Star Hugs
We soon stopped by a Kebab place, where Joseph negotiated with the owner, and as he got our orders, he noticed that the old woman woke up, and started rambling about how she was loyal to Dio, and just then, the Kebab owner took off his hood and shades, while tentacles started coming out from the old woman's eyes, killing her.
The sleezy guy claimed to be taking our lives, while also saying his card is The Lovers, and that his name is Steely Dan.
Polnareff tried to save Enyaba, but she kept ranting how Dio would never do something like this to her and so on, but no matter what everyone did, she still died, not wanting to tell us anything about Dio's Stand.
"Such blind loyalty...That's pretty scary if you ask me." I sighed, feeling a drop of sweat fall down my face.
"What a truly pitiful old woman she was, but the fact that her trust ran so deeply further proves the power of Lord Dio's sinister charm. It seems this lovely lady over here can feel and understand the beautiful malice of Our Lord." he smirked, winking at me and motioning for me to step closer. "Sit down, my dear, I made this coffee just for you." he spoke in a sort of alluring way, but it was creeping me out.
"I...Don't drink coffee." I managed to say, despite my shock.
"Hey, jerk. Quit acting like you're hot shit, get up. We'll kick your ass if that's what it takes." Jotaro threatened, glaring at the brunet man.
"Go ahead, but none of you will be able to lay even a single finger on me, the great Steely Dan." he mused cockily.
"No man who has to say that he's great is ever that amazing. You're just trying to make up for some kind of insecurity or inferiority issues you've been having since childhood." I shrugged, looking away with a bored expression.
Next thing I know, Jotaro ORAs the fuck out of Dan by punching him in the gut, sending him flying, only to find myself flying in the nearest lamp post, then sliding down, in shock, clutching my stomach and coughing blood.
"What the hell was that...?" I managed to speak between coughs.
"Katrina, what happened?!" Kakyoin ran to me, helping me get up.
"They both flew at the same time!" Polnareff pointed out.
"Guys...Run away from here...Especially you, Joseph." I bit my lip in pain, noticing how Dan broke a window wall of a market.
"You idiot! I was still talking! You could have just killed your girlfriend! Listen carefully! Did you really think I appeared before you just to kill Enyaba?" he spit some blood.
"You jerk...Your Stand...You choose someone and whatever damage you take, it goes to the other person too, right?" I asked, feeling a certain sense of dread taking over me.
"The only thing you have to know is that the battle has already begun, babe. You'll never find my Stand, no matter how hard you look." the enemy declared with a smirk.
What happened next is that Dan paid a kid to hit his leg with his broom, and I fell on the ground, squealing in pain, while the others looked at me in worry.
"What the hell?! A simple hit of a broom shouldn't have made me feel this much pain!" I clutched my leg, glaring at the smug man.
"Don't you get it, cutie? My Stand enters the enemy's body! The moment Enyaba died, it entered your brain through your ear!" he shouted with confidence.
"Gaaahhhh! Godamn it, I can already feel it moving around! Take it out, take it out! It's so gross! It's gross like a bug walking on your skin!" my bottom lip was quivering with how disgusting everything was.
"My Stand and I are one and the same. If my Stand is hurt, I will be as well, and vice versa! So, if you as much as scratch me, my Stand will react to my pain and suffering in the exact same moment by going berserk. It will inflict pain several times greater to the same part of your body. I'll say it once more! You will not be able to lay even a finger on me!" he spoke with such confidence, that it was pissing everyone off.
And if it wasn't bad enough, the kid had to hit his legs again...What a brat.
Jotaro was so pissed off that he raised Dan by his sleeve, but somehow, even just that, it made me lose the ability to breath, and Kakyoin had to stop Jotaro from doing anything reckless that could endanger me.
While the jerk was busy taunting Jotaro, I went to Joseph and told him to run away, since he was the oldest, and a Joestar, nonetheless, and I could only imagine that Dio would want to get rid of him the most, but the fuckass punched Joots hard enough to get him on the ground, and he wanted to hit him with a big rock, but by instinct, I tackled the jerk on the ground, obviously getting hurt in the process, but who cares at this point?
