The Next Morning - Anna's POV

"So that's what happened on the mission then?" Kakashi asks me and I nod.

"I'm sorry Sensei." I say to him as I hang my head shamefully.

"It's alright Anna, you tried your best." Kakashi says to me as he ruffles my hair.

"But my best wasn't good enough." I say to him in a sulking mood.

"ANNA!" Tsunade yells coming in and I deadpan.

"Crap, I pissed her off yesterday, I forgot." I say and Kakashi chuckles amused.

I listen to her as she goes off at me for the last mission and Kakashi chuckles nervously.

"My self esteem is already pretty low right now Tsunade, you don't need to scold me when I'm already beating myself up about it." I say to her as I pull my legs up to my chest on my chair, clearly in a sulking mood.

I sense Naruto, Sakura and Sai get here after Tsunade leaves.

"Anna?" Sai asks confused.

"She's beating herself up for the last mission." Kakashi says to him.

"I knew this was gonna happen." Naruto says nervously.

Kakashi says that he can train Naruto and all that and I sulk even more.

"I'm going to go train." I say and I teleport myself to the Fox Canyon Training grounds.

I get up from my position and I start training for hours until Legacy bites one of my many injuries.

I just continue unfazed as I'm probably bleeding right now.

"Anna stop." Legacy says to me and look in her direction as I stop. "What has gotten into you? Your training like a maniac." Legacy says to me.

I sit down in a depressed state again. "I failed a mission because I wasn't good enough to bring Sasuke back, again." I mutter.

"Oh come now? Is that it?" Legacy asks as I sense her sit next to me.

"I just want Team 7 together again." I say to her quietly as I hug my knees closer to me. "Sakura and Naruto need him and I made Sakura a promise, and, I made Naruto a promise too, and Sensei, I made him a promise too. And I wasn't strong enough to bring him home, I just feel like I let them down. I could sense Sensei was upset, Sakura too. I want to do better, so they don't get sad again." I say to her as I bury my face my knees.

"I know you do, but relentless training like that is gonna get your even more hurt." Legacy says to me as she pushes her nose under my arm and I pet her head.

I sigh and get up. "If that's the case, then I'm gonna take a walk then. Oh, I ran into dear old granddaddy the other day, that was fun." I say and I sense Legacy freeze. "I didn't bother to stick around and listen to him though, I was already in a horrible mood." I say as I put my hands in my pockets and I just walk in one direction.

"Anna, wait." Legacy says to me and I sense conflicting feelings from her, worry, anger, sadness, another emotion I can't quiet decipher and hate.

I turn around and I wait. "What is it Legacy?" I ask her confused.

"Sit down, I have to tell you something." Legacy says to me as I sense her walk over.

Confusion is written on my face as I sit down and she sits in front of me.

"Anna, your mother, Kimi, married with your father against your Grandpa's consent, in result, your parents were exiled by the Ward Elders, your Grandpa was one of them and was against it and tried to stop it, but he couldn't due to getting sick, so sick that he had to stop being a Ward Ninja and retire to the elder table, your Mothers Sister is just plain rude, I know from experience, but she isn't all that bad, those two fought tooth and nail to keep your parents and you, in that village but the rest of the clan was against it, the Ward Clan are not nice Anna." Legacy says to me and I sigh and pet her head.

"I know Legacy, you've told me a million times before." I say to her in a warm tone.

"Its not just that, your mother, she told me to keep some secrets from you, hoping you wouldn't find out about the awful truth that comes with this long story, she didn't even want you to cross their gates, but now that you have, I have to tell you what happened." Legacy says to me and I frown.

"What story?" I ask confused.

"Just listen." Legacy says to me sadly.

Kimi's POV 17 years ago

"Kimi! Come on, you can't stay in there forever!"

"But Britney, an arranged marriage? No, I'm not leaving this room. I don't care what you think." I say to her in utter disbelief and anger.

"Come on, he's cute! I would go for him if I didn't have my boyfriend!" Britney yells through the door.

"Nope, not leaving." I say to her and she grumbles.

"Fine, I'm kicking down your door if you don't come out in the next 10 seconds." Britney says through the door, annoyed.

I grumble as I fix my hair and I head to the door. "Fine." I say to her annoyed and I open the door. "Your taste in men is awful you know." I say as I walk past her.

"HEY!" She yells offended and I smirk. "Your taste in clothes are awful, get changed into this." Britney says holding a pale purple dress in her hand and I flip her off.

