Once upon a time, in a far away empire known as the Crystal Empire lived a young stallion prince. He lived in a lovely castle made out of crystal and had everything his heart ever desired but the prince was selfish and unkind to others.

But one day, on a cold Hearth's Warming Eve, an old beggar came to the castle and asked for some shelter from the bitter cold. She offered him a single rose in return for shelter but the stallion prince just sneered at the gift and turned the beggar away. Yet she warned him not to be deceived by appearances and that beauty is found within.

But when he dismissed her once again, the old beggar's ugliness withered away to reveal a beautiful alicorn enchantress.

The prince tried to apologize but it was too late because she had seen that there was no love in his heart.

And as punishment, she cast a curse and transformed him into a vicious creature of the shadows and placed a powerful curse on the castle and all who lived there.

Ashamed with his monstrous form, The Beast concealed himself in his castle of darkness. With a magic mirror as his only window to the outside world.

The rose she had given him was actually an enchanted rose that would bloom until a thousand years is up.

There was however a way to break the curse.

If The Beast could learn to be kind and learn to love and earn their love in return before the last petal falls, then the spell would be broken.

But if not, then he will be doomed to remain a shadowed beast for all time...

As many winters have passed, he fell into despair, darkness and lost all hope of ever breaking the curse...

For who could ever learn to love... A Beast...?
