prisoners visit
The young woman entered the room. All the walls were made of concrete and no one ever bothered to paint them. She took a seat, neatly placing her purse on her lap. She looked rather uncomfortable on that old wooden chair and it took her some time to finally look up and meet the gaze of the person opposite her. Opposite the glass window, opposite her life. He looked at her with a wretched smile, still the same, still who he was before. "How are you?" He looked good as he said this. So innocent. Why would anyone ever have believed he was capable of doing something like this?" "I'm...", she started. Tears were welling up in her eyes. His expression changed rapidly. "Hey honey, it's okay. Shhh." She blinked. How could she ever have been in love with him. He hadn't been honest. His life was just like a show, it was all play-pretend. He was play-pretend. "Yu wanted to see me." "Yes, I wanted to see you. I really...", he looked up, took a deep breath. She couldn't trust him anymore. Even as he did this she wondered if this was all a strategy to get a benefit out of her visit. "...missed you." She just stared at him and it was impossible to tell what was going on in her head. "You know, I will never visit you again", she said. She stood up, the phone still in her hand. "I wish you good luck in your life. I really do. Bye." Then she left and she didn't regret to visit him even though tears started to stream down her face as soon as she had left the dull grey building.
