Chapter 6: Something Get's Stolen From Me, and I Get a Library.

About a week later I heard more news about this Anne person.

“Conrad?”

“Yes Kat?”

“I have heard people whispering about…”

“What about?”

“A-Anne.”

“Oh. Her.”

“Who is she?” He ended up going into a long winded discussion about her and him and why he had to find a mate.

This is the bottom line of what he said.

He is now 16 in Shif time and it is time for him to pick a bride to become betrothed to. It is said that there is an instant connection between the two people and they become mates for life. He has to mate in time to take over the throne. Or else his kingdom will fall to the next in line. His sister Anne Marie ran away when they were younger because she knew that she would never be queen and she turned evil wanting to start a revolution to become queen. If he hadn’t found me by the time he turned 17 Anne would have taken over. He had three more weeks on earth to find me and if he didn’t he would have been banished and forced to stay on Earth forever.

“Heavy stuff.”

“You have no idea, Kat.”

“How were you able to find me might I ask?”

“I was able to sense you.”

“Anytime? Or just after you found me?”

“After I found you. And anytime.”

“Geez. How does that work?”

“Well I could sense that you weren’t on Shif but on Na-Earth. After I got to Earth I could sense you were in the U.S. Hen I arrived in New York I could tell you were in Washington. After that I could sense you were in Seattle, then Redmount Academy.”

“But you couldn’t tell it was me?”

“After the first day I felt it the sensation grow stronger so I knew I had met you. I had met other girls that day and was getting to know them. That’s why I ignored you. Then the SATF showed up. I avoided them all day until after school thinking everyone had left.”

“Apparently not everyone.”

“Yes. I took you here and the sense grew stronger. The thought crossed through my mind that it might be you but I didn’t know for sure until the other day.”

“What does it feel like? The sensations I mean.”

“Like my heart, brain and gut are all pulling me in some direction. I talked to my dad once and he said he still gets those same feelings for my mom. After I knew it was you he said that my brain will send me images to me help find you, my heart will feel lighter the more I’m with you, and my gut will help me make decisions and what happens will be what needed to happen.”

“You are such a super powered freak.” I said while punching his arm to let him know I was only joking.

“Yes and you are my princess.”

“Not a princess.” I said under my breath.

“So what would you like to do today ‘Not-A-Princess’.”

“I hate you…you know that right?”

“I knew you’d like that.”

“I don’t know.” I said changing back to his question. “What do you do around here for fun.”

“I know what we can do.” He grabbed my hand and started to run towing me behind him.

*Conrad*

I pulled her after me turning left and right and right and left and even backtracking to ensure she couldn’t find her way back without me.

“Conrad? Are you trying to confuse me?”

Damn, how did she guess? “What on earth would give you that idea?”

“Because we have passed the same paintings three times before.”

“We have multiples?” Her face said she wasn’t buying a thing. “Okay, okay…” I said giving into her, god why can’t I deny her? “…We will go there for real.”

“Promise?”

“Promise.” Thats when she stuck out her pinkie.

“By the look on your face I can tell you’re confused…” she sighed. “Your supposed to hook your pinkie around mine.

Strange Narsda custom I assume. I did notice she wasn’t exactly protecting herself from me and I took advantage of that. I grabbed her pinkie with mine and then her waist and pulled her into a kiss. “Promise.” I said after letting her go. She was deep red and that just proved my success.

Before she could react I pulled her behind me once again. We raced through the halls until we got to our destination. I lead her to the middle and left her to turn on the lights. After she adjusted, I guessed, I heard a loud gasp from her direction.

Before I tell you where he took me let’s go back and replay ‘the incident’ from my perspective.

I had noticed long before I told him that he was distracting me. I decided I’d introduce him to the pinkie promise to get him to stop. When I explained, he looked at my finger like an idiot before I told him, he grabbed my pinkie. I was about to tell him to grab it with his other one when he took hold of my waist. I opened my mouth to say something and he immediately put his lips against mine.

My mouth having been opened when he kissed me was vulnerable to the attack his tongue gave. My body was frozen in shock and did the unthinkable, and without my consent I might add, It kissed him back. Our tongues danced with each other until all my breath was spent. My first kiss gone and all I could do was stare. He smiled triumphantly. I could just hear his mind saying ‘I win.’

So anyway back to where he took me. He opened the doors to a dark room and lead me to the middle. I felt him pull away and then I heard a click. The lights burned as I waited for them to adjust. When they did I gasped.

What could be seen of the walls were marble. There were three levels to this room with a great ceiling above. All around me were shelves. Against the walls were shelves reaching as high as they could. Every single space on the shelves were filled with books. The kiss temporarily left my mind as I thought I had died and gone to heaven. In this room were more books than I could read in two life times.

“Oh. My Gawd.” I said in my shock.

“I knew you would like it. You are always reading. In here are more than 5,000 books. And all of them are now yours to read.”

“Oh. My. Gawd. Are there any books from Earth?”

“That is actually where these are from. This is the Narsda wing. There is a wing for each planet but yours makes the most so this is the largest.”

“Oh. My. Gawd.”

“Is that all you can say?

No. There was one thing that hadn’t been said yet. “You kissed me.”
