I do not own TMNT characters. This is a fan based story. Due to comments asking what material I use I felt I should give a warning ⚠️ to potential readers. I drew inspiration for this story from multiple versions of TMNT. The original 1980's cartoon series, the 1990's live action movies, several of the newer cartoon series & a little from the 2014 & 2016 live action movies. I have not read the original TMNT comics and I don't like the TMNT series where Shredder is a Krang so those versions won't be included. I also am hesitant to include the live action TMNT the next mutation series as I had mix emotions concerning it. I haven't seen the newest cartoon series so it won't be used as inspiration until I've had a chance to se it. That being said, please keep an open mind when reading this story. If you have a question as to which series or movie inspired which chapter I would be happy to answer you. But please refrain from negative comments about this being too far from the "original" material. Please Give it a chance. Thanks

There are several versions as to how and why the fight between Orroko Saki and Homoto Yoshi truly began. Some say, that Orroko Saki was one of the best fighters in Japan's Foot Clan, and his only real competition for the favor of the clan Master, was Homto Yoshi. It is said, that they competed in all things, including the love of a beautiful woman named Tang Shen. However, Tang Shen only loved Yoshi. Angered by her refusal of his love and wanting Yoshi out of the way, he framed Yoshi for murder. Ultimately, Yoshi had to flee to America.

Years later, Orroko Saki had worked his way up to the top of the Foot clan becoming one of their most deadliest warriors was chosen to become the leader of the Foot clan in their new location of  New York in America. In America, Orroko Saki took on the persona of the shredder and under his influence the foot clan branched out into criminal activities such as drug smuggling, petty theft, arms dealing and assassinations.

This is where versions of the story often become different. One version says, that when Shredder found out that his longtime adversary Hamoto Yoshi was living in New York he sought to destroy him. He killed Yoshi's wife Tang Shen and kidnapped his newly born daughter Kori.  Ultimately, he tried to kill Yoshi as well, but Yoshi escaped into the sewers.  Where he found four baby pet turtles that had been dumped into the sewers to die. In an attempt to kill Yoshi, Shredder dumped a canister of mutagen that he has stolen down into the sewers Yoshi called home. Instead of killing him however, the mutagen mutated Yoshi into a rat transforming him into Splinter. The mutagen also mutated the turtles and it was then that the "newly born" Splinter decided to raise them as his sons and train them in the ways of the nijitsu.

Another version says, that Splinter was the pet rat of Hamato Yoshi and that he learned the art of nijitsu by watching his master training. The rest of the story is similar, Shredder kills Yoshi's wife and Yoshi fights with him and ultimately dies. Splinter attacks Shredder casing damage to his face & Shredder cuts off part of Splinter's Ear. How Splinter found the turtles is the same as the other version. Except that he and the turtles learn to talk together.

Yet another version has Splinter & the turtles used as experiments. In this story, the writer is going to lean towards the newer versions where Splinter is Homato Yoshi transformed into a rat due to the mutagen. That being said, enjoy the rest of the story.

Shredder POV
As I looked down at the small bundle in my arms, I knew that it wouldn't be in her best interest or mine to try raise Yoshi's daughter alone. Perhaps, I could find a young woman to be her nanny and watch over her when I was busy with my duties. One day, I spotted a strange occurrence. For the first time ever, there was a female recruit.  I found myself wondering what her story was and why she had joined the clan.  I soon learned that her name was Crystal and that she was a Christian. Ugh. However, it amused me to learn that due to circumstances in her life she had chosen to walk away from her relationship with whom Crystal referred to as the "Lord Jesus Christ."

It eventually became clear that Crystal saw me
more then just a father figure. Although she was embarrassed to admit it, she had fallen in love with me. This made me smile. Perhaps, Crystal could be more then just a nanny to my beloved Kari. Perhaps, I could use this young Woman to my advantage. Not only would she raise Kari for me, but perhaps she could be convinced to bare me a son. Immortality would be mine.

Ugh! That stupid religion of hers! I knew that it would cause me grief. Crystal refuses to have children with me unless we are legally wed. I guess to achieve immortality, sacrifices would have to be made. Reluctantly, I agreed to her terms.

Crystal POV

It seemed to Me that all my dreams were coming true. I had forgotten or rather chose to forget the warnings that my Sunday school teacher had told her concerning having a relationship with a non believer.  I didn't care that the Shredder wasn't a Christian in fact I often found myself wondering why I had even become one in the first place. Things seemed to be going my way. I had worked my way up the ranks of the foot clan and had become Shredder's wife. Nothing could happen that would test that relationship or so I thought.