"You think I'll just let some sleezy fuck tarnish my friend's pride, just so I won't get hurt? You're dead wrong!" I yelled at him, trying to get up from the ground.
"What a fucking stubborn bitch you are!" he roared in rage, as he took the rock from the ground and hit his head, making me fall and clutch my head in pain.
"Hang in there, Kat, we'll find a solution!" Polnareff shouted as those 3 ran away just as I told them.
"NOT SO FAST, MR. JOESTAR!" Dan hollered as he pointed at the elder man. "I just transferred my Stand to you! Lord Dio wants you, Joestars, dead the most! In addition, the same flesh bud that killed Enyaba is now in your brain, and in just a couple of minutes, it will kill you just the same!" the enemy laughed malefically.
"Kakyoin, I know you can save Joseph! The 3 of you together can do it, trust me! Use your Stands!" I call out after them, motioning for them to run away faster, before the only people remaining were myself, the villain and Jotaro.
"Now, now, babe, that wasn't very nice of you. To think that I couldn't have too much fun with you because you forced my hand with your silly cheap tricks...Tsk, tsk. What a pity. Well, it doesn't matter! Now that my Stand is in Mr. Joestar, Jotaro here couldn't possibly attack me, since he'll kill his own grandpa! Brilliant! And it's all thanks to you, my lady!" he smirked down at me, using manipulating words, but I knew better than to believe them.
"Oh, spare me, you cheap casanova wannabe." I got up, spitting some blood on the ground. "You think I'll let you hurt Joseph? You can go ahead and kill me, and I'll come back to haunt you and you still won't be able to lay your hand on him." I tsked in annoyance, glaring at him.
"And what are you gonna do, babe? Follow me around to the end of the world?" he laughed condescendingly.
"Until they manage to figure out how to get rid of your Stand, that is." I put on a slightly smug face.
"And what if I start taunting your dear Jotaro here? What are you gonna do? Punch me? Strangle me?" he taunted me as he walked towards Jotaro, getting very close to his face.
"Dan, was it? I'll make sure you pay for this." he threatened, but didn't budge.
"If that's why you're following me, maybe I should take out a loan first." he said, as he started pick pocketing Jotaro, taking out his wallet, and speaking about how little money he has, but has a brand watch, before coming over to me once again. "And you, darling? What do you have in your pockets?" his hands wondered around in places, but I could allow myself to slap him, no matter how bad it was.
"You said my pockets, so steal whatever you want, but stop being a lecherous fuck." I growled, stepping back.
"Hmm...What a pity. Ah, you have quite a lot of money, would you look at that! Lots of pounds, very nice!" he took all the money from my wallet before throwing it away.
"You jerk, that's all the money I earned from working at the clinic all day long!" I sneered at him, feeling a sense of dread at seeing my hard-worked money being taken away so easily
"Let's have a romantic walk around the city! A woman shouldn't walk, but take care of her man's needs." he pulled me into his side roughly, and started walking with Jotaro behind us, until we got the a water ditch.
"Don't even think about it..." I muttered in anger, but he was just that diabolic.
"I could try jumping across, but I would risk tripping and twisting my ankle. And walking all the way to the birdge would be a pain...Unless you wanna carry me, darling." he smirked widely at me, and I could already feel my minor scoliosis hurting.
"I-I'm not sure if I can even lift you." I bit my lip, looking away.
"Well, then, whatever should we do? Hmm...Hey, Jotaro, lie down across the ditch and pretend to be a bridge. I'll use you to walk over." Dan eyed Jotaro with a mischievous look, but he said nothing.
"Wh-What?! No, forget that, I'll carry you to the bridge! Come on!" I frowned, grasping his wrist and trying to drag him away from Jotaro, but he was too strong for me, and easily yanked his hand away from my grasp.
"Oh, shut up, you're nothing more than a frail woman, as if you could even be able of carrying me. No, I had a much better change of plans, and it will definitely get me a good laugh! Come one, what's that? Won't you be my bridge?" the greasy jerk pointed towards Jotaro with an irritated look.
