Shredder's Daughter Dissapears
Catherine POV
"Where am I? Who am, who are you? I asked sitting up in my hospital bed.
"You are in the hospital sweetheart. Your father and I were so worried about you. You were kidnapped by the Shredder the leader of a criminal group known as the foot clan."
I looked at the bandanna on the nightstand bearing the foot clan insignia. A vague memory of training to receive her dragon dojo stirred in my mind. "Was I a member of this clan?"
"No, sweetheart you were kidnapped in an attempt to black mail me into stopping my investigation of the foot clan's criminal activities. The Shredder is a very dangerous criminal, you were lucky you survived his attack" her father replied.
I was completely confused, "this can not be.... Your lying, the Shredder would never hurt me on purpose. He's my father and he loves me!" I said with a frown.
Crystal POV
I sighed this was going to be harder then I had thought. "The Shredder doesn't know how to love. He kidnapped you, brain washed you into believing that no one loved you out side the foot clan. That your families outside the clan didn't care about you or what happens to you."
"That he is your true father and that he desired you to become a full member of the foot clan, and as your father he would be extremely proud of you. That being a full foot clan member is extremely honorable. "
"The truth is, the Shredder has no honor and he is extremely dangerous. You must forget everything he told you because it was a lie! Your father and I love you very much and were so worried about you. We are so thankful that you are safe at last."
"I'm so confused... How do I know you?"
I fought back tears as I replied "I'm your mother sweetheart."
Shredder POV
"You disappoint me Tatsu. I expected you to have found that traitor and my daughter by now. However, you have accomplished nothing! You continue to give me excuses when I want results!"
"Master, my men and I are doing everything we possibly can to find them. I assure you, we are using everything at our disposal in our search to to find them. If the traitor, I mean, your wife and daughter are in the city we will find them." Tatsu replies.
"I do not share your optimistic appraisal of this situation. Then perhaps what you are lacking is proper motivation. I have been far to lenient with you. I will give you one more chance to locate them and if they are not in my throne room within the allotted time I shall have a new mutant for my army. I'm sure there is no need to explain who that mutant will be?"
"I shall have everyone double, no triple their efforts to find your family." With that he quickly retreated from the throne room. He certainly didn't want me to turn him into some strange creature as I had Anton Zeck and Ivan Steranko aka Bebop and Rocksteady.
Tatsu POV
"What does the Master wish of us?" Bebop and Rocksteady asked when they spotted me.
"The Master is extremely displeased with the lack of progress concerning the fact that we haven't located his family. We have 24hrs in which to find the traitor and the Master's daughter or heads will roll."
"But Tatsu, you know that's impossible. If he wants them found them we need more resources and more time."
"Would you like to inform the Master of your concerns?"
"No."! Bebop replied with a slight tremble in his voice. "It's just that the odds are. Well they are... I mean, look how many people live in this city. It has to be over... Um... Over a...."
"Don't strain yourself. I am well aware of the odds. Besides, I have a pretty good idea where they might be hiding." I said with a slight smile. The truth was that I had found Crystal and Catherine several years ago but had chosen to let them live in peace. It was time to play my hand at last.
"Walk up to me like you have important information to tell me." I ordered Bebop.
"Why what will that accomplish?" Bebop asked confused.
"Just do it!" I hissed.
"Ok, don't bite my head off. So what is is I'm suppose to be telling you?"
"The location of the Master's family." I replied with a smile.
"But Tatsu, I'm confused...." Bebop said scratching his head.
"I already know where the Master's family are located. I just need to make it seem like the information is new so that I can inform the Master."
"Wait, you've known where the Master's family is this whole time? Now I'm really confused.
What are you up too?" Bebop replied cautiously and still completely confused.
"Oh never mind!" I replied impatiently. With that I turned and rushed back into the Shredder's throne room. "Master, I'm sorry to disturb you I thought you would like to know that I have just been informed that one of the clan members have spotted your wife and daughter."
"That woman gave up the benefits of that tile the moment she betrayed me. Well, what are you standing here for? Go fetch them."
I smiled at this report. At long last, the Shredder's hand of protection no longer applied to Crystal. However, my smile turned to a frown at the Shredder's next words.
"Remember, Tatsu, that I want Crystal brought to me alive. You are not to harm her in any way shape or form. If I find that even a hair on her head is harmed, I will hold you personally responsible. The same goes for my daughter, Do I make myself clear?"