I knew that one of the only reasons the Shredder had married me was so that I could bear him a son. However, after visiting Dr Rockwell he told me that that I could never have children. At this I was devastated and heartbroken. Shredder would not be happy upon receiving this news. He might have an affair to obtain his goals or worse he'd divorce her and remarry someone who could provide him with what he desired. I frowned, once again I felt as if the Lord  abandoned me. Why was he allowing this to happen to me? I knew that my husband didn't like it when things didn't work out as he had planned. Nor did he like it when people failed him. I knew that being unable to bare him a child would be considered failure.

Perhaps it was time I once again sought the Lord. Things always seemed better when I was walking with him. Pulling out my bible I read Ecclesiastes 7:9 do not be quickly provoked in your sprit for anger resides in the lap of fools. Turning to another chapter again I found myself reading about anger.  James chapter one verses 19-20. My dear brothers and sisters take note of this, everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. Proverbs 30 verse 33 for as churning cream produces butter and twisting the nose produces blood so anger produces strife.

What with all these verses about anger? I shrugged my shoulders,  how were these scriptures suppose to help? I didn't have an issue with anger, I had an issue with telling someone news that would make him angry.

Tatsu POV

I noticed young Crystal's distress after her visit with the doctor and decided that it was the perfect time to make my move. You see, I had fallen in love with Crystal and I was willing to do whatever to took to ensure that Crystal would one day belong to me, even if it meant betraying the Shredder. Boldly I approached Crystal and kissed her directly on the lips.
To my surprise she responded by slapping me across the face and pushing me.

"What do you think you are doing?" She demanded angrily.

"I can tell that you are upset about something. I can tell that you are worried about how to tell the Master about whatever is bothering you. You're worried about how he will react to the news. I can only assume this means that Rockwell confirmed my suspicions, you are unable to bare children." I relied with a smile.

Crystal's eyes flashed with anger and she forgot the scripture she had just been reading a moment ago. "What do you know! Just because Rockwell says I can't have children doesn't make it true! In fact, the bible says I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength! Not to mention, I have several friends who were told they couldn't have kids and now they have three. Also, there were several women in the bible who were thought to be barren and wound up having children, So put a sock in it!"

To this I rolled my eyes and chuckled. "Quit with the preaching, the last thing I want to hear is more about your God. I'm sorry I even brought the subject up. I was just concerned about you. I didn't realize that was such a crime. Next time I'll keep my thoughts to myself, there's no need to bite my head off." I replied with a shrug.

I could tell that Crystal immediately regretted chewing me out and place as she placed a hand on my shoulder and looked at me apologetically. "I'm sorry Tatsu. I shouldn't have gotten so angry. I really do appreciate what you were trying to do for me."

At first I rolled my eyes thinking that Crystal was just playing games with me. However, upon seeing Her begin to cry I realized that She was serious and so I sighed. "I can see this means a lot to you. You really want to have a normal family. You want to have a loving husband, and loving father  for your children even if they aren't your own. The Shredder can't provide that, you know as well as I that he is driven by revenge. However, I can provide this, I can be the perfect husband and the perfect father. I'll even become a christian if that's what you want. I'll  protect you, from everyone, even the Master himself."

Crystal POV

I couldn't belief what I was hearing. Tasu protect me from the Shredder? Despite trying not to I couldn't help but laughed at this notion. "No offense Tatsu but your a weakling, you have no power to protect me, Shredder would tare you apart if he knew you had said these things. Shredder is the most powerful man in the city. No human alive can stand against him. Why would I leave him for a rat like you?" Upon seeing his gaze darken in anger I immediately regretted my last comment and I tried taking it back. "Tatsu, I didn't..." But Tatsu cut me off. 

Tatsu POV

"Save it! I don't want your pity apology." With that Tatsu turned and disappeared into to night. So, I am a rat am I? Well this rat will make you suffer!" I growled under my breath as I disappeared into the night.

When I returned to the lair I went straight to the Shredder to inform him of what I had found out concerning Crystal. "Master, I have some news that I thought should be brought to your attention. It concerns your wife." I said bowing down low before the Shredder.

Shredder POV

I crossed my arms and scowled warning Tatsu that he was walking on dangerous territory. "Why have you disturbed me?"

