Preparing for War (Day 1)

The sun barely rose over the horizon as we can see a couple of people walking around UA Academy, from teachers preparing their teaching materials to some of the students running around the campus doing exercises, such as jogging, jumping jacks, and several other forms.

What everyone didn't see was the rough green-haired kip with a mask walking through the halls towards the Principal's direction. If someone was in these halls, however, nobody would've seen nor heard anything out of place, as if they were in an empty hallway. You see, this was a 'gift/joke' that both Mecha and Hatsume Mei had made for him for a Halloween party. Now, he could appreciate the utility of the... 'costume', but the appearance of it is something that Silence wishes to change. You see, the costume is one of those 'blanket' ghosts, with face and all, but it could turn anything under it invisible.

The reason he's using it now is that he needed to have a talk with Nedzu about what the hell he had in mind for his family, and later to visit Mei about said costume. He loves his family too much and wishes to protect them to the best of his abilities, even if they are more powerful than himself, but it can be a pain to have a conversation with him at times. So talking to him by surprise and taking the initiative can help once in a while.

When Silence was close to the Principal's office door, he deactivated his quirk and leans to the door and tried to hear what he was doing, on to hear the clicking sounds of a keyboard, although very faint, meaning that he's working on his computer at the minimum.

Silence nodded to himself and activated his quirk again and opened the door and entered the room unnoticed by the principal himself.

"Hello Nedzu," Silence mechanical voice rang into the room, startling the chimera.

In one quick motion removed the cloth and kept it behind him, while wearing a serious expression.

"We have some things to talk about."

"My, my. It's not often that someone can come up to me unnoticed, and I was expecting you to come to talk to me, just not this early in the morning," said Nedzu as he put the laptop aside.

"Yes, well I have some things to take care of. One of them being a visit to Hatsume Mei," said Silence as he sat down in the chair in front of Nedzu's desk.

"I see. Now then, Mr. Silence. What is it that you wanted to ask?" the white creature asked.

Silence lets out a sigh through his nose and looks back to the principal "What are you planning with my family?"

Somehow, the seriousness of his tone managed to get carried over through the mechanical voice box.

"Oh? What gives you the idea that there's an ulterior motive here?" Nedzu asked curiously, although he knew that it wouldn't fool him.

Silence raised an eyebrow, clearly not believing him, "Seriously? It's you who we're talking about. You always have something going on in your head."

Nedzu nodded at his response, "Fair enough, I suppose."

The white chimera drank from his cup of tea that he had prepared beforehand, preparing himself mentally for what they were about to discuss.

"I wish both Mecha and Carrion to not solely rely on you anymore," Nedzu responded.

A serious silence formed in the room as the quiet survivor was giving the principal a death glare, though his expression was that of neutrality his eyes told another story.

"Nedzu, I think it would be wise for you to either explain further or change the phrasing of what you just said."

'So this is what they meant with the phrase 'if looks could kill'... interesting,' Nedzu thought, before giving a verbal answer, "Of course. What I meant is that both Mecha and Carrion tend to rely on you for guidance and support. Now, normally that's not a bad thing, but I want in this upcoming war, that they must do things on their own and only have you as a safety net nearby. I'm modifying the objective list for your group specifically so that each of them shall have specific missions that they have to fulfill."

A serious silence filled the room as Nedzu could see the person in front of him thinking hard about what he said.

"Alright," Silence finally said, "I can see what you mean that they rely on me, but I don't think they're ready to 'take the next step alone', if you will. Just last night, Mecha started to get reminded of what we went through back there. And we both know that's not a good thing, especially what she went through compared to myself."

Just as Silence finished that sentence, Nedzu noticed that he clenched his 'hand'.

"Nedzu, I know that you probably won't listen to me when I say that, but this can, and probably will, turn ugly for the rest of the participants if those two suffer from a panic attack or a relapse in memory. And unlike me, those two have... the ability to use their quirks to a disastrous level, and Carrion... let's just say he has killed before. That's how he managed to escape. How Mecha and I managed to calm him down and listen to us, I have no idea, but it was nothing short of a miracle," Silence explained.

Nedzu grabs his teacup and takes a sip out of it before continuing the conversation he has with the survivor, "I'm aware of the dangers that those two possess, Silence. But we have people like Aizawa and Ken to stop them if they go too far."

