It was a warm and beautiful sunny day in Ponyville, the sun was shining on a humble and simple house in an orchard as a rooster let out a crow to awaken the inhabitants of the small home.

The door knob turned as a figure came out with saddlebags as she closed the door behind her.

The figure was a unicorn mare with a light daisy yellow coat, pink colored mane and tail with aqua blue-green eyes with three butterflies on her flank. This was Fluttershy. She walked down the path of her cottage as the warmth of the sun met her as birds flew near her to greet her with a hello before flying off as she smiled softly.

She sighed in content as she walked down the path to town as she started to sing.

Just as she entered town, everyone all started coming out and getting ready for the daily activities as Fluttershy was greeted by some as she greeted back.

Ponies: Good morning!

She smiled at the lively citizens of the town as she continued to walk around.

Fluttershy: There goes Mr. Carrot Cake with his tray like always
The same good sweets and cakes and cupcakes to sell
Every morning is just the same
Since the morning we came
To this lovely provincial town

"Good morning, Fluttershy." Mr. Carrot Cake greeted her as he set down his delivery saddlebag.

"Oh, good morning, Mr. Carrot Cake." Fluttershy greeted back as she came up to him.

"Where are you off to?" He asked curiously.

"The Golden Oak Library. I just finished the most wonderful story. About a beanstalk and an ogre and an-" Fluttershy said but didn't get to finish since Mr. Cake had some customers calling to him.

"Mr. Carrot Cake! We need some cupcakes for my son's birthday!"

"That's very nice, Fluttershy. Coming!" Mr. Carrot Cake said before he went to the customer.

Fluttershy just shrugged and went off her way to the library but was hearing ponies talking and whispering about her but she just ignored them.

Ponies: Look there she goes
That mare is strange no question
Dazed and distracted, can't you tell?
Never part of any crowd
'Cause her head's up on some cloud
No denying she's a strange mare
That Fluttershy

Fluttershy then hitched a ride on a wagon while everyone continued their daily activities.

Stallion 1: Good morning

Mare 1: Good day

Stallion 1: How is your family?

Mare 2: Good morning

Stallion 2: Good day

Mare 2: How is your wife?

Mare 3: I need six apples!

Mare 3: That's too expensive

Fluttershy: There must be more than
This provincial life

Fluttershy quickly got off the wagon and went to the library and knocked on it before a muffled voice told her to come in. She entered as a bell above chimed as an owl hooted.

A young purple alicorn pony with a navy blue mane and a pink streak around her age with moderate purple eyes with stars on her flank came out with books levitating with her magic. This was Twilight Sparkle.

She beamed widely when she saw her friend.

"Good morning, Fluttershy!" Twilight Sparkle greeted happily as she levitated the books back to their rightful place.

A young dragon came out as he was helping Twilight with the books and he smiled when he saw Fluttershy.

"Hey, Fluttershy!" He greeted but yelped when he dropped the book but Twilight was quick to pick it up with her magic.

"Good morning, Twilight and Spike. I've come to return the book that I borrowed." Fluttershy said as she took out the book from her saddlebag using her magic.

"Wow, finished already?" Spike asked curiously as he took the book from her.

"Oh, I couldn't simply put it down." Fluttershy giggled and went up to the shelves to see if she could find any new books.

"Is there anything new?" She asked curiously as she scanned the shelves for any new books.

"Not since yesterday, Fluttershy." Twilight giggled.

"That's quite alright. I'll borrow..." Fluttershy said before smiling brightly when she spotted her favorite and pulled it out.

"This one!" She said excitedly as she flew down and Twilight levitated it in front of her and was surprised.

"This one? But you've read it like 3 times already!" Spike laughed in surprise and.

"Oh, well, it's just that it's my favorite! Far off places, daring magic duels, magic spells, a prince in disguise!" Fluttershy said as she started to walk to the door.

"Well, if you like it that much, it's yours." Twilight said as she put the book inside Fluttershy's saddlebag as she looked at her in surprise.

"But, Twilight-" Fluttershy tried to deny but Twilight shook her head with a smile.

"I insist. Plus I might meet you later at your house for a sleepover later." Twilight said with a smile.