Tatsu swallowed nervously and I smiled beneath my helmet. "Forgive me for intruding Master, but as your second in command, I thought it best that you hear this from me. Has your wife informed you of the results of her visit with Dr. Rockwell?"

"Not that it's any of your business, but no she has not." I replied sitting down on his throne.

"Master, I have reason to believe that your wife is avoiding telling you the truth." Tatsu said slightly glancing up at me before lowering his gaze once more.

"What exactly is that?" I replied with a growl.

"It is my understanding, that Dr. Rockwell has come to the conclusion that your wife is barren. She is unable to bear children. That even the  invitro process might not work. I know that Crystal, I mean your wife is worried that you won't love her anymore if she fails to bare you an heir."

At this my scowl grew deeper." I should have known that if I wanted something done right, then I should do it myself!  Tell Rockwell that I will deal with this problem personally!" I replied with a slight growl.

"Sir, will you be seeking out a new bride?" Tatsu asked intrigued by the idea that the Shredder could solve the issue himself.

"That is none of your concern, however, to answer your question No, I will not seek out a new bride. Crystal will bare me an heir, make no mistake about that!"

"How do you plan accomplishing what Dr. Rockwell says is impossible task?" Tatsu asked in confusion. 

"As my wife is always telling me, nothing is impossible, especially with the help of her God. However, I plan on assisting Him when it comes to my wife and her child baring capability. As to how I'm going to accomplish that task, that is none of your concern ! You are dismissed."

"As you wish master." Tatsu replied with a fake smile which quickly disappeared as he exited the throne room. Once Tatsu was gone I paced the floor of my throne room pondering the issue Tatsu had brought before me. Crystal was barren and Rockwell said even invitro wouldn't work. There had to be a way to solve this issue that didn't require me to pray to my wife's God. Someway I could solve the problem without breaking my wife's heart by seeking out a new bride. Though if I have too I will. I will have a son one way or another. Nothing was going to stop me from having an heir. Then it hit me my associate and occasional boss Krang from dimnention X might have a solution to my problem.  Heading to the technodrome I fired up the computer to contact Krang.

Krang POV

"What do Youuuu want Shreddder?" I asked crankily. "Have you finally found a way to help me escape this wretched place?"

"Unfortunately, I still have been unable to find a solution to your dilemma however, I assure you, I have my top scientists working on the problem as we speak." Shredder replied.

"You had better be! Now, what is it I can do for you? I know this isn't a Social call." I demanded  grumpily.

"My wife is barren and I need a way to ensure she can bare me a son."

"It's not my fault your such a failure in your choice of not only of henchmen but of your choice in your spouse." I replied with a slight chuckle.

"I was hoping that you could assisting me in finding a solution to her problem." Shredder said trying hard not to loose his temper.

"Why should I waste valuable time and resources to help you? What's in it for me?" I replied with a smile.

Shredder growled, he hated it when I  refused to help him. "Need I remind you, I have saved your life multiple times. You owe me this."

At this I frowned. "Don't try to blackmail me Shredder! As I recall, you failed in all the tasks I've assigned you. However, I'm in a good mood, so I'll grant your request for assistance. Have your wife drink this and it'll solve your problems." I replied sending him a strange green liquid via the technodrome transporter. 

"What is it?" Shredder asked looking at the strange liquid in the tube.

"Never you mind, just give it to your wife and your wife's child bearing issues will be solved." I replied.

"How will this help?" Shredder asked confused.

"If you don't want it, then give it back" I replied.

"No, I trust you wouldn't lie to me about this. I'll take your word that it'll solve my wife's problems." Though I could tell that he wasn't sure why he was taking my word.

"It will help you but I don't guarantee it will give you the  results you want." I said with a smile and with that he hung up.

Shredder POV

"Krang wait!" But it was too late Krang had already hung up. What did Krang mean by his comment that this liquid would help but might not provide me with the results I wanted? I sighed oh well, guess I would just have to wait and find out.

Looking at the vial once more I dialed Dr. Rockwell. Soon he was in the foot headquarters kneeling before me. "What is it?" Dr. Rockwell asked looking at the solution in the test tube I had just handed him. "Where did you get it? I'd love to experiment with it to find out what it's made out of."

"What it is and where it came from is none of your concern. You are to make sure this is injected into my wife's blood stream and nothing more." I replied.

"As you wish Master! I shall give it to her at our next appointment."