"Yes Master!" I replied with a slight frown. I had hoped to be allowed to punish Crystal myself. However, it seemed that the Master had other plans. I sighed, why must this, this traitor continue to receive special treatment after what she had done? It didn't make sense. Yet, I knew better then to question the Master when it came to matters like this.
It didn't take the foot clan and I long to find Crystal at her new location. Especially since I had known their location the entire time.
I smiled when Crystal I spotted me out of the corner of my her eye. She knew why we were there.
"I should have known the Shredder would never let us go. You finally have your revenge Tatsu, you have beaten me."
"You knew this day was coming. You betrayed the Master by kidnapping his daughter and marrying a cop. The Master ordered me to bring you back home to stand trial. Where is little Catherine?"
"You'll never find her."
"All your efforts to hide Catherine are in vain. We will find her and you will stand trial for your treachery. I am going to enjoy seeing your daughter watch you beg for mercy. Once she is beside the Master once more she will be informed of the truth."
"I have a strong feeling the Master will allow little Catherine to decide your punishment. What better revenge then to have your own daughter condemning you to death." Tatsu said with a slight chuckle.
"No." I smirked as tears formed in her eyes knowing that this unfortunately did sound like something the Shredder would actually do.
It didn't take The foot clan members long to search the entire house. "Master Tatsu we've searched everywhere, Catherine is nowhere to be found."
"Fools! She couldn't have disappeared into thin air! Find her!"
"But sir, we have searched this entire house from top to bottom."
I turned to the foot soldier and frowned. "Fine, You can explain why you failed to bring his daughter back safe and sound. Or would you rather keep looking?"
"We shall double our efforts! We will find her!" The foot soldier replied giving me a solute and bow before he ran off to continue searching for Catherine. However, no matter where they looked they could not find any trace of her.
"So much for your revenge, no matter what you do or where you search you will never find her." Crystal said with triumph.
"Change of plans, we will bring you to the Shredder now, You won't be smirking when he gets through with you! You know what he does to those who betray him. You will tell him where Catherine is or you'll suffer his wrath."
"Well, you'll suffer his wrath either way, but I'm sure he will be furious to know that you've hidden his daughter and refuse to tell us where she is located. However, as usual we are already one step ahead of you. Catherine will be brought to us. Your beloved police officer will be the one to do it."
"That'll never happen! Arthur loves Catherine like she's his own!" Crystal said with a growl.
I chuckle triumphantly. "Keep telling yourself that. He'll give in to our demands just wait and see." I replied with an evil smirk.
"Just what do you plan on demanding?"
" I will give him a choice, I won't demand a money ransom, no, instead I'll insist on an even exchange. I will return you safely to him if he gives us your daughter. I'm pretty sure who he will choose." I replied with a slight chuckle.
"He will never negotiate with you, it's against everything he stands for."
"We shall see."
Arthur POV
It had been a long day and all I wanted to do was relax. However, when I opened the door to the house I froze. The house was in shambles and neither Crystal or Catherine were nowhere to be found.
As I searched the house frantically for some clue I spotted a letter addressed to me with the symbol of the dragon and foot clan on it. As I opened it I froze, what I read turned my completion three shades of blue.
It read, "my name is Tatsu, I represent the Shredder and on his behalf I am willing to make a deal with you. We have your wife, if you ever want to see her alive again bring us the Shredder's daughter or you'll never see your wife again."
I pondered the situation, the kidnappers wanted Catherine in exchange for Crystal. I knew this was something that could never happen. My Cheif would never allow it and Crystal would never forgive me. Yet, perhaps it was best to heed the kidnappers requests.
I knew that Catherine had been home with Crystal all day so where was she? "Catherine?" I called but received no reply. "Catherine where are you?" As I searched each room I called her name getting more and more agitated the longer I searched. "Catherine answer me!" I growled as I searched the last room of the apartment.
Catherine POV
I sat in the hidden chamber of the closet and prayed silently that my mother would be alright as I studied them strange bandana. I knew it was wrong to remove evidence from a crime scene but this bandana seemed vaguely familiar.
Snapping back into reality I realized that someone was calling my name. Although it sounded like my father I didn't want to take any chances. I had promised my mom that I would stay in the panic room and not make a sound.
Suddenly, the door to the closet opened and I could see my father searching the closet. He looked really upset and so I stayed put. Then I saw my father hit a small button which opened the panic room door.
I started to tremble as the chamber door opened and my Father stood before her. I could tell by the look on his face that he was very angry with me. So I looked down at the floor not wanting to look him in the eyes.