"I'm not sure how well you understand their quirks, Nedzu. Carrion's quirk technically falls under both mutant and transformation category, along with emitter for his abilities, so Cementoss is barely a maybe. But for Mecha's quirk, she used to have an emitter quirk before and during our imprisonment, but now it would fall under all three categories, just like Carrion, but I'm almost 100% sure that Erasurehead could not stop her," Silence explained, his mechanical voice carrying a serious tone.

Silence forms in the room once again, as the survivor has a serious look towards the Principal, before he lets out a sigh through his nose, almost in frustration, and stands up and walks towards the door to exit.

Just as he's about to reach the handle, he stops and turns to face the Principal once more, "Nedzu. If something goes wrong, I'll send a bullet in your direction. During the game. Real bullet or not. I will deliver one."

Silence opens the door and finally leaves the office, puts on the 'costume' again, and disappears.

After a couple of seconds later, Nedzu lets out a heavy sigh, "I wouldn't doubt it, Silence. I wouldn't doubt it."

-= Later that day, with Kendo and Mirio =-

"Thank you for meeting with me, sempai," Kendo said as she looked up at the tall blond.

"It's no problem. Nejire mentioned that you wanted to talk to us, or me in this case, for advice about the upcoming exercise, right?" Mirio said with his iconic smile.

"Well... that, and possibly any information of who we are up against," She responded.

"Ah, I see you found that loophole in the rulebook. Good job," by which Kendo nodded in appreciation, "However... the ones who you are going against also realized this and asked my group not to tell anything."

"Oh... Dammit. That will make things harder," Kendo commented.

"True, but that's how it'll work out there. However, after a bit of talking, their... leader I guess, has allowed me to give you just a very vague idea on who you are up against," Mirio followed up.

"Wait, what do you mean with 'allowed'?" Kendo asked in a confused tone.

"You see, just like what I did with your class and 1-A, I challenged them to a spar. Me and my friends vs them," Mirio started.

"Let me guess, you kicked their asses, just like you did to us?" Kendo guessed.

"Oh no. Each one of them could and have fought us three at the same time alone and won," He explained.

Kendo was shocked to hear that. When Mirio visited their class, he royally kicked all their collective asses, even Monoma when he managed to copy Mirio's quirk.

"What? How?" Kendo asked in shock.

"Let's just say, we underestimated them and that they went through... a lot. Anyway, what do you want to know about them? Just know, I'll have to be vague about the details," He explained.

"Alright. Ehm... how many students are there?" Kendo asked hesitantly.

"They are a small group," Mirio simply responded.

"Alright... I highly doubt that you can tell me what their quirks are, right?"

Mirio looks at the sky, thinking about how he could respond without giving too much info about them. Eventually, he came up with something, "While I can't tell you what they are specifically, what I can tell is that their leader's quirk is a very simple concept, like my own quirk, but the way he uses it is on a very deadly level. However, his friends' quirks are a lot more complicated and sadly have no way to give you a hint without giving it away. Sorry."

"No, no. It's fine. Every little bit will help us," Kendo responded as she wrote everything down in a notebook that she brought with her.

"Alright, any other questions about them?" Mirio asked.

"I... don't think so at the moment with the restrictions that you have over the information about them. But I do have a couple about the exercise itself," Kendo said.

"Alright, ask away," Mirio said with a small smile.

"What should we expect with this war?" Kendo asked.

"From what I've heard and experienced, it can vary a lot. Some events that I heard is that the villain team wouldn't cooperate with each other and was the reason they lost, while some of the others were brought to a standstill."

"So be vigilant and hope for the best?" she asked.

"Probably good advice, but since you are going against this special team... All I can say is, take this test seriously because they will act as if it was a true war. They have fought for their lives to get where they are, similar to 1-A, but... they've been through a lot worse. That's all I'll say about it," Mirio said in a serious tone.

Now Kendo started to get nervous, even with so little information about their opponent's team, the way Mirio is talking about them is very concerning. Especially since he is part of the Big Three and apparently, just one of these members can beat the three of them. Just how of a chance did their classes have against them?

-= With Silence, Midday =-

'Well... that's going to be taken care of. I swear, she just keeps on going and going talking about her inventions... I can't deny that her inventions are useful, especially that ridiculous costume she made for me. Hopefully, she can rework it without getting too upset, though,' were the thoughts of Silence, while he shakes his head, as he makes his way back towards the basement of U.A.

"Shush shush!" a young female voice called out.

Silence smiles under his mask as he turns around to face a small child with long light gray hair, bright ruby eyes, and small horn to one side on her forehead, and has a white dress shirt with a frilled collar and a plain red pinafore with two large, golden buttons on either side of her chest. Under this, she wears gray tights and a large set of tan boots, a small dark red messenger bag with the strap sitting over her right shoulder, and a little floral pattern decorating one of its sides.