"Sorry, but I like my clothes." I say to her and she grumbles annoyed.

I'm wearing a black long sleeve shirt with a black leather jacke, black short shorts and black open toed strappy sandals with one inch heels.

"Then at least do something with that unruly black mess that you call hair." Britney says to me annoyed.

I have black untamed hair that falls to my mid-back.

"No." I say to her and she grumbles as we get to the meeting room.

I walk in without knocking and I look at Father.

"Kimi, at least knock." Father says to me.

"Whatever." I say as I keep my hands in my coat pockets.

"Alright, Kimi, this is Karma." Father says to me as the guy next to him nods.

My eyes set on him. "No." I say to Father. "I don't like him, he doesn't look sexually pleasing." I say to Father.

"Karma, take your shirt off." Father says to him with a smirk.

"What? But sir." Karma says to Father.

"Just do it." Father says to him.

Karma grumbles and takes off his green sweater to show off a partially toned body.

I look at Father. "No." I say and Father sighs.

"Just spend time with him." Father says to me and I frown in annoyance.

"Fine." I say to Father reluctantly.

"Good, Karma, keep your shirt off." Father says to him and I roll my eyes and head out the door.

"Hey!" Britney yells as I pass her. and Whatever." I say and I head to the backyard where I sit next to the pond watching the fish.

"Kimi, you need to get to know him, do you think he's gonna be bad?" Britney asks me as she sits next to me and I snort.

"All men are control freaks who want nothing more than sex, food and sleep." I say to her annoyed and she sighs and pushes my head slightly.

"Idiot. Not all men are like that." Britney says to me and I tch and I skip a stone across the pond scaring the fish as it jumps above them.

"All the ones I've met are like that." I say to her and she sighs.

"Just give him a chance, it is an arranged marriage." Britney says to me and I roll my eyes.

"Whatever, I'm heading to Fox Canyon for a bit to hang around Legacy." I say as I get up.

"Nope, you coming with me, Karma, his friend, and Andy." Britney says getting up and I roll my eyes, but I follow her anyways.

"Hey Karma, is this the girl?" A guy with shaggy black hair and violet eyes with, might I say, a very nice voice, asks Karma.

"Yeah, she's a little bit of a tough one. But nothing I can't handle." Karma says to him with a smirk.

I tch and roll my eyes. "Britney, do I seriously have to be here?" I ask her in a flat annoyed tone.

"Yes Kimi, you do." Britney says to me with a smirk and I just snort in annoyance.

"Whatever." I say as I walk next to her with my arms crossed.

"You can't treat her like an object dude." The guy says to Karma.

Hmm? Is this someone sensible?

"I know that, but she's rude and insensitive." Karma says to him.

"Well fuck you too Karma, I think I'm gonna go and uh, spend time training with my summons, because, unlike people, animals like me, so, sayonara bitches." I say and I teleport myself to Fox Canyon.

"Kimi!" Legacy yells tackling me and I laugh.

"Hey Legacy." I say as I pet her head with a grin.

"Ok, you seem annoyed." Legacy says rolling off me and onto her stomach and I sit up.

"An arranged marriage between me and some dude who can't treat a lady like the lady she is, I personally couldn't care less about him." I say to her and she nods.

"Well, come see the new kits." Legacy says to me as she gets up with almost a grinning look on her fox face.

"Alright." I say to her with a smile and I follow her to the fox dens and I see kits tumbling about.

"Kits, look who's here." Legacy says to them as she noses them in place.

"KIMI!" They bark as they tumble over each other trying to get to me.

I smile amused as I bend down in front of them and I see a very small one with moon colored fur and mint green eyes. "And who are you?" I ask curious as I pick her up.

"She's small and fragile, we don't think she'll make it." Legacy says to me worried and I smile.

"Nonsense, alright, how about a name? Hmm, I think Mint would suit her. Now, let's see, what's wrong?" I ask her.

She sniffs and I smile amused and I hold my pinky in front of her mouth and she latches onto it sucking.

"Hungry, I see." I say and I get up. "I'll be back later Legacy, I'm gonna get this little one something to eat." I say and Legacy nods.

"Thanks Kimi." Legacy says to me and I nod and I teleport back to the house and I head to the kitchen where I look through the cupboard and I find a small bottle that I leave in the cupboards for the weak kits.

I keep holding the kit as I take the top off and I pour some milk in it and I heat it up just warm enough.

