Never Trust A Snake
Kaylee's POV
"Go, General! The Hypnobrai. Now to teach them a lesson for betraying Lloyd Garmadon!" Lloyd yells, pointing towards where the Hypnobrai. "Uh, do your thing, Fangpyre. I let you out of your home for a reason!"
"Attack!" Fangtom yelled, not before seeing the general of the Hypnobrai. "Sssskales, my old chum! I didn't think I'd be fighting you. Hmm, moved up in the world, have we?"
"If it isn't the Fangpyre. Of all the cold-blooded to creep upon ussss, I'm glad it issss a friend." Skales spoke.
"Wait, I thought you were enemies, not friends!" Lloyd exclaimed.
"We were at war. But seeing that Sssskales is now leading them, well, I don't see why we can't be comradesss."
"Have you released the Constrictai, the Venomari, or heaven forbid the Anacondrai, then we would've had a tussle." Skales laughed along with Fangtom.
"A tussle? A tussle!? But I'm Lloyd Garmadon! Bringer of evil!" Lloyd started to throw a fit as the now immobile army decided to come together, making acquaintances with each other. I pulled him behind a car.
"Lloyd, we have to get out of here!" I hiss at him and Lloyd fired back.
"I am not abandoning my chance to get them back!"
"What if you get hurt? Tell me, tell me one good reason I should let you out there!"
"Hehe. What should we do with him?" Skales asked.
"I could turn him into one of us." Fangtom shrugged. "But what about the girl?"
"Hmm, no, the little tyke is pretty useless." Skales threw away one idea, and I kept a firm grip on Lloyd. "Asss for the girl, we can keep her hostage. Ssshe ssseemsss important to the ninja. A good, bartering tool." Oh no. That wasn't on my to-do list.
"What if you hypnotize him and make him think he's a pig?" Geez, it's like Fangtom's got a personal vendetta against Lloyd now.
"That'd be pretty funny."
"Hahaha! Can you imagine?" I pulled Lloyd and we both start running, as both Hypnobrai and Fangpyre surround us, we get on a tail of a rattler and it swings us up, up, up, and away. Into the desert, we shake the sand off our bodies and Lloyd quickly gets up, and with the map in hand, he gets up and reads it.
"Let's not try that again" I groan and catch up with Lloyd, who is muttering to himself. "Are you okay?"
"Had you released the Constrictai, the Venomari, or heaven forbid the Anacondrai, then we would've had a tussle. Pfft. oh, what? Oh-uh, yeah I'm okay. Thanks, Kaylee."
"No problem. But Lloyd. Shouldn't we not be letting out another Serpentine tribe? You see how the others betrayed you. What if this one turns out the same?"
"I found it! The Anacondrai. The most feared and powerful Serpentine of them all. And if they're afraid of the Anacondrai, then the Anacondrai is what they're gonna get! Mwahahahahaha!" We start venturing in the tomb, Lloyd still ignoring my question. There was only sand, stone, and skeletons. We turn around, only to be greeted by one dinosaur-looking Anacondrai.
"Aah!" Me and Lloyd both yell in fear, and Lloyd also dropped his flashlight.
"My sincerest apologies, young man and girl. Oh, dear, due to my unfortunate appearance, I tend to have an unsettling effect on people, heh. Oh, I believe you dropped this." He hands him his flashlight. "Ah, there you go."
"Uh, thank you," Lloyd said, grasping the trusty flashlight carefully.
"What happened to the others?" I ask, looking around.
"Poor, unfortunate souls. All those years, locked away with nothing to eat. Must have slowly starved away until they were just scales and bones. And who may you be, my little appetize—Uh, I mean, friends?"
"Lloyd Garmadon. Son of Lord Garmadon and future dark ruler."
"Kaylee,"
"Oh, hahaha. How deliciously evil. If I had feet, ooh, I'd be trembling in my boots." I'm pretty sure he was talking about Lloyd.
