There in front of me was my little brother with a goofy grin. I froze in surprise.

I was told he was dead....I've failed.

I should've done more digging to find him. I should've went after Kisuke and asked. I've failed as a sister, he must hate me. I felt sick to my stomach all of a sudden.

"Sensei may I go to the nurse I don't feel well." I asked politely.

"Of course. Go on ahead" she said with a warm smile.

I stood up and ran off. I didn't stop at the nurse, I ran right out the door and straight to Kisuke's shop. Then I ran through the door and straight to my current room. I slammed the door and locked it so Kisuke couldn't bother me.

I can't go back to that school.

I slid down the wall and sat in the corner of the room. I hugged my knees tightly and laid my head on my knees. That's when the tears started to fall.

I am a failure.

I failed my squad,

My zompacto

My Father

My brother

My friends.....Everyone.

I sobbed into my knees as my black hair helped cover my face from view. A knock came at the door but I ignored it and kept sobbing. They tried to open the door but it was locked.

"Hima, please open up...we want to help." Yoruichi said gently.

That's just great, the great squad 14 captain needs help because she's to weak.

I bitterly got up and jumped out the window. Tears were still falling down my face. By the looks of it, it was sundown and would get dark soon. I ran to a park before appearing at a river. I sat on the edge of a dock and looked down at the water below. My reflection looked back at me, but I barely recognize it.

I'm done for....I'll never see or talk to my zompacto again...the old man will denounce my captain title and I'll be kicked out of the soul society completely...I've now lost everything.

Tears fell again and I buried my face in my hands. I was shaking from the crying. The sun was almost completely gone and I knew Kisuke was probably out looking for me.

"What's da matter?" A voice I didn't want to here right now said....Shinji..

I wiped my eyes quickly and stood up.

"Nothing" I said while walking past him with my hair blocking my face from view.

A hand grabbed my shoulder and spun me around till I was face to face with him.

"If that was so, then why do ya have tear stains on your face?" Shinji said accusingly.

"Please leave me be Shinji." I whispered while looking at the ground.

"Ya know you remind me of someone, But she's a long way away. I haven't seen her in forever. She was my big sis by the way." He said while looking off into the distance.

I covered my face as more tears fell when he said that. He quickly looked down at me confused.

"Just tell me what's wrong." He said gently.

"You'd hate me..I'm a failure." I choked out bitterly.

He seemed very confused.

"I just met you, how can I hate you?" He said in confusion.

"You don't understand!" I yelled into my hands.

"Then tell me!" He said angrily while throwing his hands into the air.

"I don't think you really want to know, Captain Shinji." I said while looking up at him in annoyance and anger.

He froze as his eyes widened. His mouth hung agape and I covered my mouth quickly add realising what I just said. I turned around and tried to run off. I got a couple feet before shinji flashed in front of me. I turned around again but he just flashed in from me again.

"Who are you and what do you want?" He said threateningly with a hollow mask on.

My eyes widened and I backed up. All of a sudden a hollow scream was heard nearby. We both looked over at it. It was rather agile looking and about the size of a small tree. I looked over and noticed Shinji had taken off his hollow mask.

"Guess you can deal with that." Shinji said before flashing off.

I looked at where he had been in fear, then back at the hollow. It was looking around till it saw me.

Crap...

"What a tasty looking meal." He said before stepping towards me.

I turned around and ran as fast as I could. The hollow immediately began to chase me. He was rather fast as well, so he was quickly gaining on me.

What do I do!?!

I ran through alley ways to try and loose him. I appeared at a park and realised I had no where to go now. The hollow was right behind me and stopped a few feet away.

"Hmm poor child can't find anywhere to run." The hollow teased.

I tried to run again but the hollow reached out and grabbed me. He squeezed tightly and my wound flared up.

"Ahhhhh!" I screamed in pain.

The hollow started to laugh at my pain.

This is it, I'm going to die at the hands of this hollow.

"Ya know soul reaper, you're really starting to confuse me." Shinji said as appeared in front of me and the hollow.

The hollow laughed again.

"Perfect more food, but you'll have to wait as I finish this snack." The hollow said while dangling me above his mouth.

I freaked out and latched on to his hand in fear. Never in my life have I been in the hands of a hollow. I've always taken them out in an instance. I prepared for the worst and closed my eyes.

Slash!

I fell from the hollows grasp and started to fall towards the rapidly approaching concrete as the hollow disappeared. Just as I was about to hit the ground Shinji caught me and flashed away. We appeared back at the river where I had been crying. He set me down and then crossed his arms.

"So you gonna tell me what's wrong?" He asked while looking down at me.

"I don't need your help! I can handle it!" I yelled while pointing at him angrily.

He's starting to tick me off!!

"Ya know, ya sound just like my big sister it's scary. Do you know her? She's the captain of squad 14, ya know, blonde, shortish, workaholic, always hangs with the old guys." He explained.

Now I am officially ticked off!!

I groaned in frustration and turned around. Then I whirled around and grabbed him by the collar of his shirt so he was face to face with me.

"Ya I know her!!! Because I AM CAPTAIN HIMAWARI HIRAKO!! YOUR SISTER!!" I yelled in frustration, not just because he couldn't figure it, but because I was so powerless and different that my own brother didn't recognise me.

Shinji froze and just stared at nothing. I let go and ran off as fast as I could, so I didn't have see his reaction.

It's official, he defiantly hates me now.

I ran even faster as my breath quickened and tears fell down my face. I was a sobbing mess as I ran down the dark alleys trying to find Kisuke's shop. I turned into another alley when a pair of arms wrapped around me and pulled me into a hug.

What?

I froze at the contact immediately. I looked up through my tears at the person.........Shinji. I started sobbing even more and buried my face in his shirt. All my life it was the opposite. I always comforted Shinji when he was down. Now it's he who was comforting me.

"Shsh, it's alright Hima. I'm here." Shinji said gently.

"No it's not." I cried out into his shirt.

He rubbed my back gently trying to soothe my crying.

"Then tell what's wrong Hima?" He said while pulling away a little so he could look at my face.

Tears still fell at a steady stream as I looked up.

"I've failed. I failed the soul society. I failed you. I failed my friends. I failed my zompacto..I..I..failed..everyone." I rambled as I cried more.

"No you didn't. Your the strongest out of all of us. When anyone needs help you're the one that helps them." He said while holding my shoulders tightly.

I looked down at the ground.

"No, I'm powerless. I wasn't strong enough and now I might not be a captain anymore. I might not get to see or talk to Chiku and Suki again." I choked while looking at the ground.

He seemed stunned and lifted my head up.

"What do you mean?" He asked sadly.

A few tears slipped down my face.

"A..izen..he did..something to Chiku..and..Suki. Now they..are out of control. I..I can't control my powers..so..so Kisuke had to seal..them..for now." I choked out and covered my face in shame.

Shinji cursed under his breath and pulled me into a hug.

"Don't worry Hima, you'll get your powers under control again. Aizen is going to pay." Shinji said angrily.

I yawned into Shinji's shirt and tiredly wiped my eyes. Shinji must have noticed because he turned around and bent down.

"Get on my back." Shinji said casually.

I hopped on and snuggled into his warm back. He walked at a calm pace and it caused my eyes to get droopy. I knew I was about to fall asleep.

"Thanks...brother." I whispered before falling asleep.