"Thank you, Twilight. Thank you very much!" Fluttershy smiled as she took out the book and levitated it in front of her and started to read.

Ponies: Look there she goes
That mare is so peculiar
I wonder if she's feeling well
With a dreamy far-off look
With her muzzle stuck in a book
What a puzzle
Is the rest of us is Fluttershy

Fluttershy then stopped by the fountain and sat down as some of the local sheep came up to her as she showed them the book.

Fluttershy: Oh, isn't this just amazing?
It's my favorite part because, you'll see
Here's where she meets prince charming
But she won't discover that it's him
Till chapter three

Fluttershy read the book eagerly as the sheep were herded away by their shepherd.

Fluttershy passed by a store selling gowns and other fancy clothes.

Mare 4: Now it's no wonder she's a unique mare
Her looks have no parallel

Seamstress: But behind that fair facade
I'm afraid she's rather odd
Very different from the rest of us

Ponies: She's nothing like the rest of us
Yes, she's different from the rest of us is Fluttershy

Looking down on Ponyville is Blueblood, a dashingly handsome noble. The only thing bigger than his figure is his ego. Standing beside him is Blueblood's devoted best friend Snips. Through his spyglass, Blueblood spots Fluttershy.

"Look at her, Snips. My future wife." Blueblood said as both he and Snips came down to town.

"Fluttershy is the most beautiful mare in the village. That makes her the best." Blueblood said as some mares of Ponyville shyly and giddily greeted Blueblood.

"But she's so well-read, and you're so... Nobly inclined." Snips said as he caught himself from saying 'not'.

"I know. Fluttershy can be as argumentative as she is beautiful." Blueblood said.

"Exactly, who needs her, when you've got us!" Snips said as he tried to get him to see his point.

"Yes, but ever since I came here, I've been missing something. And she's the only mare I've met who gives me that sense of..." Blueblood said but couldn't find the right words.

"Je ne sais quoi?" Snips asked but Blueblood gave him a strange look.

"I don't know what that means." Blueblood said.

Blueblood started singing as some mares giggled giddily towards him as he was fixing and admiring himself in a mirror.

Blueblood: Right from the moment I met her, saw her
I said 'she's gorgeous' and I fell

Snips tried to get his attention when Fluttershy walked past them and not batting them an eye.

Blueblood: Here in town, there's only she
Who is as beautiful as me
So I'm making plans to woo and marry Fluttershy

Blueblood looked to where he last saw Fluttershy only to see she was gone. He looked around for her and saw that she was walking straight to the market. He then made his way there to talk to her unaware that three mares were watching and looking at him with a love struck look.

Minuette, Lyra Heartstrings, and Twinkleshine: Look there he goes
Isn't he just dreamy?
Count Blueblood
Oh, he's so cute
Be still my heart
I'm hardly breathing
He's such a tall, dark, strong and handsome brute

Blueblood saw Fluttershy just ahead of him and tried to catch up to her but she effortlessly got through the crowd who kept blocking Blueblood's path as they were bustling with activity.

Stallion 1: Good morning

Blueblood: Pardon

Stallion 2: Good day

Stallion 3: Mais oui!

Mafron: You call this cabbage?

Mare 1: What lovely grapes!

Stallion 4: Some cheese

Mare 2: Ten yards!

Stallion 4: One pound!

Blueblood: 'Scuse me!

Stallion 4: I'll get the knife!

Blueblood: Please let me through

Mare 1: This bread-

Stallion 5: Those apples-

Mare 1: It's stale!

Stallion 5: They smell!

Stallion 6: Madame's mistake?

Fluttershy sang as she put the book down.

Fluttershy: There must be more than this provincial life!

Blueblood then sang.

Blueblood: Just watch, I'm going to make Fluttershy mine!

Then everypony blocked Blueblood's path and knowing that he couldn't get through, he decided to teleport to her.

Ponies: Look there she goes, a mare but special
A most peculiar mademoiselle
It's a pity and a sin
She doesn't quite fit in
'Cause she really is a strange mare
A beauty and a strange mare
She really is a strange mare
That Fluttershy!

