So I already watched Anne with an E very recently and I'm just gonna give off a review on it. You can watch it on Netflix and I think you can watch it on CBC on demand still? Idk. Also my header is a flex to my Green Gables snow globe my parents got me when they went to PEI before I was born hehe.

Summary (summary of episode 1 bc it ties the series together): Basically this show is about this 13yr old Orphan girl named Anne Shirley living in Avonlea, Prince Edward Island, CANADA in the 1890s. Things about her are that she loves to read, wild imagination, super intelligent, a hardcore feminist, and has a "fiery temper" (according to Gilbert). Mathew Cuthbert takes Anne to him and his sister Marilla Cuthbert's Green Gables farm house to live. The thing is Marilla planned for Mathew to get adopt a boy to help with farm work. Anne has struggled finding acceptance and love when it comes to families so this broke her. Matthew still wanted Anne to stay but Marilla doesn't trust Anne still. This appears when Marilla's broach goes missing and she accuses Anne of losing it. Out of anger Marilla sends Anne away to the orphanage. Only to find out Anne did not lose it. Matthew manages to find Anne on her way to the train to the Orphanage and he stops her and brings her back to Green Gables and Anne is officially apart of their family.

In the rest of the series she has to face her new life in Green Gables and all the ups and downs her journey lives onto.

General review: 12/10 IT WAS FUCKING AMAZING IT TALKS ABOUT SO MUCH TOPICS WITHOUT IT BEING GLAMORIZED AND SUCH. Some of the topics the show goes off of is sexism, residential schools, queer representation, racism, ptsd/trauma, and child marriage. Super educational too since it talks about Canadian History. Highly recommend. Also the intro slaps-

Minimum Age: 12+ since it talks about sensitive topics.

Downside: Unfortunately the series got canceled so there's a lot of things that were still unresolved after the end of the series. Satisfying ending for the seasons (1,2,3) but not satisfying ending as a series.

Descriptive rating (contains spoilers): Josie and Billy fucking suck. They can go bye bye. HAVE FUN WALKING HOME TOGTHER 🙄🙄. Moody in season 3 what a glow up. GILBERT FOR THE LOVE OF GOSH WHAT THE FUCK YOU RLLY SAID "Anne said no." WHEN REALLY SHE WAS JUST IN SHOCK AND JUMBLING UP HER WORDS AND SHE WAS DRUNK AT THE TIMEEEE. Also Diana, Bash, and Cole are the best Shirbert shippers you CANNOT TELL ME OTHERWISE they rlly be done with life watching those two be oblivious to their love.

Since there was so much empty holes in the series, I'm positive they were about to have more seasons to it, because even though the 3rd season had a satisfying ending, the series itself did not (there was a lot of unanswered questions like Ka'kwet, what will happen to Anne and Gilbert after, will Diana and Jerry get back together). And since of those unresolved scenarios, they most likely planned for more seasons.

It got cancelled bc they didn't have enough fans that were their targeted audience (24-56) which is odd, since this is a coming of age show surrounded around teens so obviously teens are gonna watch it. Maybe they thought the topics were too sensitive, or the 1890s Canadian History might throw them off, but we still watched it nonetheless. And I'm sure many teens like myself found it educational and entertaining and it will help us in the long run.

I wish they wouldn't have cared so much about the targeted audience because we gained such a wide fandom and this series was too good just to cancel it over a targeted audience. It talked deep and spoke out about everything (racism, sexism, queer representation, residential schools, child marriage, etc) without it being cringy or glamorized.

I kind of got out of topic but in conclusion if they haven't canceled it we would've most likely got more seasons and gotten closure of Ka'kwet as well as the secondary ships that were near the 3rd season. #renewannewithane #fucknetflix #fuckcbc