"And, uh, who are you?" Lloyd asked.
"Humbly, I am Pythor P. Chumsworth. And since you've freed me, I am eternally in your service." He bows a low bow, then gets up.
"Really? You're not gonna trick us?" I suspiciously ask.
"Oh, why would I trick you? I hardly have any friends." Pythor speaks. That's not good enough for me.
"Whoa. I hardly have any friends too, well, besides Kaylee" Wait, what does that mean?!?
"You don't say."
"Hey, how would you like to be my loyal henchman? I've been betrayed by the Hypnobrai and the Fangpyres, and I'm looking to get a little revenge on some Ninja too."
"Hmm, I love revenge! Oh, you know Floyd—" Ok, that's a villain right there. Who gets someone's name wrong that easily!
"It's Lloyd."
"Whatever. I have a feeling this is the start of a beautiful friendship." Pythor takes Lloyd by the shoulder and leads him out of the tomb. I let out a small huff and sit down on a rock. Yeah, the start of a friendship, and the end of one. Well, like Sensei taught me, nothing lasts forever. I sadly start drawing pictures in the grainy sand. I don't know how long it's been, but before I know it, I have fallen asleep.
The next morning, Lloyd woke me up early, explaining to me that he and Pythor were having a double revenge at Darkly's Boarding School for Bad Boy's. As I sleepily go up and followed them as they went from one prank shop to another, grabbing items like dust, slime, rope, and other stuff. We then traveled by bike to Darkly's Boarding and began setting up, and soon after we were almost ready. As Lloyd and Pythor were typing up the teachers and students, I was at the top of the school, on the roof-top, maybe 10 miles from the ground. Or it just could be my imagination. I slowly got the cannon working, all the while not looking down. One wrong move... then ker-plat! I'd be a pancake at the bottom of this area. I step away from the cannon as the dynamic duo comes up and decides to take watch. I nervously step around for an easy way out but I was still too scared to even step even further than the center, lest I fall down to my death. Lloyd worriedly paces around the rooftop, on high alert.
"Relax, we've made the perfect trap. We're in broad daylight so there aren't any ssshadows. But even if they could get in—" Pythor rolls his eyes at Lloyd's behavior.
"What's that?" Lloyd yells and Pythor quickly tests out the cannon, firing the net right on the poor lizard. "Oh, good. Yeah, good reflexes. I was just testing you. If I know these Ninjas, they're cleverly sneaking their way right past us at this very moment." Well, at least the cannon works. A low rumbling issued from above up as the crackle of metal chains soaring right above us, and going down. We all jump out of the way and I nearly fall, but not before Lloyd grabbed my hand.
"I got you." He spoke as he hauled me up.
"Thanks," I say, slumping down near a point on the roof. As Pythor came back up, he took a beam of wood and threw it over the trapdoor.
"They're coming. They're coming. They're coming!" Lloyd starts running around in circles, panicking and then a bolt of lightning opens up the trapdoor and throws the beam into the air.
"Shocked to see me?" Jay spoke, swinging around the golden nunchucks threateningly.
"Do something!" Lloyd yells, but Pythro takes the map from him. I knew he was going to betray us! "Wh-what are you doing? I thought you were my friend."
"All you wanted was to make the Ssserpentine your ssslave. Well, sssorry, my dear boy, I have other plansss." Pythor spoke. If he gets the map, then he can get all of the Serpentine tribes out and unite them! I run up to him and grab on his neck. I can faintly hear the sounds of: "Where'd they go?" as we fumble around, each trying to take the map.
"Hope you like heights." He hisses and I was flung off the roof.
"Kaylee!" Lloyd yells as he tries to catch me, but fails and is taken away by a shocked/scared Jay.