"Are you fucking kidding me?" was Jotaro's deadpan answer.
"I SAID PRETEND TO BE A BRIDGE, YOU SPINELESS BASTARD!" he shrieked, hitting his leg on a metal post as hard as he could, making me cringe thinking of poor Joseph.
"That's enough! I'll do it! Just stop hurting Joseph!" I pushed him away from the metal post, but he only glared at me, pushing me into the water.
"Didn't you hear what I just said, you fucking deaf bitch?! I said, I WANT JOTARO TO DO IT! NOT YOU, SOMEONE WITH NO OUNCE OF PRIDE LEFT! I want to step all over him and his pride! Come on already, hurry!" he yelled like a maniac.
That's when Jotaro had no choice but to act as a bridge, and that fucker started jumping all over his spine and hands, and it pissed me off so much that I used my Wind power to push him away from him, without him realising, just so he won't torture the boy so much.
After that, we continued walking, and I used my Water power to get the water off of me, and before I notice, Jotaro was scratching the idiot's back.
How annoying.
"Awe, babe, what is that, you're no longer wet for me?" he smirked, before turning to walk ahead.
"How vulgar...Just you wait..." I sneered, barely audible, before holding and squeezing Jotaro's hand for a few seconds, as a way to reassure him that everything will be okay.
"Hey, Jotaro, come on. Kneel down in front of me and use your handkerchief to polish my shoes!" it took a bit of persuasion, but that's exactly what happened, and if it wasn't bad enough, the jerk even kicked him in the face really hard. "I'm in such a great mood right now! I want you to shine my shoes until they're as bright as I am happy! I want to see the sunlight reflect off them! You can use your uniform to shine them if you want. Actually, maybe you should just lick them clean?" Dan kept rambling here and there.
"Jeez, you're so disgusting. Why'd you want slobber all over your shoes? Gross." I shuddered, cringing at the thought, as Jotaro got up and started writing in his little agenda.
"Hey, bastard! The hell are you writing?!" he hollered, snatching away the agenda.
"Just what you owe me. I'll make sure you pay it. I tend to forget things, so I'm making a memo." Jotaro smirked smugly, knowing full well that we'd win this.
"Jotaro, you bastard...!" he sneered, before smirking and back-slapping me, making me walk backwards a few steps.
"What was that for?!" I wiped the blood from my lip with the back of my hand, glaring at him.
"It's obvious how your pride works for the two of you, so it's much more fun mocking you like this. Besides, I wonder how he'd react if I do this!" he shouted, before grabbing me by my blouse and slamming his lips into mine aggressively, making me gasp and stand paralysed, much too shocked at what just happened. "Say something! Get angry! Cry! Try to hit me! DO SOMETHING!" he shook me by my shoulders, but my brain was completely shut down. "What the hell is wrong with you?! Jotaro, why aren't you saying anything?! Did I just steal her first kiss? Did you want that to be you?!" he kept trying to taunt us desperately, but I could only spit on the ground.
"How disgusting...Your breath stinks, just like you reek of sweat and cheap perfume. Your lips are chapped, you have no idea how to kiss...And you have the audacity to think something like that. No wonder you have to praise yourself, it's clear that nobody does it. You're a nobody, a talentless normie, and that's pretty obvious. I'm going to burn you alive, you and your stupidly greasy and possibly never-washed hair. You think Jotaro's the only one with a long agenda? Wait until you see mine...And you have no idea what I'm capable off." I spoke in a low voice, chuckling darkly with a wide smirk, before I got slapped once again, this time even harder than before.
"SHUT UP, YOU STUPID BITCH! SHUT UP!!!" he shrieked in desperation.
"You know...My biggest fear has always been pain...But now I realised that...I honestly can't feel anything anymore...How amusing...And pretty sad." after saying that, he seemed to go in a frenzy rage and kept hitting me, but I could only chuckle in amusement seeing his desperate face.
"The face of a desperate child wanting to get some sort of recognition, how cute. Come on, Steely Dan, I'm in a good mood. Tell me what you want to do now, before I burn you to crisps and make you regret being born." I smirked widely, wiping away the blood from my face with a handkerchief I hand in my pocket.