"You will give it to her today" I growled.

"But master, we don't know what effects this liquid will have on you wife. We should at least test the chemical to see if it will work."

"No!" I replied cutting Dr. Rockwell off. "No experiments, no delays! I want it done today!"

"As you wish, Master!" With that Rockwell went and found Crystal.

Crystal POV

"Dr. Rockwell what brings you here?"

"I have to give you an injection to help protect you agents the nasty flu virus's etc and help you balance your hormones it might help solve some of your issues concerning your cycles."

"Ok Dr. If you think that's best I won't argue." A few weeks later I wasn't feeling well. I couldn't keep anything down. What's wrong with me?" I wondered. Hadn't Rockwell given me an injection to protect me agents the flu? Dialing up Dr. Rockwell's office I spoke to the receptionist to schedule an appointment for that afternoon. "I haven't been feeling well can I come in and see the Dr today?"

"Let me check his schedule. I'm sorry, but it seems that the Dr is booked till next week."

Doctor Rockwell POV

"Who is that on the phone Tina?" I asked walking into the room.

"Someone by the name of Crystal. She wants to come in for an appointment but your booked till next week."

"Tina, cancel my appointments for this afternoon. The patient on the phone must be seen immediately."

"But Dr.... " My assistant began to protest.

"Do it now!" I replied with a hint of irritation.

"As you wish Dr. Ma'am, Please hold I'm transferring you to the Dr. He wishes to speak with you personally."

"Thanks, please hurry!" Crystal replied starting to feel as if she was going to throw up again.

"How's my favorite patient?" I asked.

"Horrible Dr. I can't seem to hold anything down, I thought you gave me a shot to prevent... "Oh no again" Crystal moaned as she threw up in the toilet.

I smiled. Whatever the liquid was that the Shredder had given me to give to Crystal had worked. "I have a feeling I know exactly what's wrong. How about I have you come in for a checkup this afternoon to confirm my suspicions."

"You would do that? Crystal asked feeling another wave of sickness about to hit.

"For you my dear, anything". I replied.

Crystal POV

"I'll be there right away!" I replied hanging up the phone. As soon as I had hung up the phone I yelled for Tatsu. "TATSU get in here!" I yelled at the top of my lungs.

Tatsu ran into the room and kneeled before Me. I knew that He hated having to bow before me but Shredder had made it clear that I was  to be treated with respect and that I had the same authority as he did. Whatever I wanted from him Tatsu was to treat it as if the orders came from the Shredder himself. "How can I be of assistance to you? Crystal?"

At this I growled. "I thought my husband made it clear that you are not to address me so formally Tatsu! It's Mistress or madam to you, do understand?" I said in a dangerously irritated voice.

"Yes ma'am. I'm sorry ma'am. How can I be of assistance ma'am?" Tatsu asked with slight frustration.

Suddenly my attitude switched from irritation to that of sweetness. "I'm sure you have tons of things to do today and I don't want to be a burden, but is it possible for you to take me to Dr Rockwell's office? I don't trust anyone but you to take me there."

"I wasn't aware you had an appointment today. The Master usually informs me when I need to bring you places. However, I...." Before Tatsu could finish his sentence my demeanor changed once again this time to fury.

"It is not your place to question me! You heard me ask for something and you know the Master  and I don't like having to ask for something twice. Now bring me to Rockwell! Or you'll suffer the consequences." I growled.

Tatsu gulped he didn't know what was going on with me but my change of demeanor so quickly was starting to scare him. Though he'd never admit it. "Yes ma'am! Do you want to take the texhnodrome?"

"That won't be necessary, but thank you for the offer." I said sweetly.  "We can take the company car."

"Yes ma'am." Tatsu replied with a slight bow.

"Tatsu,"

"Yes ma'am?"

"You don't have to bow down to me." I replied sweetly.

"If it's all the same to you ma'am, I'd still prefer to bow as a sign of respect." Tatsu replied barely looking at Me.

I frowned. "Fine! Stop wasting time with bowing down to me and let's get going! I don't want to be late!" The rest of the ride to Rockwell's office was filled with silence. Tatsu was afraid to say something that might upset Me and I was upset that Tatsu wasn't man enough to talk to me.

Soon I was in Rockwell's office sitting on the bed. "So what's wrong with me Dr?"

Rockwell chuckled, "Your pregnant my dear."

