Pirates Vs. Ninja
Kaylee's POV
"So, I'm supposed to press this, and it'll call you to me?" I ask, staring dubiously at the watch on my wrist.
"Uh-huh. But only use it when you and the guys need help though." Nya instructs.
"Alright then." I put on the watch thingy and see Lloyd running towards us, just in time for our class.
"Now that I've given him his medicine, he should be able to fly properly soon. But it's important to take care of him because one day, he'll be yours and Kaylee's." Nya says, patting the dragon.
"Uh, mine. Really!" Lloyd gasps.
"Ours, but yes." I smile.
"Sure. The elemental Dragons were loyal to the four Ninja. But Ultra Dragon, he's meant for the Green and Silver Ninja to ride."
"Whoa! I never knew that." Lloyd grins.
"See? Even a samurai like myself can teach you a thing or two." Nya smiles.
"But, uh, I don't know how to fly," Lloyd explains.
"It's all in the legs," Nya assures and we look down at our stubby legs. I hate being short.
"Hehe." Lloyd nervously laughs.
"Uh-huh." I look at Nya.
"He'll be the fastest and strongest Dragon in all of Ninjago!" Nya happily says as Ultra lifts his body up into the air.
"Looks like he's already feeling better." Lloyd laughs.
"Go try to get some air, big boy," Nya calls.
We then go down to the front of our rather dumpy apartment and stare at Sensei.
"It's time we search Ninjago City for a more suitable place to train Lloyd." Sensei declares.
"Oh, but Sensei, Ninjago City is huge. It'll take us all day to find it on foot." Jay moans.
"And without our Golden Weapons, we have no Spinjitzu vehicles. How are we going to get around town?" Zane asks.
"You'll learn to travel with these." Sensei holds up a bus token.
"What are those?" Cole asks.
"They can transport you anywhere you want to go in the city," Sensei explains.
"Like a magic portal?" Cole asks.
"Ooh! Or a Spinjitzu vortex?" Jay excitedly stares at it until I take the tokens and show it to them.
"Hey, wait a minute, these are bus tokens." Cole realizes.
"Yeah, no shit sherlock." I roll my eyes.
"Language." Zane scolds.
We arrive at a place called Grand Sensei Dareth's Mojo Dojo.
"This is where Lloyd is going to train?" Cole asks, dubious.
"Hehe, it's better than our dumpy apartment," Jay says. We walk in, and a guy in a brown suit with a ton of chest hair and a weird medallion comes out of the beaded curtain.
"Welcome to Grand Sensei Dareth's Mojo Dojo. I am Grand Sensei Dareth, and I Dareth you to join my dojo. Heeya!" Dareth attempts a karate move and gets stuck in the curtain.
"Uh." We all sigh. Dareth gets himself untangled.
"Face the wall of karate trophies. If you look closely, my name is on all of them. That is because I am a highly-skilled karate machine." Dareth boasts.
"I thought black belts were the highest level, not brown," I comment.
"Where did you get all of that sass from?" Zane asks.
"She's been having lessons," Lloyd smirks.
"It's true." I nod my head.
"We need to have a talk. Where did you even learn swear words?"
"You guys."
"Look, Dareth, we're wondering if we could share your dojo. You see, we've been put in charge of training this little guy to become the greatest Ninja in all of Ninjago." Kai takes Lloyd under his arm.
"Not possible, for I am the greatest in the land. How many trophies do you have?" Dareth asks.
"Look, pal, we're the guys that just saved the city from that giant snake." Cole snaps.
"Ha! Am I looking at Lord Garmadon? Because unless I'm stupid, and I'm not, Lord Garmadon destroyed the Devourer." Dareth retorts.
"Hehe. That's been a huge misunderstanding. Actually, we were the ones who dest-" Jay reasons.
I'll let you train here but only on one condition. You can defeat me. If you succeed, we will share the dojo. Unh! That's right. I, Grand Sensei Dareth, master of all Animal Fighting Styles, challenge one of you to a battle. I know the tiger. Rawr. The python. Penguin. Awk, awk!" We look weirdly at him until Kai flips on his hood and does Spinjitzu, immediately knocking him to the ground. "How did you-" He asks.
"You might know animals, but we know Spinjitzu." Kai boasts.
"You can train in my dojo anytime." Dareth bows and leaves.
We call Sensei Wu over and start having him trained by the guys. I practice my telekinesis in the corner, silver mist lifting the heavy blocks/weights up. Silver mist clouds my vision slightly, discoloring everything in the room.
"You must be light on your feet. Hiyah!" A figure jumps around, fighting with another shorter person. The short person is Lloyd and judging by the sound of their voice, it's Jay.
"When you strike with your fists, concentrate. You may be small, but you're strong." This time, it might be Cole. Lloyd jumps up and hits the boards, making a minor earthquake. We all get thrown back, one of the blocks hitting my head.
"Ow," I mutter, shaking my head.
"That was the power of the Scythe of Quakes. And you did it without the Golden Weapon!" Jay gasps.
"That must be why you have the potential to be the greatest Ninja. You can harness all of the Elemental Powers." Zane informs.
"Really? Cool." Lloyd smiles childishly.
"With this power, you must be careful. You must control it before it controls you." Sensei warns.
"Kaylee, can you not make your eyes silver when you're doing your magic? It's really scary." Kai comments.
"I can't" I shrug. "It's a side effect. It bothers me too. Clouds my vision slightly, only can see silver."
