The Forbidden West Wing

They have been working for 30 minutes now and are now walking in a hallway with armor. Fluttershy was looking around as she was fascinated by how big the palace is. She had read stories about castles being bigger but this place tops her list.

When they passed by a staircase leading to an unknown wing, Fluttershy felt an urge of curiosity to go up there but was stopped by Applejack, Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie which only made her curiosity intensify.

"What's up there?" Fluttershy asked them curiously.

"Oh, nothing. Nothing interesting up in the West Wing whatsoever." Pinkie Pie said sheepishly as Fluttershy's ears perked up.

"Oh, so that's that West Wing." Fluttershy said as Pinkie Pie gulped.

"Nice going, sugarcube." Applejack gave her a disapproving look as she just laughed nervously.

"I wonder what he's hiding up there." Fluttershy wondered curiously as she tried to get a peek but couldn't see much.

"H-Hidin'? The king isn't hiding nothin'!" Applejack said nervously.

"Then it wouldn't be forbidden." Fluttershy said as she took a step but the trio quickly stopped her instantly.

"Um, perhaps you would like to see somethin' else? Like that tapestry?" Applejack suggested.

"Maybe you would like to see the rose garden? Or the library-?" Pinkie Pie suggested and the second she heard the L word, her ears immediately perked up.

"Do you have a library?" Fluttershy asked excitedly.

"Eeyup, sugercube!" Applejack said as they started to lead her away.

"With books!" Pinkie Pie added.

"Tons and tons of books!" Rainbow Dash joined in.

"Mountains of books!"

As the trio continue to ramble on about how many books there are, Fluttershy just can't shake the feeling as she glanced at the West Wing curiously. Once making sure the three were out of sight, she decided to take a first look at the area as she climbed the stairs.

Once she made it up the stairs, fear and nervousness set in as she saw the hall filled with creepy looking gargoyles, destroyed or ripped pictures, even a broken mirror which she looked at in slight nervousness.

At the end of the hall was a set of doors. Fluttershy slowly reached for them but stopped with hesitation. She looked behind her as if considering what she was about to do but her curiosity of why the West Wing was forbidden made her want to make sure if she wasn't followed.

She then carefully and quietly opened the door to the room to reveal everything was a mess and in ruins with some furniture almost destroyed while some in good shape while tapestries and curtains all shredded.

She cautiously entered the room in surprise and caution as she ducked beneath some ripped curtains and stepped over broken pieces of glass only to bump on a table but she quickly used her magic to levitate it before it could fall. She set it down quietly before continuing as she stood before what appeared to be a broken and beat up bed.

She wondered what could have happened before something caught her eyes. She looked over to see a portrait of a stallion but it was in ruin with three gashes to it. She took a few steps closer to it to get a better look. The stallion in the picture was a lighter shade of steel gray with the mane and tail a bluish gray with a blue stripe to it and a pair of emerald green eyes. She used her magic to lift the fabric to get a closer look before a glow caught her attention.

She turned to see a red rose glowing by a table with a mirror. She went to the table to see that the rose was inside a glass cover as if protecting it. She walked closer to it as her curiosity was getting the best of her. She brushed some strands of her mane out of her face before touching the glass gingerly. She removed the glass with her magic and set it carefully on the floor while not taking her eyes off the rose.

Just as she was about to touch it, a shadow loomed in front of her which made her gasp and recoil in fear and nervousness.

Sombra stood by the balcony in front of her with his teeth bared. The darkness of the night made her a bit more menacing but the faint light of the moon shined against his red eyes as it held rage in them. He leaps forward and quickly puts the glass back over the rose before facing the now scared and nervous unicorn mare as he stands by the table protectively.

"Why did you come here?" He asked her but his tone was barely restraining his anger.

"I-I'm sorry. I didn't... I didn't mean-" Fluttershy tried to apologize nervously.

"I've warned you already not to come here!" He started to raise his voice as he advanced towards the scared mare.

"I-I didn't mean a-any harm! I swear!" Fluttershy pleaded as she went behind a table hoping that it would separate them.

"Don't you realize what you could have done?!" Sombra yelled in anger as he grabbed the table before tossing it across the room.

"Please, s-stop!" Fluttershy whimpered in fear as her back was against a dresser as Sombra stepped threatening towards her.

"Get out!" Sombra yelled and Fluttershy didn't need to be told twice.

She quickly ran as Sombra threw pieces of furniture out of the way.

"GET OUT!!!" He roared as she threw the doors open.

She ran out the room and down the stairs while grabbing her cloak towards the front door.

The trio saw her running and were concerned.

"Where are you going?!" Rainbow Dash asked in worry.

"Promise or no promise, I can't stay here another minute!" Fluttershy said as she opened the door to see a snowstorm raging outside.

"No, wait! Please, wait! Please!" Pinkie Pie pleaded but Fluttershy just closed the door without saying another word.

She quickly galloped across the bridge and out of the gate.

She quickly went into Everfree Forest to find the way back only to realize that she lost the trail back to Ponyville. She ducked her head to avoid low hanging branches covered with snow. Several bats came flying out which startled her before hearing growls and turned to see red piercing eyes staring at her hungrily as she gasped in fear.

She knows what they are and she's in deep trouble. Timberwolves.
