(POV James) (Sunday) (Time: 6:17pm)

"James hurry up!" The muffled voice of Matt had echoed behind the door, I finished brushing my hair and placed the brush on the counter.

"I'm getting ready, shut up!" I screamed back, I sprayed my pits with deodorant making sure they didn't stink, I put on my white tee and black hoodie, I used my hand to smell my own breath, wasn't bad so its fine, I walked over and opened the bathroom door, I stepped out and was greeted by Matt staring at me with a smile.

"Looking good, blue jeans and black hoodie combo, classic." Matt said whilst giving me a thumbs up.

"Well we aren't going to some restaurant so may as well look casual." I replied shrugging my shoulders.

"My little boy going on his first date." He said in a fake sad tone, wiping under his left eye.

"Shut up." I replied as I picked up an empty water bottle and threw it at him, causing him to flinch in response to it hitting him, he just laughed for a second before sitting up straight.

"What's the plan?" He asked.

"Well there is still that festival in Vale, so probably go there." I replied whilst fiddling with my hoodie string.

"Nice, win her some prizes, maybe kiss at the top of the Ferris Wheel?" He sarcastically replied.

"I doubt we are going to kiss on the first date Matt." I said

"You never know man."

I took my scroll out of my right pocket and looked at the time, 6:20PM, I placed my scroll in my right pocket, I grabbed my wallet and placed it in my left pocket.

"Alright I should probably get going, don't wanna keep her waiting."

"Go getter tiger."

With that, I left the dorm and began walking through the halls till I reached Velvets dorm, I sighed to myself and shook any negative thoughts out of my head.

'Tonight will go fine,' I thought to myself, I knocked on the door and within a few seconds the door swung open, I was greeted by Coco waiting, she had a stern look, she walked out and closed the door behind her, still keeping eye contact.

"So, where are you taking her?" She asked sternly

"I was thinking the festival in town," I said, confused by the sudden question.

"What time will you be back,"

"Uhh, I dunno, like past 11pm, I'm not sure, it depends on how the night goes?" I replied being 100 percent honest.

"Any condoms on you?"

"Why the fuck would I carry condoms?" I questioned a tad aggressively .

"In case you get lucky tonight," She stated whilst folding her arms.

"Look, I don't know about you, but I don't plan on trying to sleep with Velvet tonight, It's a first date, just see where things go," I told her, she unfolded her arms and smiled at me.

"I knew I could trust you James," She replied, the sound of the door opening had caught our attentions, standing at the open door was Velvet, she was wearing black skinny jeans, red and black checked flannel and black high tops, Coco stood aside as Velvet walked forward.

"Hey James, you look great," Velvet said with a cute smile on her face.

"I was going to say the same to you," I said trying my hardest to hide my blush.

"I'll leave you lover birds too it." Coco said as she snickered, walking back into her dorm, closing the door behind her, I looked at Velvet and saw her looking down with her cheeks a little bit flushed.

"So I was thinking of going to the festival still in town," I said catching her attention.

"Yeah sounds good" She responded stuttering at the start.

I nodded in return as we both walked down the hall to the elevator, we got in and I pressed the ground floor, once down there we walked down the hall and outside to the landing pads, we got on one of the transport ships with a few other students, once on we found two seats and sat next to each other, we sat in silence for a few minutes until the door's closed and the ship began taking off.

"So...nice night huh?" I said while looking at her.

"Yeah, it's not going to rain so that's good." She responded while looking at her lap, I nodded and looked to my right, while my brain went haywire 

'NICE NIGHT, WHAT THE FUCK CONVERSATION STARTER IS THAT, THINK MAN THINK' I screamed to myself, I could feel my brain punching itself.

"What was Coco saying to you before we left?" Velvet asked, snapping me out of my own thoughts.

"Huh...Oh, nothing important, just asking where we were going is all," I told her as I rubbed the back of my head, she chuckled while still looking at her lap, but soon met my eyes.

"Seems like a Coco thing, she's basically been like a guardian angel ever since I joined Beacon," 

"Yeah, the things I've seen her do, makes me glad I'm on the right side,"

"Hehe, yeah I'm glad she's such a nice person, like you," 

"Oh, thank you, you're a nice person too," 

I could feel my cheeks getting warm from that remark, it's nice to know she thinks greatly of me, she then turned her head to look out the window, I've never had this sort of feeling towards someone before, after a few more minutes of silence the ship landed, everyone got up from their seats and started walking off the ship, Velvet and I followed behind.

As we got of the ship I looked around and saw a man sitting in his car smoking a cigarette, on top of his car was a sign that said Taxi, I walked to his car as Velvet followed behind me, he looked at me and blew smoke from his mouth, he threw his cigarette out the window just as I got near the door.

