck." Misako calls out.

"Thanks, mom." Lloyd smiles.

"I'll bring Lloyd back in one piece!" I joke, earning a few laughs and a slap from Lloyd. I roll my eyes, leading the way to the bottomless pit. We work quickly, making the floor seem like there was never a pit in there in the first place. We hear Misako trying to escape the Stone Warrior.

"Over here!" Lloyd yells, waving his hands.

"Lloyd! Kaylee!" Misako grins.

"Shh." Lloyd takes Misako's hand.

"Hey, loser! Paper beats rock!" I taunt, and the Stone Warrior charges at us. I jump to the left and Lloyd to the right and the Stone Warrior steps on the paper floor, as we hoped. I large rip was heard and the Stone Warrior plummets down the hole.

"Of course, the Bottomless Pit. I'm so proud of you. I feel like the balance has brought us together." Misako smiles at Lloyd.

"Stay with us. Help us fight the good fight." Sensei says as the others come back.

"If that's okay with my son." Misako looks at Lloyd.

"Hey. The more, the merrier." Lloyd laughs

No kidding, I was rushing through this. I have a Monopoly game to do people.