This seemed to piss him off greatly, until he spotted a jewelry shop, which is when he told me to stay outside, while he'd go inside with Jotaro only.
I couldn't see what was going on inside, but next thing I know, Jotaro is thrown out of the shop, beaten, bloody and insulted, which made me gasp and rush to his side, trying to help him get up, as Dan walked up to us with some golden bracelet.
That's when Jotaro started getting up, chuckling darkly, saying how happy he is imagining how bad he's going to make him pay for it, which is when Dan kicked Joots down, degrading him and Joseph.
"Nah, I think you're underestimating us. You clearly don't know Kakyoin." he smirked with confidence, which made me gather more strength myself as well, and just then, blood started spurting out of his forehead, which was such a great sign.
"He did it! Cherry Boy scores again!" I grinned, jumping up.
"Looks like Kakyoin finally did some damage. Here's hoping I have time for some personal payback once he's through with you." he smirked in victory.
"Don't forget about my turn!" I cracked my knuckles, ready to punch him real good.
"What's wrong? Why are you stepping back? Why don't you tell me what happened to my grandfather?" Joots taunted him, and as he tried to run away, he caught him by the hair. "Hey, hey, hey, what's got you worked up? You need to be somewhere? You wouldn't be trying to run away, would you? And at a time like this?" he asked rhetorically, as Dan tried to run away so badly that strands of hair were pulled out, and he started bowing on the ground in front of us.
"Please forgive me, Master Jotaro! I admit defeat! I can change! I'll lie on the ground and lick your boots! What I did was awful!" he pleaded, hugging his leg. "You can hit me as much as you want! Punch me! Kick me! But please spare my life!" he literally started licking his boots, making me gag and roll my eyes at him.
"You're worse than leprosy..." I muttered, as Star Platinum easily managed to catch his Stand, squishing it between his fingers, making Dan cry out in agony.
"I figured you were planning something like this. Didn't you know that my Stand, Star Platinum, has perfect eyesight and precise reflexes? Are you sure you did your research on us?" Jotaro asked, which made me chuckle in amusement.
"I-I-I wasn't planning anything! Your Stand's power..." he was writhing on the ground, but Jotaro put his hand to his ear, mocking him.
"YOUR Stand? Just YOUR?" he asked, obviously waiting for a honorific.
"N-No! I-I meant your EXCELLENCY's Stand is more powerful and just than any other! I didn't stand a chance, so it came back!" he kept begging and crying on the ground.
"You've forgotten someone here, how rude of you." the brunet boy continued, having fun.
"N-No, of course I haven't forgotten! How could I forget the beautiful Princess in front of me! Her Majesty's Stand power is magical and too graceful for my commoner's eyes to watch!" he kept crying, which made me laugh.
"You're nothing more than a pitiful cockroach in the trash bin." I shrugged simply.
"That attack broke my arm and leg! I can't fight anymore! I can't move!" he kept pleading, but Joots kept squishing the Stand.
"Well, I guess for your payment, I'll take your arm and leg. Do you swear you'll never show your ugly face to us again?" Jotaro asked, yet it was obvious he was still toying with him.
"I do! I do! I'll go to some deserted island! I'll go to the ends of the earth and never come back!" he tried to promise, but I was getting impatient.
"Wait, hold up, I wanna have my fun too! That's not fair!" I looked at Jotaro, as he released his Stand and turned around, saying Fuck off.
Just then, Dan got up, ranting randomly about how he will kill Jotaro and how his Stand is in the little girl's ear and whatever...But he didn't realise that the Stand had Hierophant's tentacles wrapped around it.
"PLEASE FORGIVE MEEEE!!!" he begged on the ground, but it was so disgusting.
"You should have asked Enyaba if you wanted forgiveness. Forgiving you never even crossed my mind." Jotaro towered over the jerk.
"D-Dio paid me in advance...Y-You can have it all..." he tried to negotiate.
"I mean, you should realise I'm gonna take all your money, seeing that you robbed both myself and Jotaro...But what you did can't be forgiven merely with money...HAMON!" I breathed in, before punching the fuckass with my Hamon as hard as I could, feeling very satisfied with me being the one to do such damage, not my Stand.