"Where ya headin?" He asked, his voice was grizzly and slightly deep, sounded like he smoked eight packs a day for the last ten years.

"We are heading to the festival in town," I said trying to ignore the smokers breath

"Figured as much, alright hop in,"

I opened the back door for Velvet letting her in first, she smiled and got in the car, I closed the door and walked around to the other side, I opened the door and got in, I closed the door and buckled my seatbelt, he pressed a button on his dial machine and began to drive, the first few minutes were a quiet ride, Velvet was looking out the window and all these negative thoughts rushed into my head, 'was she regretting this date', 'should I of done something fancier', but I pushed those thoughts back and tried to remain calm, thankfully it stopped being quiet as the driver spoke up.

"So how long have you two been dating?" He asked, I had to collect my train of thought before responding.

"This is out first date," I said as I looked over at Velvet as she looked at me.

"Ahh, well I gotta say festival is a good choice, tons of fun game, rides to go on, lots of delicious foods, perfect place to be, restaurants are too expensive and the movies are stupid, like you can't have a conversation during the movie, otherwise you look like a cock,"

I sort of chuckled at his statement as Matt had suggested the movies to me, but I declined it thankfully.

"Well I kinda free balled it with the whole festival thing, good timing I guess." I told him, I could see him smile in the rearview mirror.

"Yeah good timing." He said as his car came to a halt, he parked his car and pressed a button on his dial machine, he then looked back at me with a smile.

"Don't worry about payment, just make sure you win her a couple of stuffed animals and treat her to a good meal." He said with a smile on his face, I looked at him while baffled.

"Are you sure?" I asked, he just kept his smile and waved his hand.

"Just have fun okay." He said, I smiled back as Velvet and I got out of the car and walked towards the fair, and he drove off. 

We walked around the fair and our first stop was a food vendor, it was a sweet stand, tons of cakes, candies and even ice-cream, I got a small bag of orange gummies and Velvet got a stick of cotton candy, I used my card to pay and we walked off.

"So, how's the cotton candy?"

"It's good, want some?"

"Sure, never had it before," I said causing Velvet to stop while giving me a horrified and shocked look, like I shot her dog in front of her.

"You've never had it?" She asked still shocked, I just nodded which caused her to thankfully give me a normal look.

"No, I've always seen it on like TV and stuff but never had it before," This answer wasn't enough for her as she ripped a piece off with her hands and held it near my face, I went to grab it but she moved her hand away, I lowered my hand as she placed her hand back near my face.

"Come on, bite it." She said while waving it in my face, I just sighed and took a bite of the cotton candy, before I could chew or anything, it melted in my mouth, I swallowed it and the flavours kicked in.

"Is that pineapple and strawberry?" I questioned whilst my taste-buds danced.

"Yes it is, you've got some great buds." She said with a wink, I smiled and pulled one of the gummies out the bag and held it to her, she then ate it out my hand in a flash, it was a blur, I looked at her as she swallowed the gummy and smiled at me

"Delicious." We both just looked at each other and kinda laughed, we then continued through the festival, Velvet would occasionally hold out pieces of cotton candy to me and I would hold out a gummy to her, I have no idea why we are doing this, after a minute of walking Velvet stopped in her tracks and looked passed me, I look at her and look to my right and see a games stand with many prizes, plushies from small sizes to the size of a small child, I looked back at Velvet, as she was still looking at the stand.

"Did you want one?"

She only nodded at me, we both walked over to the stand as the guy behind the counter was sorting cups around the table only to lay them all straight out, the guy playing pointed at a cup only for the owner to lift it and have nothing underneath

"Sorry sir, but you lost again," The man behind the stand told the man

"Man this games rigged, you're cheating,"

"I'm just faster than you sir, you can play again if you wish to try your luck,"

"Go fuck yourself, how about that?" The guy said angrily while walking away from the counter in a huff, the owner just smiled and waved, we both then approached the counter.

"Enjoy your evening sir," He said while waving to the man, he stopped waving and looked at Velvet and I.

"Hello there, wish to try your luck and win a prize for your lady?" He asked with a smile and cheer behind his voice

"Sure, how do I play?" I asked

"It's simple, under one of this cups is a rubber ball, at the start I will show you which cup it is and I'll then mix the cups randomly, you then pick a cup, if the cup has the ball under it you win, however chose the wrong cup and you lose, there are 4 rounds to this, if you win one round you get a small prize, win two rounds you get a medium sized prize, win four rounds and you win a big prize, however if you lose at any point the progress resets, so if you lose your third game, you lose the medium prize." He told me, I just gave him a confused look trying to remember all of what he said.

"Care to try?" He asked

"Sure, how much?"