"Do you realize how worried I was about you? Why didn't you answer when I called your name?" My father screamed grabbing me pulling me out of the closet. I didn't respond instead I continued to look at the floor.
"Catherine look at me when I'm talking to you!" When I didn't do as I was told he growled. "I said look at me when I'm talking to you young lady." He said forcing me to look him in the eyes.
I looked up at my father with apologetic eyes. The last things I wanted to do was make him angry. He was never very nice when he was angry. "I'm sorry father, please forgive me." I replied barely above a whisper.
"I hate to be a bother Arthur, but you should be more gentle look, their is a mark on her arm from when you grabbed her. You shouldn't be so rough. Besides protocol says we shouldn't question her till her till the Chief gets here." Maurice said concerned for me.
Arthur shook his head. "I am her legal guardian, it's my job to see that she answers the questions asked of her. Believe me, she will tell me everything I want to know. Even if I have to use some non traditional methods." He replied pulling out a small needle and a bottle of clear liquid out of his bag.
I had started backing away when I had heard my father talk about how I would answer his questions wether I wanted to or not.
"What is that?" His partner Maurice asked concerned.
"Nothing that you need concern yourself with Maurice." Looking around the room he spotted Me starting to back out of the room and he frowned. "Come here Catherine," my father said pointing next to him.
I shook my head I didn't want to find out what was in that bottle. I tried to run but didn't get far before I bumped into officer Maurice. Officer Maurice smiled at me and I began backing away. Unfortunately, this made it so my father was able to grabbed me by my arm.
I let out a cry of pain as he dragged me into the living room and roughly shoved me into my chair. "I'll teach you to do as your told." he said raising his arm as if to hit me. I winced and turned my head slightly awaiting my punishment but it never came.
Turning back to my father I looked at him confused. It wasn't like him to withhold his hand and I sighed in relief. However, it was short lived as my father shoved the needle with the strange liquid into my arm.
I winced in pain and Maurice stared at My father in shock. Did he just drug and threaten minor? Maurice frowned the Chief needed to be informed of this.
"What are you staring at?" My father demanded frowning at his partner.
"Nothing Arthur." Maurice replied looking downward. Then suddenly he regained his composure and did something no one else dared to do. He questioned Arthur's motives and actions. "Don't you think your being a little hard on the kid? We don't want to traumatize her anymore then she's already been." Maurice replied.
"How dare you tell me how to treat my daughter! If I were you, I'd Stay out of this! Unless you desire to be put on permanent desk duty."! Arthur said with a chuckle, "Or worse depending on the Chief's mood. Arthur said with a smile knowing that the Chief was his father.
Maurice looked at Arthur horrified. Did he really just try to blackmail him? True, he could very well loose his job but he didn't care he wasn't about to toss his morals aside just because Arthur happened to be the Chief's son.
"I still think you shouldn't have done that."!Maurice mumbled. "It could get you into serious trouble."
"Oh really? How exactly is that? As I said, this is none of your concern! Catherine is my daughter, I am her legal guardian. If I want to interrogate her I have every right to do so. Oh and Maurice, Don't Ever Question my authority again." Arthur replied darkly.
Then turning back to me he smiled. "Now let's see how my new and improved truth serum works." Turning towards Me he said "sit!" I quickly did as I was told. "To insure you don't try to escape and for your own safety I'm going to tie you to this chair. Understand?"
I nodded and whispered "Yes Father."
"Good girl. Now this might sting a little." Arthur said attaching strange wires that were hooked up to his briefcase to the chair I was sitting in and to my hands and face. "Now, you'll tell me everything I want to know and if you don't, you will suffer. Every time you lie to me, this device will send a shock wave through your body. Do you understand sweetheart?"
"Yes Father." I whispered again.
"Good. Then let's get started shall we?." My father said with a smirk. Every time I didn't answer or gave an answer He didn't like, he pushed a small red button and an electric shock was sent through my body.
"What happened here and where is your mother?" My father demanded.
"I don't know. " I winced as a shot of pain surged through my body and I let out a cry of pain.
"Be quite! I don't want to hear you make another sound unless it's to answer my questions do you understand me?" Arthur said calmly. I nodded. "Good. Now, I know your lying to me! Don't make me turn the volume up higher. Now, I'll ask you again, what happened here and where is your mother?"
"I swear, I don't know" I replied again whimpering in pain as a jolt of electricity shot through my body once more. Unable to take the pain I started crying and my father frowned. This could cause problems should his partner hear me.
