Safety
Tears begin to prick your (E/C) eyes, now sparkling from the tears that were held in them. You had expected some unnecessary behavior from your kind but this, this was just wrong. You felt something shatter and crack a little inside you. It was like your heart was beginning to shatter into a million pieces. You were finally happy, why couldn't they be happy for you too? You pondered the question, causing more tears to fall gracefully from your eyes.
" Babe? " You looked up to meet Sans' gaze, hand over your heart in an attempt to stop it breaking completely. The skeleton watched over you for a few moments in complete silence, his eye turning blue once more. He stared at you intensely and for the first time, he frowned. It would seem that it wasn't just your heart that was breaking. Sans held you close in his arms, gently shushing you and stroking the back of your head. His comfort was appreciated, you closing your eyes slowly to try and forget for a few moments. The skeleton never let go, what he had seen shook him. Your soul, it was breaking even more from the hurt you felt and Sans had promised to stop that. He knew that if it completely shattered then you would be a shell of your former self, not the person he loved so dearly. He felt like his own soul would shatter along with you from the heartbreak of loosing his special girl. He continued to whisper sweet nothings to you in an attempt to calm you and patch up your soul a little. You take a deep breath, your tears and sobs finally subsiding. You look up, seeing Sans smile once more.
" Everythin' will be ok sweetheart. Look at me, I mean it. I promised to keep ya safe and keep ya safe I shall " You smiled softly, knowing that Sans really did mean what he said. You stood to your feet, holding the skeleton's hand tightly. You were safe in this home. Two monsters to protect you from harm, one of them being your boyfriend who had vowed to keep you safe from hurt. Gently, Sans helps you sit on the couch, running his hand along your jaw line once you were seated. You could tell that this whole ordeal didn't phase him. His kind had been through so much that this level of hostility must seem natural. You didn't know how to handle it but you knew that it you wanted to stay with the skeleton then it was something you would have to get used to. You sigh, looking to the floor, despair filling your heart. You could feel Sans' warm love trying to push through it but so far you felt nothing but sadness.
" Sans, I'm going to make her some coffee " Sans nodded to his brother, sitting as close to you as he could and wrapping his arm around you to pull you even closer. You laid your hand on his ribcage for comfort, almost like a sort of hug. Suddenly something arose from deep down within you, set off from Sans' kind words and gestures. Tears once again began to flow from your eyes, falling onto the skeleton's clean blue coat. You could feel the warmth overtake your body, filling your heart with bliss. It felt wonderful to know that you weren't alone. You had Sans and Papyrus to look out for you. Everything was going to be ok. You smile, hearing faint thumps from Sans soul as it once again became visible to you. You saw the soul leave a trail of mist around the two of you, warm and comforting as it did. Your own soul thumped to the same beat as your boyfriend's, eventually doing the same. The souls danced together in the air, wrapping around one another playfully and gently. Your soul knew that all would be well and as you watched it dance with the soul of your lover you see how deep the bond between you went. Deeper then the deepest ocean, stronger then steel. This was indeed something special.