"All 4 games come to $10"

"Sure, let's do it"

I scan my card into the machine, it approves and the owner smiles, he moves the cups around a little to change the spots, and looks me in the eyes.

"Ready?" He asked as I only nodded back, he lifts all four cups to show the ball under cup one, places them back down and begins to mix the cups, his speed is fast but not crazy, he stops after six seconds and stands back.

"Which once?"

I pointed at cup three, he lifts it and shows the ball is there, he places the cups back down and moves the cups in a different formation, he lifts all four and shows the ball under cup one again, places them back down and mixes the cups faster this time, but I keep my eye focused on the cup, he stops and I point to cup one, he lifts it and shows the ball there, he places the cup down and rearranges them.

"You have a very keen eye,"

"Thank you, I've been told I have very fast reflexes."

The owner lifts all four cups and shows the ball under cup four, places them down and shuffles them, he's going even faster than before, he stops after eight seconds and moves back, I pointed at cup two, he lifts it and there it is, I look at him as he has a look of a little fear in his eyes, he places the cups down and does the same routine, but this time, placing a fifth cup, he lifts them and its under cup two again, places it and this time, goes faster then I've seen someone go, his hands becoming a near blur, I keep contact with the cup until a man bumped into me causing me to look in his direction.

"Sorry man." He said, as I quickly looked back and saw the man had stopped shuffling, he had a sinister grin on him, this was planned, the motherfucker planned it.

"Which cup?"

"That ain't fair, that guy pushed me."

"You looked away, make your pick."

I could see he was enjoying this, but this bastard doesn't realise, he tried scamming the wrong guy, I got down on one knee and looked at the rims of the cups, I placed one hand on the ground and used my seismic sense, only to see all the cups were empty, I stood up and looked him dead in the eye.

"They're all empty,"

"The ball is under one of these cups,"

"I call bullshit." I looked him in the eyes and could tell he wasn't going to give up, I had to think of a way to prove it, or I would if god wasn't on myside, as another stranger walked over to the booth, he was stumbling and leaning side to side, the man trips over himself and slams right into the booth, the hit was hard enough to knock all the cups over, showing that the ball, was under no cup at all, the guy quickly got up and ran away after apologising, I just looked the owner dead in the eye.

"So...what were you saying," I asked him while giving him a smirk, he just looked at me with slight fear

"I was asking which prize you were after." He said while choking on a few words.

"What would you like Velvet?"

"The big fox please." She said all giddily as the owner reached up and grabbed the big fox plushie off the shelf and handed it to Velvet, his smile was fake, probably like his teeth.

"Have a wonderful evening." He told us, we both walked away from the booth as Velvet was hugging her new plushie, she turned to me curiously.

"How did you know the cups had nothing underneath them?" She asked curiously

"Well he kept looking more and more distraught as the game went on, then a 'stranger' bumps into me and his expression changes, it just felt off, I'm just confused about that other dude, he stumbles over and then runs away, kinda weird." I responded hoping she would buy it, which by her look, she did.

"Yeah it was weird, maybe that second dude was a guardian angel." She said with a hint of curiosity 

"Doubt it." I just said blankly, with that we continued walking, Velvet then screeched and ran to another booth, I soon followed suit.

(POV Change Matt)

"Fuck that hurt!" I said while sitting behind a booth after throwing myself into that stand, I held my right hand on the back of my head and just rubbed it.

"Yeah looked like it." A feminine voice said, I quickly stood up and got into a fighting stance, while looking into the direction of the voice...only to see Coco standing a few feet away, I stood normally and sighed in relief.

"Oh it's just you, wait what are you doing here?" I asked her curiously.

"I could ask you the same," She said as she had no emotion in her voice, but I noticed her attention was behind me and not at me, I looked back and saw James and Velvet at another games booth, this one was a shooting game, I looked back at Coco as she stared me in the eyes.

"I'm here to make sure the date goes okay and to make sure he doesn't do anything to hurt her," She stated, which made me just confused and a bit angry

"Hurt her?, you realise this is James you are talking about, If anything you should find that dude that bumped into him," I said angrily.

"I did, he's unconscious in a dumpster," She said coldly and I could feel the cold stare even behind the glasses

"That's...scary but cool," I say as I look back and noticed James had won Velvet another prize, this one being a small blue panda, after getting the prize they walked away.

"We both were never here, understand." She said while looking at my eyes, the only thing I felt in that moment was fear, the only other person able to make me feel like this was Lord Silver, but now I know not to fuck with her either, I didn't say anything, I only nodded, she smirked and raised her hoodie.

"Good, then lets follow."

She walked in their direction as I raised my hoodie again and followed her.

(POV Change James)

After winning more prizes and eating more food, I looked at the time and noticed it was 10:25pm, I looked at Velvet and she was happily walking along while eating some small pancakes, she scoffed the last one down and threw her plate in a nearby bin, she looked at me with the same loving smile as earlier.