"Quit your blubbering Catherine! I have the device on the lowest setting. It shouldn't hurt."
"I'm sorry daddy." I replied sniffling. "I didn't mean to upset you. It's just that I..." My voice trailed off as my father turned the dial up slightly and hit the button again. I winced but this time did not cry out.
My father smiled at this and let out a slight sigh of contentment. " Much better. Your learning. Now if you would answer my questions we could end this and get on with our evening. Where is your mother?"
"I don't know." I replied once more.
My father sighed again and shook his head in disappointment. "Why do you have to be so stubborn. I can keep this up all night if I have too. The question my dear Catherine is can you? The longer you lie to me the higher the dial goes."
"The higher the dial goes the higher the increase of shock volume." With that my father turned a dial and sent another shock through my system. "Do I need to increase it again or will you answer my questions?"
I winced in pain but replied again. "I swear, I don't know what happened to mom. "
Now my father was getting extremely frustrated. "Tuttu" He replied wagging his finger at me. "You should have answered my questions. I tried to make this easy on you but no, you insist on lying to me, have it your way." He replied as he turned the shock volume up this time to over half way. With that he hit the button again sending more electricity through my body.
I wanted to cry but I knew my father had warned me to be silent. I didn't want to receive more punishment later the shock was excruciating enough. "Do I need to increase the volume again or are you going to do the smart thing and answer my questions?"
"No please," I moaned in pain tears forming in my eyes. "I'll tell you what I know, but I swear I don't know much!"
My father smiled triumphantly, "that's my good little girl. Now tell me what happened. Where is your mother?"
"Mom spotted some bad guys and shoved me in the panic room. From what I could make out, they were ninjas who called themselves the Foot. The leader mentioned that a Master Shredder wasn't pleased with mom because she had betrayed him." The more information I provided the deeper the scowl on her Father's face grew.
"Do you know what they were taking about? Does that name mean anything? Who were those bad men? What did they want?" I asked.
I could tell that my father didn't like this information. It made him very angry so much so that he turned the dial to full power.
Arthur POV
I frowned as he glared at Catherine. It was her fault my wife was missing. It was her the foot clan was after. I knew that if the foot clan had Crystal then she might very well be dead. It was all Catherine's fault. "All you need to know is that whatever happens to your mother is your fault ! I should have known the Shredder would never let the two of you go!"
With that I once again hit the small red button causing a huge surge of electricity to go through Catherine's body. She fainted from the pain and exhaustion. Seeing she fainted and knowing how Maurice would react I quickly turned the dial back down to a low setting to
cover my tracks.
Maurice POV
No longer hearing talking in the other room I returned concerned. I arrived in the room in enough time to see the child faint. I had enough. "How high of a setting did you have this at?" I yelled running over to the child and pulling the wires off of her. Pushing Arthur aside I looked inside the briefcase. "There is no way you had it on this setting. " I said with a frown.
Arthur just shrugged his shoulders. "I got results I wanted. What does it matter what setting I had it at? I'm her legal guardian, I have the authority to question and punish her in any manor I see fit."
"Not when your wearing that uniform you don't. I'm going to have to report this to the Chief." I replied with a frown.
"It's your funeral. The chief will side with me he is my father after all. Do you really think he'll take your word over mine? Besides, I did nothing wrong. I was well within my rights to do what I did. Catherine is strong she'll bounce back in no time. See what did I tell you?" Arthur said pointing towards the child who had awoken with a slight groan of pain. "She's fine."
"That's besides the point. Are you alright my dear?" I asked with genuine concern.
Catherine POV
"I." I caught a glimpse of my father who was frowning at me. His eyes told me everything if I knew what was good for me I'd keep my mouth shut. "I'm fine." Turning my attention back to my father I asked, "Father, you said you should have known the Shredder wouldn't let us go. I don't understand, what did you mean by that who is the Shredder?"
"Since your mother is missing and most likely won't be found or if she is she most likely won't be found alive I see no reason why I shouldn't tell you the truth. I am not your father I never have been and I never will be. The foot clan leader is your father, he almost killed you when you were five. Like the foolish child you are, you didn't heed the warning that the Shredder wanted to be left alone."
"Your only thought was of yourself. When you disturbed him he grabbed you and threw you over his head and into the wall. Your mother rushed in and rushed to your side horrified by what he had done. The Shredder ordered your mother to leave you where you fell. However, she wasn't about to let you die and brought you to a hospital. The Shredder saw this as an act of betrayal."