"Kimi, what are you doing here and not with your sister?" Father asks me.

"I don't like Karma, so I headed to Fox Canyon and Legacy showed me the new kits and this little one is too weak, so, I'm helping her have a chance." I say to him as I put the top on the bottle.

"Oh really now?" Father asks raising an eyebrow.

"Its a true story, besides, take a look." I say as I show him Mint. "She's so tiny, she's also weak and hungry, her mother isn't able to produce enough milk for the entire litter." I say and Father looks at Mint and sees what I see and I frown look at her. "Maybe a syringe might be better." I say as I look at the kit.

"The bottle should be fine." Father says to me and I nod.

I help the kit drink the warm milk and she drinks, very hungry and I smile warmly as I watch her drink.

"Father! Is Kimi back yet?" Britney yells at the door.

"Yes, she's in the kitchen." Father says loud enough for her to hear.

"What the devil is she doing in there?" Britney asks confused and walks in to see me nursing Mint with the bottle. "Of course, summons take priority to her." Britney says annoyed while rolling her eyes.

"She needed a chance to survive and I'm giving her a chance." I say to Britney with a roll of my eyes at how annoying she can be.

I see Andy, Karma and the other dude behind her and I snort in annoyance and I head to the backyard where I sit on the porch and I finish nursing her and she falls asleep and I smile amused.

"There, full now, that's a good girl." I say as I check her over for bugs and I find nothing that I can see but I'll bathe her anyways after she's finished napping.

"A soft spot for animals?" The dude from earlier asks behind me.

"They're the only beings who treat me like a person." I say and he nods.

"My name is Ace, you must be Kimi, Britney's younger sister." He says to me with a smile.

I nod as I watch Mint.

"What's the kits name?" Ace asks as he looks at her.

"Interested in a kit?" I ask surprised.

"Sure, it looks adorable, I like adorable things." Ace says to me with a smile.

My heart flutters and I look back at Mint. "Her name is Mint." I say to him and he nods.

"I've talked to Karma in ways on how to treat a girl, but I'm not sure he listened, but you should give him a chance, he's a good guy." Ace says to me and I roll my eyes.

"No." I say as I get up. "I want a guy who isn't afraid of my father, who can stand up to him, he can't stand up to him." I say as I head to the door and I head inside and to my room.

I shut the door behind me and I set the kit on one of my pillows and I take my jacket and sandals off. I climb onto my bed and I read for a while before I fall asleep, holding the kit close to me.

Ace's POV

"Dude, I think she's holding something against you." I say to Karma.

He looks at me confused. "Like what?" Karma asks me.

"She said she wants a guy who will stand up to her father, so in other words, your not a man to her." I say to Karma who frowns.

"Where did she go?" Karma asks me.

"If you want her, she's probably in her room." Britney says with a shrug as Andy brushes through her hair.

"Where is her room?" Karma asks her.

"Down the hall, second door on the left, though I wouldn't enter without consent, she has a temper." Britney says to him with a shrug.

He heads down and I sigh and follow him to her room and he just opens the door and we look in to see she's asleep.

She's adorable herself, she's cute just normally when she's awake, especially when she smiles, but I don't think Karma sees her that way, I think he's annoyed at her now.

"Hey!" Karma says to her annoyed as he kicks her bed and the kit wakes up and cries, annoying Karma further.

We watch Kimi wake up, and she's pissed.

I stay on the outside of her door, out of her room and around the corner where she can't see me.

"WHAT THE FUCK KARMA?" She yells pissed.

I listen as she kicks the crap out of him and throws him into the hallway and she sees me, sweat dropping.

"Did you have a part in this too?" Kimi asks me pissed.

I look her in the eyes and I pat her head with a smile. "Nothing, I was gonna stop him if he got out of hand, but you seemed to have taken care of it." I say to her and she heads back into her room to calm the kit down.

"Pathetic, he didn't even put up a fight, and Father thinks he's a good match? Yeah right." She says annoyed and I lean against the wall as she rants.

"He's always been a coward, he's hid behind me in every fight. No matter how tough he appears, he's a coward." I say to her.

"Then you fight me." Kimi says to me as she appears at her door.

"Is it a wish? Because if it is, I'll be glad to grant it for the M'lady." I say to her with a smile.

She looks flustered for a moment before she recovers. "I guess it is." She says to me and I smile at her as she holds the kit.

"Then the wish is granted." I say and we head to the back yard and Kimi sets the