"So, what now?" She asked while looking around.

"Well it is getting kinda late but I figured we go on the Ferris-Wheel as a tribute to a lovely night." I responded as she smiled and nodded her head.

"Sounds like a lovely idea." She responded as I could only nod and walk to the Ferris-Wheel with her, thankfully the line was short and there were only a few people a head of us.

"How lucky was it that we could get those prizes delivered to Beacon?" She questioned as I just nodded while looking at her.

"I know right, it's like they knew we needed that." I told her as she nodded back.

We both then finally got in one of the cabins and were able to get one for just us, as the ride began for us I noticed Velvets hand next to me, I took and deep breath and slid my hand down and held hers, she looked at her hand and looked at me, I looked back and got to truly stare eye to eye, it was silent and I felt as if time stopped, not a word was spoken between us, she slowly leaned towards me as I did the same, she tilted her head a little to her right as I tilted my head to my right, we slowly got closer and closer until we were two inches apart, I could feel her breath on my face and it smelt sweet, we both blinked as we closed our eyes and inched closer, and...we shared a kiss, her lips tasted that of strawberry and maple syrup, we kept the kiss going for what felt like an eternity, but was only about ten seconds, we parted away as I opened my eyes to meet hers, silence still as she just smiled, I went to speak but she put a finger over my mouth and hushed me, she moved closer to where our legs were touching.

"I'm glad you agreed to this date James." With that she leaned in for another kiss, one I happily accepted we kept kissing for another ten seconds but this time with a bit of tongue, we stopped as we both heard what sounded like cheering, I looked around and saw people just walking around and even in the other cabins people were minding their own business.

"Did you hear that?" I asked as she just shrugged her shoulders and went back for another kiss.

After about eight more minutes the ride came to an end, we both got off the ride and walked all the way back to the entrance of the festival, the whole time we were holding hands, we found a taxi and I let Velvet in first and got in after her, we got a ride back to the landing pads and from there back to Beacon, we got back at around 11:20pm, I walked with Velvet through the building and back to her dorm, she stood in front of me and gave me a kiss on the cheek.

"Thank you for the wonderful night, hopefully we can do it again." She said with a smile.

"Yeah I'd like that," I said while just staring into her beautiful eyes, her dorm door opened and Coco was standing there in her PJ's she looked at both of us and saw us holding hands, she smiled and looked at me.

"Went well I'm guessing." Coco asked with a smirk.

"Yeah, he got me a ton of prizes." Velvet said happily, Coco nodded and moved to the side, showing a bed with a ton of plushies around it.

"I know he did, these came under your name." Coco said as I looked shocked.

"Fuck that was quick." I said while staring at the pile.

"I know right." Velvet agreed as Coco snapped her fingers catching our attention as she pointed at a clock.

"Hate to be a bitch but we've got school tomorrow so hurry up and get to bed." Coco told us as Velvet and I just stared at each other and giggled.

"I'll see you tomorrow." I said to her as she just gave me a kiss on the cheek and walked into her dorm waving me goodbye as I did the same, Coco then shut the door as I walked away and then ran all the way back to my dorm, once I arrived I slammed the door open and turned the lights on, causing Matt to jump awake and look at me a bit angrily.

"Dude I was sleeping." He said groggily as he lied back into bed.

"I know and I'm sorry, but dude we fucking kissed and on the Ferris-Wheel no less." I said in excitement, this caused Matt to sit back up and look at me, he smiled and just looked me in the eyes.

"Are you being deadass." He said happily, I just kept my smile and nodded, he jumped up out of bed and just fuck ran at me and hugged me.

"I knew it man, I fucking knew it would go well." He said in a tight grip, he let go and just looked at me. "I'm proud of you." He said, I just hugged him back and was just too happy, I parted the hug and sat on my bed and he closed the door and sat on his.

"Dude it was perfect, everything went amazingly." I said still giddy, he just smiled at me shook his head.

"I knew you could do it man, you just needed a little push, and thanks to you, Wrench owes me $50." He said I just gave him a wtf look.

"Wrench bet against me?" I said faking to be hurt.

"Only because I said it would go well, he was routing for you too, and I hate to be a prick but we should sleep, we've got school for the week and then our plan." He said that last part with a hint of seriousness in his voice.

"Yeah, I should get rested for it, it's gonna be a long mission." I said as he only nodded, I quickly grabbed my sweatpants and went into the bathroom to change, after changing I got out of the bathroom and turned the lights off, I got into bed and closed my eyes.

"Goodnight Matt." I said as he just groaned

"Goodnight James." He said softly, as I could only feel happiness from tonight.