"I have to admit, not bad for a kid. But instead of ten boards, how about fifty? Stack 'em, boys." Dareth walks in. "And perhaps if I, Grand Sensei Dareth, can break through them all, you will allow me to join your team and become... the Brown Ninja!" He throws a homemade ninja hoodie on. I slap my forehead.
"The Brown Ninja? You gotta be joking!" Jay laughs.
"Sorry, pal. Club's already full." Cole quips.
"Okay, okay. Then maybe this demonstration of my superhuman strength may persuade you. Jeffy, Phil, are we ready?" Dareth commands.
"Yes, Grand Sensei Dareth." Two boys bow. I feel sorry for them.
"Observe. I call upon the greatest animal to give me strength, the Dragon. Heeyah!" Dareth slams his hand on the boards. "Ow!!!" He cries, jumping up and down.
"Please stop yelling." I snap, using my magic to heal his wound.
"Thank you little lady fighter." He smiles.
"Don't call me little lady figh-" I jump up, but was interrupted by a cannon sounding. We rush outside.
"Oh, that's our ship!" Jay points.
"But pirates?" Lloyd asks.
"Pirates haven't been around for centuries." Cole hesitates.
"I sense Lord Garmadon is somehow behind this." Zane speculates.
"How are we gonna follow them?" Lloyd asks.
"Perhaps this can be of some use." Kai holds up a bus token, and then we jump on a bus that was conveniently stopped at our stop, not a second before. "I can't believe I'm saying this, but follow that ship!" We sit down on chairs. "Ugh, I don't like the kids coming along. It's too dangerous."
"Please, please, please. I'll be super good." Lloyd begs.
"Hold up, kid? I fought snakes and skeletons, pirates will be nothing!" I assure.
"The powers inside you are still too great, too uncontrollable," Zane tells Lloyd.
"One of these days you'll be able to join us. Sorry kid." Cole pats Lloyd's head.
"What about me?" I ask.
"You stay here and make sure Lloyd doesn't do something stupid!" Kai calls, jumping to the front of the bus.
"We're doing something stupid." I declare.
"What?" Lloyd asks. I pull him from his seat and get off right as the bus stops. I see Ultra from above, and whistle, causing him to go down low. I throw Lloyd up, using my magic, and fly up. (FYI: Ultra's not on the ground, he's a bit in the air.)
"We're gonna join the fight. Take the reins, you should learn to ride him." I say, and Lloyd hesitantly takes it.
"Alright! This is kinda like steering the Bounty. Same concept, but with a dragon!"
"Okay then." We fly to the pirate ship, where Lloyd points out a certain 'Brown Ninja' "Woo-hoo!" He cheers, catching him just in time.
"I-I called the Dragon. I-I called the Dragon!" Dareth happily yells.
"Not quite, but we'll take it." I smile. We drop off Dareth near a building and then we return to the scene of action. "Alright. Jump and hold on to that rope!" I point to a rope. I jump, and Lloyd copies me, us swinging on the Bounty.
"Ninja, go!" We yell, knocking over a pirate.
"Pirate, go!" The pirate replies.
"Lloyd! Kaylee! You're not supposed to be here!" Kai stuffs us in a barrel. We accidentally throw him over the side and release the anchor.
"Come here, you blurry little munchkins!" The pirate yells, trying to stab us.
"Ninja, go!" Lloyd turns around and we do a combo Spinjitzu thingy, breaking out of the barrel. I get thrown to the side, dizzy. "Whoa, Spinjitzu! I just did Spinjitzu for the first time!" Lloyd cheers. The pirate then fights back, and Lloyd falls on the anchoring lever. Kai comes back up and helps me up. Lloyd then tries to use his energy powers, green light shining everywhere.
"Lloyd! Don't! Your powers are too uncontrollable!" Kai calls.
"Aah!" Lloyd lets go of the energy ball and it goes backward on the mast. We start running, me frantically pressing the call button on my watch. We all get caught under the mast.
"You lose, Pajama People." The pirate smirks. "Now you're walking the plank." Suddenly, a loud crashing noise sounds above us, as Nya in her Samurai mech comes along. I smile, the watch actually worked! Nya takes the mast and puts it back, as tying up the pirates.
"Who wins between pirates and Ninja? It's Samurai!" Jay cheers, making Nya laugh and he sighs dreamily. We get the pirates off of the Bounty, and in handcuffs.
"Good work, team." The police person smiles.
"Don't forget to include these guys." Kai noogies Lloyd.
"Uh, that your ship?" The policeman points to the Bounty.
"It sure is," Jay confirms.
"Sorry, you snooze, you lose!" Garmadon cackles.
"Lord Garmadon!" Kai growls.
"Dad!" Lloyd gasps.
"You're becoming stronger, son, but you'll never be strong enough to defeat me. Give up, before it's too late." He declares. We all smile at Lloyd and he goes to stand by us. "Have it your way. Another day, Ninja. Another day." He flies away with our ship.
"Ah, great. Lord Garmadon is back, and now he's got our ship." Jay sighs.
"Well, at least we've got this guy." I point to Lloyd. Dareth slides up to Jay whistling but then Jay judo-flips him (Annabeth from PJO/HOO? Anyone?)
"Oh, come on, guys. I Dareth you to forgive me." Dareth sighs, and we all laugh.
This isn't my one of my favorite episode of Season 2, but it's symbolic.