After I've had enough of punching, I took out Lilium and had her put his hair and clothes on fire, loving how desperate he looked, shrieking in a pitched voice, rolling around in the sand, trying to put out the fire.
"Jotaro, your turn!" I winked at the boy, who smirked at me and started using Star to Ora Ora the shit outta this fuckass, sending him into a wall, before ripping out the page from his agenda, letting it fly in the wind.
"Yare Yare...Here's your receipt" was his punchline, which made me high-five him, before walking back to the others.
We walked back to where Kakyoin and the others were, then we went to look for a hotel to spend the night, and get some food, since honestly, this whole day was too much for everyone.
After we ate properly, we all went to out room to rest, except for me, who went at Jotaro's to heal him up.
"What a day, huh? What happened there will remain between us, okay? Not a word to anyone." I spoke, taking out my Stand and getting in a cross-legged position in front of Jotaro, as I started working on his arms.
"Good idea." he nodded solemnly. "Are you going to heal yourself?" he asked all of a sudden, which made me look at him in confusion.
"I told you I can't heal myself." I raised my eyebrow in confusion.
"Did you even try?" he asked sternly, which made me look away, biting my lip.
"Okay, you got me. I never actually got injured, so I had no reason or opportunity to even try. I was going to try it once I finished with you." I confessed, closing my eyes for a second.
"You can try it here, now. I'm not that injured and it's nothing severe in any way. A few bruises is no big deal." he explained, grasping my wrist gingerly, taking it away from his face.
"My injuries are no different than yours, the most I can do is maybe make sure there's no bruising." I muttered, looking at him in confusion.
"That's a beginning. Also, I noticed that the way you punch is bad and you could hurt yourself. It's obvious that you have no past experience at being violent, so let me teach you." he suggested, which made me widen my eyes in surprise.
"I...I guess that could work? And...I'm not sure when I'd actually need to get violent, I honestly just wanted to get proper revenge on that guy, but...Guess it couldn't be too bad." I shrugged, getting up and walking in front of the mirror. "Huh...He really did me good." I muttered in annoyance.
Sighing, I gingerly touch the swollen places on my face, focusing really hard on making Lilium send the water molecules through my skin, into the blood stream, to the place where it was supposed to heal, so it would accelerate the process, and so, stop the inflammation and the bruising.
I didn't realise how long it took, but in the end, the swelling regressed and the skin looked as new.
"Huh, would you look at that. It seems I was scared for nothing. Well, I sure hope nothing like that will happen any time soon, I'm not exactly fond of getting beaten up again." I hummed in amusement, working on the other spots on my face, before stretching and cracking my joints. "That was pretty refreshing." I looked back at Jotaro, who was looking at me from the bed with a confident smile.
"I told you it would work." he nodded at me.
"Yes, you did, and for that, I thank you. Now, about the whole fighting thing...What do we do?" I tilted my head, crossing my arms, seeing him get up.
"We go outside and practise." he put his arm around my shoulder, guiding me outside, and we walked to a place with no people or buildings around. "This should be far enough. First, show me how hard you can punch." he explained, stepping in front of me, 1 meter apart.
"And...How should I do that?" I asked, frowning.
"Punch me as hard as you can." he spoke as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"Wh-What?! I couldn't possibly do that! Especially not after this day! I mean, you probably won't feel anything more than a cat bumping her head into you, but even so, that goes against my morals!" I hugged my hands close to my chest, looking at Jotaro with a sort of frightened expression.
"And how else do you except to learn how to fight?" he asked, starting to get irritated.
"I-I don't know, with a dummy made of earth that I could do, maybe?! Not by hurting you!" I tried to protest, but he came in front of me, grasping my wrists with a bit more force than he might have realised.
"You can't learn much by hitting dirt! Don't be a lame woman and disappoint me." he spoke in a darker voice, which made me start to breathe harder and freak out.
"L-Let go of me, please..." I muttered, barely audible.
"What are you saying?" he asked, raising his eyebrow in confusion.
