Little caged bird (a)
The bars were browner everyday.
My kind was awakening,
Soon they'll sore through the air into the sky. Singing on a new day and flying away,
they'll pass by to say hey while pity will shine from their black button eyes yet another day.
My resolve that died ages ago, was strengthening anew.
My caged bars were browner everyday.
I should thank the rain I suppose, the more it fell the more the restricted cage darkened like rotten kale.
I'll wait for its demise then,
beat my beak against it.
The feathers on my sides have turned out and sighed,
'We wish to be free'
Oh, how I yearn to fly, spread my little wings and cut through breeze. Defy the winds and kiss the clouds.
Ironic how I am outside but inside too. The trees rise above me giving me a dream of building a home there.
Nature was almost kissing me if not for this cage.
I sing and sing, they think its beautiful.
The two legged creatures.
But,
I sing and sing for my lost liberty that I never had, I sing for the tug of hope I felt rising in my heart.
The sky is turning grey again, a sign of rain.
Amen!
As the pelts fall and seize, some time later, the hue changes more. If only a little bit but I notice.
It's not far when this little caged bird will break free of these bars.
This little caged bird's dream is almost here....
It's not quite clear at some paragraphs but it's a sequel so...
Love always.
