HI I HAVE NOT THOUGHT IN ANYTHING BUT ZELDA TERMINOLOGY FOR 5 DAYS!!

Nintendo, Zelda specifically, is a HUGE consistent fixation of mine so I was absolutely THRILLED when tears of the kingdom came out this past Friday (I played it Thursday evening cause digital copies release earlier). So here's my general review so far, spoilers ofc but nothing regarding the very end!

So I've decided that I like TOTK and BOTW (breath of the wild) both in different ways. The new game I ADORE the storyline. So much work and love was put into tying it loosely back to older games and was chock full of references that made me so happy to learn about. I much prefer the story from TOTK than BOTW.

The just attention to detail the entire game has floored me, literally!! There's 3 different "floors" of the map to explore!! I'm terrified of the depths though it's too damn dark down there lol. I will say that I've never felt so much joy jumping into a giant hole and there ACTUALLY being something down there! Usually I just die and move on!

The enemies, YEESH. To actually fight? HATE THEM. They are so fucking annoying to fight and there's a certain sentient tree that will literally pop right out of the ground and chase you that freaks me tf out. From a development sense? SO GOOD. There's so much thought put in to really make the game so unsettling and eerie and I've only ever gotten that in Majora's Mask and bits and pieces of Skyward Sword. This just tops it overall, the game just amplifies that creepy feeling completely to keep you on your toes and I LIVE for it.

I LOVE THAT SIDON HAS A FIANCÉ!! Minor spoiler here but I mentioned that earlier. I am a petty Zelink shipper till the day I die and there's no way I'm not fucking thrilled that the biggest ship rival is now in a relationship. None of the "Sidon has two hands" crap, stop being goofy. I could never actually enjoy his character cause of the damn internet ruining him for me so I hope I'll like him more this time around.

ZELDA, JUST ZELDA. She's so fucking cute all the time in the game and her relationship with Link is so sweet. I'll just insert this little tumblr post in here so I don't have to explain BUT:

THIS IS REAL!! Her diary is in Link's house and everything!! They canonically live together!!! It's about the cutest thing ever and I love them just together and also just Zelda in general being the best character at any given moment. (I am not being held at gunpoint to write this 0.0').

I'll leave it there for now cause I've got so much more to explore but I love this game, I've been waiting for 4 years to play it and it was so worth it.