"I don't want to freak out in front of you, so just let me go." I managed to speak a bit louder, despite my voice breaking.
"What's gotten into you? You reacted like this when that bastard kissed you as well." he spoke assertively, trying to understand what was going on, but I started trashing around, trying to yank my hands from his grasp, but he was much to powerful for me.
"Calm down, Katrina, what the hell is going on?" he asked, turning me around and hugging me to his chest.
"Bad experiences and PTSD, that's all." I muttered, feeling how my body was shaking softly.
"You know I would do nothing to hurt you, right?" he asked, to which I could only nod. "Then calm down. If it makes you feel better, you can even talk. I won't judge." he spoke in a gentle yet stern voice, loosening his grip on me.
"I am the Sun...That's what they've always said...So that's what I chose to aspire to become. I never realised how bad that was, until it already happened. And now, nothing can approach me, or it gets burnt. That's how it's always been...How pathetic. So I choose to hide behind my rays to avoid getting hurt. Isn't that pathetic, Jotaro? I'm sure you believe that as well. You can say it, I won't mind. It's not like you'd be the only person to say it." I sighed, hanging my head.
"I just said I wouldn't judge. I keep my promises. So, who said that to you?" he asked, letting me lean on his chest.
"Everyone, Jotaro. Everyone. At first, my parents, my grandparents...Joseph and Suzie too...And it was nice at first. Everyone said I'd become the Sun because I was intelligent, sweet and beautiful. They said I was special. The Sun is special too...People admire it, people need it...But they can't even look at it, nor approach it. And that's exactly what happened to me. My father left, my mother killed herself, my sister hates me, my then-boyfriend abused me, my friends were actually using me...So I accepted my fate. It all became so much that I completely stopped feeling altogether...Which is why I was shocked when I didn't feel any pain today. It's all such a pitiful sob story that I'm ashamed it exists. It's so stupid." I shook my head in disdain, gritting my teeth in anger.
"Life has been cruel to you. Perhaps you ought to change how you fight against all this." he rested his chin on top of my head.
"What does it matter anyway? I'm gonna die soon and it will all disappear. Once I realised that being the Sun wasn't as great as everyone kept claiming, I realised I had no future. I was fated to be alone forever, just like the Sun...So...So I accepted my fate. I will die soon. That's how it was supposed to be from the very beginning. But I don't mind...It won't be such a bad death, after all." I could feel a knot hitch in my throat saying that, yet outside, I was smiling.
"Nobody knows when they're going to die, Katrina. And fate is nothing more than a bullshit term that binds you and keeps you close-minded to the future." he replied, but I could only chuckle weakly.
"Did you know that my great-uncle died to save Jojo?...Joseph, your grandpa?" I asked softly.
"No." he deadpanned.
"Did you know that Caesar's grandpa died to save Jojo?...Joseph's grandpa?" I asked once again, and the answer was the same.
"What are you getting at?" he asked impatiently.
"A Zeppeli's fate is to die to save their JoJo. I've known that for a long time. I've known that since grandma and Joseph told me their stories from their battle with the Pillar Men. Caesar was only 19 when he died...And so am I...And Jotaro...Right now, you are my JoJo." I spoke in a gentle tone, but it seemed to irritate the man, for he tsked loudly, turning me to look at him.
"Don't be stupid. Just because 2 men from your bloodline died, doesn't mean so will you. I won't accept you dying for my sake." he glared at me.
"You can't stop the inevitable...JoJo. And besides, it's not your choice, it's mine. I've made it years ago, when I first met you. You were so cute back then...I knew I couldn't let anything happen to you. If I can't have a proper family, then at least you should have that chance. Holly is such a sweet person, you know? I wish I had a mother like her too. Holly would never do what my mother did. Holly loves you with all her being...So please, respect her." I smiled at him sadly, holding his hands.
"You've never called me JoJo before. Why?" he asked, raising his eyebrow.
"Ah..Well...I just really like the sound of your name." I hummed in amusement, feeling my cheeks becoming slightly rosy.