"I'm what?" I said starting to feel woozy.
"Your with child and rather far along I might add. You should be bearing a healthy baby in June.  I can even tell you the gender of the child if you want to know."

It took Me a minute to process what Dr Rockwell was telling me. "Would you like to know the child's gender or do you want it to be a surprise?" Rockwell asked once again.

"I see no reason to wait, go ahead and tell me the gender now." I replied.

"Congratulations, You are going to have a beautiful baby girl."

"Are you positive that it's a girl?"

"Yes,  why?"

"Oh no...." I moaned.

"What's the matter?  I thought you'd be happy with this report."

"Oh I am, it's just that, well Master Shredder wanted a baby boy. I'm not sure his he is going to react when I tell him we are having a girl."

"I wouldn't worry, I'm sure he will love the child no matter what." Rockwell replied trying to comfort Me.

"I hope so." I replied tearfully.

Tatsu POV

I looked at Crystal and could tell right away that She seemed upset by something. I smiled I had a pritty good idea what was bothering her. "Forgive me your highness, but are you alright? Did Dr Rockwell say something to upset you?"

Crystal looked at me questioningly before replying. "He gave me important news however, I'm not sure how the Master is going to take it."

"What news is that "madam?" I asked curiously.

Crystal sighed, "I'm pregnant."

I frowned this was not what I had wanted to hear. Pushing my frustration aside I faked a smile. "That's wonderful news! What shall we do to celebrate?"

"I'm not in a celebratory mood at the moment. Right now all I want to do is go home." Crystal replied suddenly sounding extremely tired.

"I'd you don't mind my asking Ma'am why would you think this news would upset the Master? I'm sure he will be elated to find out that your with child." I replied faking a smile once more.

Crystal POV

Despite him trying his best not to show it I could tell that Tatsu was trying his best to hide his disappointment in the news that I was pregnant.  I could tell that he was forcing himself to smile. I frowned and then replied. "I don't know why I'm even discussing this with you. This is none of your concern. In fact, forget we ever had this conversation and quit staring at me!" I replied suddenly angry for some reason.

"As you wish Ma'am. I didn't mean to intrude." Tatsu replied looking at the road once more.

"Just drive." I replied with slight irritation in her voice.

"Yes Ma'am." Tatsu replied again trying not to make Me irritated. With my hormones the way they were I was a ticking time bomb about to explode at any minute. He didn't want to be anywhere near me if and or when that happened. If I was this quick to become upset
he didn't want to find out what type of punishment I would have in store for him should be really make me angry.

Upon arriving at headquarters Tatsu and I went our separate ways. I went directly to my room and  then decided to go out shopping. Tatsu went to report to Shredder .

Shredder POV

"Master, I have some rather intriguing news to report concerning your Wife's condition."

"I am well aware of my wife's condition. Rockwell has already informed me that she is with child, she is going to bare me an hair." I replied with a slight smile. "Now bring my queen to me, so that I might congratulate her."

"As you wish Master," Tatsu replied with a fake smile. However, Crystal was nowhere to be found in headquarters. "Now where did she run off too?" Tatsu frowned. Looking around the room he noticed a shopping list lying on the nearby table. Color for baby shower Blue. Humm, seems Crystal was planing on lying to the Master concerning the child's gender. Better let him know of her intentions to lie to him.

"Master, your wife has gone shopping for the baby shower." Tatsu said as he bowed before the Shredder.

"I see. Well, I just have to congratulate her when she returns." I replied sitting down on my throne.

"Master, I don't want to over step my bounds but I thought that I should inform you that your wife plans on trying to fool you concerning the child's gender."

"Why is that?"

"The color for the baby shower is to be blue."

"As it should be. She is after all bearing me a son." I replied.

"Master, you are going to have a daughter."

"How do you know the child's gender?"

"Your wife seemed concerned about how to inform you of the results of her visit. If she were having a boy, she wouldn't be worried about telling you that she's pregnant."

I let out a low growl. "Bring Crystal to me NOW!! She has some explaining to do!"

Tatsu POV

"As you wish Master!" I replied doing the motion a soldier would do after receiving his orders. I smiled as I left the room. This was turning out better then I had hoped. After leaving the Shredder I gathered my best soldiers "Crystal has betrayed the Master and must be found and brought to justice. Whoever captures her shall be greatly rewarded now go and if you locate her don't speak to her at all! She is a traitor and is to be treated as such."

"Yes Master Tatsu!" The foot soldiers said in unison.