Fluttershy then looked up and looked behind her to see that everypony was just doing their daily activities. She could have sworn that she heard something. She shrugged and continued to read and walk home to fix up the house for her and Twilight 's sleepover before somepony teleported in front of her. She doesn't need to look up to see who is as she walks around him.

"Hello, Fluttershy." Blueblood greeted the unicorn.

"Hello, Count Blueblood." Fluttershy greeted back but she just ignored him while reading her book.

She even wondered why Blueblood even bothered talking to her anyway and why can't he just leave her alone. The book she was reading was snatched away but Blueblood and Fluttershy rolled her eyes and turned to him.

"Count Blueblood, can I have my book back please?" Fluttershy asked him politely but Blueblood didn't listen as he flipped through the pages to make sense of what it's saying.

"How can you read this? There's no pictures." Blueblood complained as Fluttershy gave him a pointed look.

"Well, some ponies use their imaginations." Fluttershy said matter-of-factly.

Blueblood turned around and Fluttershy was about to take the book back but the white stallion just dropped the book on some mud puddle and Fluttershy gave him an annoyed look.

"Fluttershy, dear, it's about time for you to get your head out of the clouds and focus on more important things. Like me." Blueblood said as he gave her a charming smile which made the three mares earlier sigh dreamily.

Fluttershy just paid him no mind and levitated the book from the puddle and took out a cloth to clean it just as Twilight and Spike arrived with their bags and saw what was happening. Before Blueblood could speak, Twilight instantly teleported herself between her friend and Blueblood as she glared at her ex-fiance with Spike looking annoyed.

"First of all, Count Blueblood. Books are much more interesting and have more common sense than a stallion like yourself and second of all, she's not interested." Twilight huffed and ushered Fluttershy to the cottage who smiled thankfully.

"Thank you, Twilight." Fluttershy smiled as she smiled back.

"No problem." Twilight smiled back.

Just then they heard a loud boom from the Sweet Apple Acres. They instantly took in the direction of the orchard to see smoke coming from the barn. They opened the doors to the barn and started coughing when smoke started to come out. Twilight quickly used her wings to fan the smoke out as they headed inside.

"Big Macintosh, are you here?" Fluttershy called out as she fanned her hoof in front of her eyes.

"I'm over here, Fluttershy!" The red stallion called out.

Both Twilight and Fluttershy with Spike went to where he is and saw that he was in a haystack. They both pulled him out as Fluttershy cleaned off the soot from his face.

"What happened, Big Mac?" Twilight asked in concern.

"I was just tinkering on the apple cider squeezer when a spark blew. I'm not sure if it would work anymore." Big Mac said as Spike looked at it curiously.

"How about we test it?" He suggested.

"Well, okay but stand back, girls. I don't want you three to get hurt." Big Mac advised as both Twilight and Fluttershy stepped back.

Big Mac then pulled the lever down and stood beside them as they watched it come to life as steam came out the muzzle. The machine started to turn and juice started to come out of the faucet and into the jars awaiting. Big Mac smiled widely as he took a mug and got some cider and was glad that it worked.

"It worked!" Twilight cheered as she got herself, Fluttershy and Spike some apple cider.

"Thank goodness that it does." He said as he looked proudly at his masterpiece.

Spike looked at the clock to check the time.

"You should get going, Big Mac. It's almost time for you to go to Canterlot." Spike said as he nodded.

"You're right. I'll pack my bags and be off." Big Mac quickly went to the house to gather some stuff on the journey as Twilight and Fluttershy loaded the machine in a wagon.

Winona came along as she hopped in the cart as Big Mac came out.

"Are you sure you'll be fine while I'm gone?" Big Mac asked them.

"We'll be fine, Big Mac. Twilight and Spike will keep me company while you're gone. Just worry about getting first place on your masterpiece." Fluttershy reassured him as he smiled.

"Alright. Take care now." He said as he put the straps of the wagon on and started to pull it away.

The two mares waved to him.

"Goodbye, Big Mac, and good luck!" Fluttershy shouted.

"Goodbye, Fluttershy! You, Twilight and Spike take care while I'm gone!" He replied as he went off.

Fluttershy, Twilight and Spike watch him leave before heading inside. They set up their sleeping bags and had fun for the rest of the day.