"Tsk...Whatever. Listen, Katrina, I don't care what happened in the past, but it should remain there. You won't die, I won't die, mother won't die. I'm a man of my words. And I don't give a fuck if you think you're the Sun or whatever bullshit others kept telling you, but you are Katrina. That's it. I'm not burning or whatever the hell you kept saying just now, got it?" he spoke sternly, making me widen my eyes in surprise, before I let out an amused exhale, looking down with a grateful smile, squeezing his hands.
"That was a pretty refreshing outlook on life, I quite like it. Thank you, Jotaro. I owe you." I smiled up at him, but just then, he took his hands from mine and put them on my face, kissing my forehead softly.
"Live. That's what you owe me. Promise me you will live." he spoke in a voice softer than never before, which shocked me, but it made my heart skip a few beats.
"Okay...I promise I will try." I nodded, putting my hands over his gingerly.
"Then, let me teach you how to fight, and after that, you can tell me about that one time we met." he suggested, stepping back from me.
"That's a deal. But...Are you sure you're okay with me hitting you?" I asked, biting my lip.
"You think I would even feel if a Kitten were to hit me? Don't kid me." he smirked playfully.
"Okay, fine, you asked for it." I nodded with a giggle, approaching him and punching his chest...Before taking back my hand and holding it too my chest. "I think I can safely say that that hurt me more than it hurt you." I massaged my hand, as I noticed him smirking and tipping his hat.
"Yare Yare Daze...I was right, a Kitten like you can't hurt me. Your stance is all wrong, for starters. You even hold your first wrong. Here, let me show you." he said, getting behind me and guiding my arms and legs for the posture, then showed me how to hold my hands the right way. "Okay, Kitten, try again." he signaled for me to try again, but as I was ready to hit him, he side-stepped, which made me lose balance and almost fall, if it wasn't for him catching me.
"How rude!" I laughed, regaining my posture. "Is this how you're teaching me, Cute-aro? Well, if that's how you play, then so will I." I smirked, before I lunged at him, trying to get in range to hit him, but next thing I know, he grasps my arm and hit my legs, making me fall to the ground.
"Yare Yare...Stop calling me that, it's annoying." he tsked, looking away.
"But you really are cute! And you can't blame me, it's you who wrote it!" I chuckled, getting up and rubbing my back slightly.
"What did you use back then, when you punched Dan?" he asked, a bit more serious.
"Oh, that? It was Hamon. It's uh...It's actually supposed to be effective against vampires and whatever. It's kind of an energy that acts like a water ripple and it uhm...It has to do with your breathing. I'm actually not very sure how to explain, since Joseph's explanation was...Well, very Joseph, to say the least, but...It's compared to the energy of the Sun." I answered sheepishly, scratching the back of my neck.
"Going on about the Sun again? How annoying. Anyway, use that on me. Let's see how powerful it can get." he said, which made me jaw drop.
"No, no, no, no! You saw what happened to Dan, I couldn't possibly do that to you! It'd be horrible!" I walked backwards slightly, but he only looked at me with a Really look.
"I have to understand the extent of your Strength, otherwise I can't train you properly. Your capacity of using Hamon could be a great asset in the future." he explained, which made me sigh, before regaining my posture.
"Fine, but we're done after this. Also, don't move, if you want to see the full extent of it, capiche?" I took a deep breath, relaxed my senses, before launching myself with the most powerful Hamon I could muster, hitting Jotaro's abdomen, which sent him flying very far away. "OH NO! JOTARO! I'M SO SORRY! OH MY GOD, WHAT DID I DO?!" I yelled as I ran towards him at full speed, helping him get up.
"That...Wasn't a Kitten bump anymore." he smirked slightly, getting up. "That was great. We can work with that. Let's go back to the hotel." he suggested, getting up and starting to walk ahead.
I took out Lilium and made her sneak up behind him as I walked by his side, and just as she was about to use her tail to trip him, Star Platinum came out, and hugged her, letting all 3 of us speechless.
"That's...The cutest thing I've ever seen in my life." I muttered, walking towards the 2 Stands.
"Star hasn't come out on his own like that in a while." Jotaro stared curiously.