"I never did understand your mother's love for you and it seems neither did he. He wanted you returned to him so he could use you to set an example of what happens to those who disobey him . Your mother refused to return and now she's missing because the Foot clan found you."
"We could have lived happily ever after if it wasn't for you! We should have put you in foster care the moment you were out of the hospital but your mother wouldn't have it." At this my eyes began to fill with tears once more. "Quit crying you little brat!" My father said frustrated.
"Arthur! " Came the angry voice of his commanding officer. "Why was I just informed that you harmed a innocent minor? Just what is going on here?"
"I was just questioning my daughter. " my father replied.
"That's not what I have been told. You are to have nothing to do with this case and that includes questioning the witness." The Chief replied.
"But sir, she might have vital information concerning the criminals responsible for my wife's abduction. I can't just..." My father replied but was cut off mid sentence.
"Don't argue with me! You know as well as I that you can't investigate this case. You have already broken protocol. I have been informed of your treatment of this poor child. Not only did You use an illegal substance during an unauthorized interrogation you used it on a minor. I have also been notified that you used a device that can only be defined as torture on the child. That you had the device on full power." The Chief replied with a frown.
My father looked over at Maurice and glared. Obviously he hadn't taken the hint. "Sir I was just..."
"Save it!" His Chief who also happened to be his Father growled. "This time you've gone too far! I won't tolerate this type of behavior! You are to be terminated effective immediately . Turn in your badge and gun." The Chief demanded.
"You've got to be kidding me!" My father growled handing his badge and gun to his father.
"Do I look like I'm kidding. This is no laughing matter! I'm going to have to arrest you. You could be sent to jail for a minimum of five years for this! What where you thinking!?"
My father sighed the truth was he hadn't been thinking at all. He was just so furious with the whole situation that all sense of right and wrong went out the window. The chief sighed as he handcuffed my father. "The question now is what to do with your daughter."
"She's no daughter of mine. As far as I'm concerned, I'll gladly pay the ransom the kidnappers are demanding." My father replied.
"Ransom? What ransom?" His commanding officer and Father asked slightly intrigued and worried all at the same time.
"My wife in exchange for the girl." My father replied.
Upon hearing the kidnappers terms the Chief frowned. Why would the kidnappers want Me? Whatever the reason he wasn't about to give in to their demands. He was shocked that his son would even consider fulfilling the ransom demand. What had happened to his son to turn him into such a heartless man?
Frowning he turned back to my father. "What's gotten into you son? First you break protocol and now this? You and I both know that we can't give in to kidnappers demands. We will find another way to save your wife. That doesn't include putting this child in danger."
"Fine! Do what you want with her. Put her into the foster care system or better yet, put her in an orphanage. I can't, no, make it I won't raise her, She's not my problem anymore." My father replied scowling at Me.
"It's that kind of hotheadedness that got you into the situation you are in right now. You've got to learn to control your temper son." The Chief replied shaking his head in disappointment.
"I don't care. Whatever happened to my wife has happened because of her." My father replied pointing towards me.
I fought hard to fight back the tears that had formed in my eyes once more. It was obvious that the man that I had called father no longer loved me. I began to wonder if he ever really had. Since he no longer wanted me I decided I had only one option, I had to run away.
While my so called "father" had been discussing the situation with his peers I had taken this time to slip silently away. I wished I could find my father, my real father , Yet, I knew that my mother's abductor and possible killer was a part of the clan and that he wanted her dead. I was fairly sure after her conversation with her "so called father" that her real father wanted her dead as well.
With no other place to go I ran down a nearby dead end street and hid behind a garbage bin. I knew that I couldn't stay in the alley for long. I needed food, and a place to stay. I couldn't return home, I couldn't stay in the alley. It was marked with the symbol of the purple dragons, well known associates of the foot clan.
However, I was all out of energy so I lay down inside a box that was left in the alley. I would have to spend the night in this back alley and plan my next move quickly. It didn't take me long to find myself in a heap of trouble. Soon I was surrounded by members of the purple dragons.
"Well what have we here?" the leader of the the gang asked. "A Trespasser. We'll just have to teach you what happens to those who trespass on our territory.
"Please don't hurt me." I whimpered unable to contain my sobs any longer. The purple dragons looked at each other and smiled.
"Awe, is the little girl lost? Don't cry, we won't hurt you... much." One of the Purple Dragons said with a laugh. I gulped this wasn't good. What was I going to do?