"Hello, Eri," he said with a smile as he kneels down and spreads his arms open.

Within seconds, the small girl ran towards the tall, quiet, green-haired guy and tackled him into a tight hug.

"I missed you, Shush shush," said Eri as she buried her face into his chest from the hug.

He picked the small girl up and as she continued to hug her, until he looked up, "Hey sensei."

"Hey, Silence. How are you doing?" he asked in his usual tired voice, but had a ghost of a smile on him.

"A bit stressed because of Nedzu and Mei, but aside from that, alright," Silence asked.

"Oh? You had a talk with the menace? How did that turn out?"

"With me promising to deliver a...'paintball' from the field where we're going to do this exam, all the way to the observation room if something goes wrong," the silent fighter explained as he petted the small horned girl in his embrace.

"Yeah, some of us figured that you would've figured out that Nedzu had something planned for your family. Hound Dog and Snipe weren't happy either," Aizawa commented, "Now, shall we go somewhere more private so that you can spend time with Eri more peacefully?"

By which Silence only nodded, before standing up and letting go of Eri's hug.

On normal occasions, the parks that surrounds U.A. would have many students walking around, but given that their finals are coming soon, almost everyone is studying or preparing for the war. Now we can see Aizawa standing next to Silence while both Mecha and Carrion are talking and entertaining Eri.

Both Aizawa and Silence were standing some distance away from the rest so they could talk without worrying about the small horned girl.

"So, did you really say that if something traumatic were to happen to them, you would send a bullet to him from the fake city to the observation room?" Aizawa asked curiously.

"Whatever bullet they are going to give for the exercise at least, but yes," Silence responded.

The underground hero lets out an impressed whistle, "And without swearing?"

"I would've, believe me. But Mecha decided that she would censor my voice box again. Took a while to notice it this time, but I'll have to fix that later tonight," he explained. "So, how has it been taking care of Eri?"

"Not going to lie, it's a bit of a learning curve for the both of us. But at least we learned a lot of how to take care of a previously abused test subject, thanks to you three."

Both of them went quiet after that as they observed Mecha and Eri playing tag in the distance. However, Aizawa looked back at Silence and saw something in his eyes. In those hardened emerald eyes, he could see a myriad of emotions, both positive and negative.

"Silence, I have to ask. Are... you jealous of Eri?" Aizawa asked in a worried tone.

Silence closed his eyes and let out a heavy sigh, "Not... necessarily. While I'm happy that she wasn't experimented as long as we were, about two or three years was it? I'm not going to lie that we wished that the same would've happened to us. She still has the chance to recover back to normal though the trauma that she went through shall always be a small part of her, compared to ourselves..."

"Ah, I see..." Aizawa uncomfortably replied.

"Just... wishful thinking of the past. But I'm glad that we had the chance to save her. Still wish that I could put that damned bird down, but I think that making him quirkless is good enough," said Silence.

"You aren't the only one. Still, seeing Carrion in his transformed form is..."

"Disgusting? Terrifying? Nightmare-inducing?" Silence asked.

"Yes, that," Aizawa responded.

"How is the class doing so far?"

"Some of them are taking it more seriously than others, I believe that some of them are training at the gym right now, but others not so much," Aizawa explained.

"I wonder how serious they are going to take it after Kendo has talked with Mirio," Silence commented.

"Oh? She found that loophole? Good for her. But is he going to say anything about you guys?"

"After some talking, I've decided that he could give some very vague hints. Like that, we are a small group, but very powerful and not to underestimate us. Things like that."

"Oh really? Let's see how that's going to turn out for them," Aizawa said as a small smile crept on his face.

"Let's hope good for them. This will be a serious war for us, let's hope for them too," Silence said in a serious tone.

Silence lets out another small sigh and gives out a smile and starts to walk to where his family are, "Well, I think I'm going to spend some more time with the snowflake before she has to go with you again."

"You do that I'll be back in half an hour to pick her up. See you later," said Aizawa as he walked towards the Academy.

"Shush shush!" Eri called as she started to run towards Silence.

"Hey Snowflake, have these two been taking good care of you?" Silence asked in a mechanical, but playful tone.

"Of course! They are kind and brave, just like you!" she said cheerfully.

Silence didn't say anything, but a smile formed as he gave a hug to the young girl.

"Thank you Eri."

"NO! I won't let you take him away from me!"
