When the turtles arrived back at the lair they called to their sensei and father "Master Splinter we're back!" they all called out at once.

"Welcome home my sons. I take it your rescue mission was a success?"!

"Shell yeah!" Replied Mikey trying to give one of his brothers  a high three. "Come on bros don't leave me hanging dudes!"

"Well, it was sort of a success." Donnie replied hesitantly.

What is troubling  you my son? Splinter asked concerned.

"Well ya see, We arrived just as Baxster was creating new mutant hybrid and as a result we have  a new enemy. What's worse is that Catherine keeps calling the Shredder her father." Donnie said sadly.

"As for the new enemy, I called named him Dogcoon but he didn't like that name, he calls himself Tanuki, though I like Dogcoon better." Mikey stated.

"I was afraid of this, come stand before me my sons, the time has come to tell you the truth no matter how much it's going to hurt."

"What do you mean sensi?" The turtles asked gathering around Splinter.

"As much as it pains me to have to tell you this, Catherine is the Shredder's daughter."

"What???" The turtles all said in unison.

"Do you mean to say that Catherine is your daughter Mewa?"

"No my sons, Karai is my daughter and as I much as I wish that Catherine was my daughter, she is not. Wishing things were different will not make it any less true. The purple dragons were not planing on hurting her the night we rescued her. They were going to bring her to the Shredder. The truth is that The Shredder sought her out not to destroy her as she first thought, instead he sought her out because she is his daughter."

"Your just deciding to tell us this now? why?" demanded Leo frustrated.

"Leo calm down" Raph said trying to hold Leo back. It felt strange to be on the other end of this fight for once.

"Calm down? You expect me to,calm down when he lays a bomb shell like this on us? You knew she was the Shredder's daughter the whole time and you didn't see any reason to tell us this before now?" Leo demanded again. "Did it ever occur to you that she was trying to get close to us to learn our weaknesses and report back to the Shredder? How could you put this family in danger like that? I thought our safety meant the world to you." Leo said. Seeing the look of hurt on Splinter's face Leo immediately regretted what he had said. "I'm sorry Sensi, I didn't mean what I said. I was just shocked is all." Leo said looking up at Splinter apologetically. 

"Apology accepted my son. After I charged you to return to the lair I spent some time getting to know Catherine before deciding to bring her to the lair."

"It's ok sensi, you don't need to explain yourself to us." Leo replied.

"That may be, but you deserve to know the truth.  Catherine didn't remember much when we found her. Only that the Foot clan had kidnapped and possibly killed her mother and that they were after her. I had my suspicions as to why they were after her but since we didn't have all the facts I kept them to myself. The truth is, I didn't want my suspicions to be correct. Somehow, Catherine's memories of the past have returned, the memories of the Shredder being her father which she had long buried have now resurfaced. That is why she is acting the way she is, her world has been completely turned upside down. Her actions are how she is dealing with the hurt of finding out the truth."

"So what do we do about her" Leo asked looking over in Catherine's direction.

"What do you mean what are we going to do with her?" Raph asked. "She's family and we are going to treat her like we have always have."

"You can't be serious, I bet half the foot clan is out looking for her right now and you want her to stay here in the lair? That's real bright Ralph." Leo retorted. Acting more like Raphael then Raph was.

I furrowed her brow and looked at the two turtles who were glaring angrily into each other's eyes. "Leo? Ralph?" I closed my eyes blocking out all the sounds around her. I needed to meditate to focus my thoughts, memories came flooding back to me. Memories of how the turtles saved her life. Memories of Splinter training her to be a kunoichi or better known as a female ninja. Yet, memories stirred of long ago of training with the foot clan and the Shredder calling her daughter. The Shredder, the turtle's number one enemy was her father? how could that possibly be true? How could the turtles ever trust her knowing the truth?

Mikey tapped Catherine on the shoulder. "Ummm Cat," he said nervously "can you hear me duddette?"

"What do you want Mikey?" I replied with a slight hint of growing irritation. Between Leo and Raph arguing in the background and Mikey staring at her she was having a very hard time pulling her thoughts together.

"I'm sorry to bother you, but Master Splinter would like a word with you."

"Fine" I replied with a sigh. It was clear that I wasn't going to be able to meditate so I might as well hear what Master Splinter had to say.
