Marked By Fate

Your chest was heavy but you also felt as light as air, like you could float away into the sky. You had never felt anything like this before, not even your fondest and faintest memory of your family could compare. You could tell that Sans felt the same, feeling a bony hand grasp yours gently as the glow in his sockets grew brighter at the contact.

" One thing ya never found in that textbook babe. When we monsters find our soul mate we both have to accept it for what it is. I know ya have had mixed feelings about us but it would seem that finding that diary has made up your mind" Sans smiles peacefully, taking in a deep breath into his non existent lungs. Small tears of happiness escape your eyes, unable to hold back the flood gates as they came pouring down like a gentle shower.

" Your soul has finally accepted our situation and wants to connect with my own " You begin to sob gently, soft whimpers escaping past your pale lips. You were far from sad, your confident and radiant smile showed that but that did not stop the skeleton holding your hand in a reassuring manner, knowing full well that you were scared deep down.

" What is going to happen? "

" Just our souls connecting like never before babe, nothin' painful. It is just so others can know that fate has joined us " You nod slowly, feeling a slight tingle in your hand where Sans held you. The skeleton lifts up your hands in front of you both when he notices the light from your soul shine, enveloping the room in its glow. Sans' soul does the same, dancing around your hands like harmless flames in the air. They shined with your love for one another and the fact that they could be used to light the whole house was proof enough of how strong your love was. You watch with bated breath as Sans closes his sockets, taking  yet another deep breath. Sans had never acted so nervous in front of you before and in all honesty that shook you a little bit, seeing the laid back and carefree monster exhibit such an emotion.

You didn't close your eyes, no matter how blinding the light was. No, you wanted to see what was going to happen. The souls swirl around your hands, eventually vanishing into the air. Your skin becomes translucent, able to see the bones underneath. It reminded you how close you and Sans actually were, how alike you were. A human and a monster but both in some way the exact same. You smile at the thought, watching with wide eyes as both hands glow with the shine of the soul opposite to yours, leaving a small mark similar to a flame on yours and Sans' bones after it faded. Marked by fate, how fitting. You were about to retract your hand but soon thought other of it as the souls raised from your bodies, ready to return. Something was different though. Both Sans' blue soul and your (F/C) soul were now mixed together. You now both were one in the same, literally. You held part of Sans' soul and he held some of yours. You were now closer then ever before, reborn almost. The souls return, entering your chests with a soft whisper, much like a small gust of wind.

Sans finally opens his sockets, turning his hand slightly to look at the mark.

" Hm...seems that even my soul is too lazy to come up with a better design hehe " You smile, chuckling gently at Sans' self assessment of his soul. You could already feel the difference in your chest, a warmness that wasn't there before and now Sans' sockets were filled with not only a faint blue but also a faint (F/C) from your soul.

" C,mere babe " Sans pulls you close, wrapping his arms around you and laying them on your back. His ribs pressed against you as he leaned in for a soft kiss, placing your hand firmly on where his soul lay. You felt serendipity in the whole situation, kissing the skeleton back gently as your nerves vanished for good and the silence in the room became comforting.