"He looks so relaxed and content...And Lilium too, she's smiling. Awwww, they're so cute, I can't even." I gushed over how cute they were, before Star came to hug me, and Lilium hugged Jotaro.
"What the...?" was the only thing Joots could manage to say out loud.
"Star's hugs are so nice, I can't believe it!" I hyped up, throwing my arms around him, nudging my head like a cat would.
"You're starting to look more and more like a Kitten." he chuckled, patting Lilium's arm in acknowledgement.
"Let's go back, we've fooled around enough." he chuckled, calling back his Stand, so I did the same.
We went back to his room after getting something to eat and drink, and sitting on the bed, leaning on the wall, we started chatting.
"So...About that time...Do you remember that day when your birthday was on a school day? And you tripped and you thought it was one of your classmates and you started beating him up?" I asked, fidgeting with my fingers in my lap.
"I...Think I do." he grunted, taking off his hat and jacket, getting comfortable.
"I...Was the one who tripped you." I giggled, looking down in embarrassment.
"Huh?" he turned to look at me with a confused expression, which only made me bite my lip in amusement.
"You were being kinda a jerk to me when I brought you the bento that Holly made for you and you forgot to take it...And I used Lilium's long tail to trip you. I wasn't expecting you to fall like a whale over the desk and take it down with you." I covered my face with my hands, trying to stifle my laugh, as my cheeks became red.
"You were the bigger jerk, the way I see it now." he let out an amused breath.
"When you got home, I and Holly already finished your birthday cake, and you were such a grumpy cat, but you were so cute and Holly was so happy that you liked the cake. And then she took us to that horror movie at the cinema, and the people at the tickets were looking at us weirdly since it was a +18 horror movie, but Holly just smiled and got us through." I continued the story, not being able to stop grinning.
"Nightmare on elm street...Was it?" he spoke in a lower voice, which made me snap my gaze at him.
"You remember!" I gleamed at him.
"Yeah, because it was so lame." he smirked, which made me snort in amusement.
"All horror movies are pretty lame, but we made fun of it, so it was fun!" I continue, as he nodded in approval.
"I guess it wasn't such a bad birthday." he shrugged, trying to look cool.
"Stop trying to look so cool in front of me after what happened in that classroom. I can't erase that imagine from my mind, and I will always tease you about it...Cute-aro." I winked at him shamelessly.
"Yare Yare...You're so annoying." he said, yet his eyes were smiling.
"Did I ever tell you that whenever you look so confident and say your punchline, I'm always reassured that things will turn out okay?" I rest my jaw on my hand, side-watching him.
"Oh, really?" he asks, mimicking my gesture.
"Yeah. I'm not sure how to explain it, but...It's sort of inspiring. Like how leaders say some inspiring long speech to get the soldiers going? Kinda like that, but more effective." I explain simply. "Your Stand...The Star...That card is related to inspiring others, to finding hope and faith and feeling blessed by the universe. I think it really suits you, Jotaro." I smile softly at him, earning a grunt.
"Whatever, I don't know much about the whole Tarot card thing, nor do I care much. As long as I do my job, it doesn't matter to me." he shrugged, despite liking what he was hearing.
"You grew up into a fine man, Jotaro. Even in these few years apart, you grew up very nicely, it's almost nostalgic how you used to be such a munchkin, and now...Look at you." I hummed in amusement. "I...Tried to trip you today, the same as I did back then. That why Star came out. But it wasn't going to hurt Lilium, since she's not an enemy. That's why he hugged her...I can't pull the same trick on you twice, huh, Jotaro? Pretty sad, don't you think?" I smiled sadly, my emerald eyes looking into his aquamarine eyes, seeing surprise in them.
"Tsk, how silly. Everyone grows up, it's normal...And you sound like an old woman." he taunted back, but I could only nod.
"Yeah, I know, I've been told that before. I can't help it, it was a really nice day." I shrugged, leaning back on the wall.
"I guess it was." he nodded, letting a comfortable silence take over us.
It didn't take long before we went to sleep to regain our energy, rest properly and get ready to tackle a new day and new enemy Stands, and get closer to our goal of saving Holly and defeating Dio.