"AAAHHHHH!!!!" I yell, waving my arms around, the wind whistling in the ears as the ground came closer, and closer. This was not how I wanted to die! I close my eyes and put my hands up in front of me for a miracle. I suddenly stop, and I open my eyes, I was about a foot from the ground and silver energy was issuing from my hands, stopping me from reaching the ground. I step upright and push off against the ground. I was flying. Flying!
(It's like this, but silver)
(Wanda is such a queen honestly)
"Haha! Woohoo!" I spin around gleefully as trailing silver sparkles fly out behind me.
"The Silver Ninja is..." Kai starts, with a shocked expression.
"Kaylee." Zane finishes and I land on the roof. Lloyd runs to greet me and we both happily hug each other.
"That was awesome!" Lloyd speaks and I smile a bit.
"Well, you can't get rid of me that easily!" I exclaim, but then the guys come out. Oh no. we're in huge trouble now.
"What should we do with them? Wash their mouths out with soap for a year?" Cole suggests. Ew! We didn't even say any bad words!
"Ground them indefinitely?" Kai suggests. Oh, not on my watch! Last time I got grounded, I got kidnapped! No way am I going to do that again!
"Have them sit in a corner for a century?" Zane asks. Uh, no thanks. I wish to live my life to the fullest and not stare at a slowly dusting wall.
"I know exactly what we must do." Wu looks at the both of us and we gulp.
It's nighttime at the Bounty and me and the ninja are piled at Lloyd's room as Sensei Wu reads Lloyd a story.
"And that is why Jack the Rabbit never trusts a snake. The end." Wu closes the book and sets it down by the wall.
"Oh, if my dad had read me that book, I would never have made that mistake. I'm sorry, uncle." Lloyd apologizes remorsefully. But, had I also mentioned that this is the first time I seen Lloyd without his hood? He looks so nice! Why does he have to have his hood on?
"Oh, you do not need to apologize. I am sure that if your father was still here, it would be the first book he'd read. Good night, nephew. Sweet dreams." Sensei Wu turns off Lloyd's light and walks out of the room.
"Ah, good night, uncle." We follow Sensei Wu out of the hallway and on the deck.
"I don't get it, Sensei." Kai starts.
"Why aren't they getting punished?" Jay asks.
"Hey! I have to do extra training! That's a bad enough punishment." I huff and the guys laugh.
"Yeah, we had to train all day and he gets read a bedtime story? It's not fair!" Cole interjects. At least their not talking about me!
"Hmm, you're right, I nearly forgot. Why are you not still training? Did you find the answer to the riddle?" Huh? What riddle? I gotta hear this!
"No, Sensei. We still don't know what the best way to defeat your enemy is." They hang their heads and start walking out.
"Oh! You got that lesson!" I instantly brighten up and the guys all look at me.
"Well, what is it!" Jay asks.
"It's to make them your friend!"
"Oh."
"Of course," Jay says.
I got into the room me and Nya were sharing, as I climbed into bed, Nya started speaking.
"Let me guess, you had to tell the guys the answer," Nya smirks and I smile.
"Yup. I guess they didn't ask you for any ideas huh?"
"Yup! But, it was fun to see them struggle!" Nya exclaims.
"Ha! I wish I was there to see it!"
"Well, I need some help on my SX project. Can you help me with some stuff?" Nya's voice goes down into a whisper. Oh! Plan SX is in motion!
"Of course! Does that mean?" I ask.
"Yup! Plan SX is in motion!" Nya pumps her hand in the air, then goes to close the light. "Goodnight Kaylee."
"Goodnight Nya." I yawn and the lights go out.
I had been waiting for this chapter. But I feel like I made Lloyd a bit out of character :( welp now we need to get into a long way ahead of us :( idk how I'm going to do it! Well, this chapter did take longer than I expected. Also, my Chromebook AKA the thing I'm using to write is the worst. :( and since the coronavirus, I probably have no hope of actually getting a good computer one day. :( Oh well. Hope you enjoy though. Try to find the Marvel refrence here!
