Prince Haneul
They have decide to keep on moving towards their destination. Traveling until they reached the North shore. By night fall, they finally reached the north beach. As the traveling group stopped at the edge of the forest, they watched for any signs of Prince Haneul.
"I've sent my monkeys and lions to look for any signs of humans and let me know if they find anything." Lihua tells the group who have made camp for the night.
As the night progressed, Lihua cultivated with Takeshi by her side as they use to cultivate together in their cave. Her lion sent her a message of a party a few miles from their location who also made camp. She sent her butterfly to watch from above, as the closest monkey traveled by tree and her lion slowly creep up by ground.
As her butterfly reached the camp first, she saw three people who looked battered and weak. None of them were keeping night watch as their tired and injured body all rested on the ground.
Her animals went around the small group, to ensure no one was watching, before she informed Takeshi about her findings.
"I'll go take a look." Thorin said as he listened in on their conversation.
"I'll go too." Takeshi said as he stood up. "Xin, Ethan. Guard your Mistress well."
Xin and Ethan had been sitting not to far away from Lihua, but upon receiving Takeshi's orders, they got up and stood behind her.
Thorin and Takeshi along with four Devil's Soldiers went with them to meet the small group of people. The six of them slowly and quietly crept up to the three men and Thorin could tell one of them was Prince Haneul. The other two were the Prince's personal bodyguard that came to Phantom Mirage with him.
Their badly beaten and weaken bodies lied still as the six of them made their way towards them. They didn't even stir when Thorin took their pulse and tried to diagnose their injuries. Upon seeing the dire situation the three were in, the Devil's Soldiers help carry the men back to their camp.
They had to use the light from the moon to clean and bandage their wounds. They couldn't light a fire, in fear of attracting beasts in the night. Thorin, Dai and Sora did the best they could for the three men under the light of the moon. As long as they stopped the bleeding and if the fever doesn't kill them, they would have a chance at survival.
Thorin, Dai, Sora, and Takao took turns keeping watch over their Prince and his body guards. Lihua had given them fever medication that she brought with her that they gave to the three of them to keep the fever at bay.
By morning, their bodies burned hot after the medication wore off. The soldiers carried the bodies into the ocean and submerged their bodies into the water. When their bodies cooled down, they built a fire and laid them next to the fire as their bandage was cleaned and changed again.
They had spent the next couple of days watching over Prince Haneul and his two guards. As they started seeing signs of healing, one of the guards broke into a higher fever and died quietly. Afraid that the same thing would happen to Prince Haneul, there was someone who sat next to him the whole time and checked his vitals constantly.
By the ninth day in Phantom Mirage, the third day in their world, Prince Haneul woke up. His weakened body had no strength as he sighed in comfort knowing that he was safe. As long as he was with the group, his life would be guaranteed.
"There are two castles that we can search on our way back to the entrance of the portal." Thorin said as they talked about their next step in their plans. "One of them I already searched through 40 years ago. Although I didn't do a detailed search, I still remember the layout of the castle of the places that Isearched through. The other castle is not far from the first one. And I don't know anything about the castle. I didn't get a chance to search through it due to the lack of time."
"With the group of us searching the castle at the same time, we could search through the castle faster and if we have time, we take a look in the second castle as well." Takeshi said.
The group left their camp and everyone took turns carrying Prince Haneul and his bodyguard, Sai. They were able to quickly get to the first castle due to Thorin's knowledge of it's location and the surroundings. Along with Lihua's animals out as scouts, they were able to avoid fighting several beasts. Although they could have fought the beasts and won, they didn't want to waste their energy with the castle and it's treasures calling their names.
By the time they reached the first castle, it was late afternoon and some of the soldiers were able to hunt and kill an elk. They were able to skin, clean and cook the elk quickly before the sun set and they had to put out the fire. They have decided not to enter the castle until the next day, fearing the dangers of the castle that it held at night.
As they ate the elk meat, they all kept silence as they felt as if they were being watched. Everyone was on high alert as their eyes scanned their surroundings and the castle. Prince Haneul and Sai was able to eat a little bit of the cooked meat, giving them some strength before falling back asleep due to fatigue.
That night, other than Prince Haneul and Sai, everyone didn't rest nor did they cultivate. They were weary of their surroundings and didn't trust themselves to let their guard down. They felt the more eyes watching their backs the better.
As the sun began to rise, their weary suspicion saved their lives as their group were ambushed from all sides.
