The next morning, Lucia woke up to the sound of birds chirping outside her window. She stretched and sat up, still not fully used to waking up in Yuna’s body. The sunlight streaming through the curtains felt warm and comforting, a stark contrast to the heavy memories of the future she had left behind. Today, she decided, she would try to embrace this second chance and the life that came with it.

As she got dressed, there was a knock on her door. “Yuna, are you awake?” It was Jin, his voice gentle but firm.
“Yes, come in,” Lucia said, smoothing the fabric of her dress. She had chosen a light blue gown, simple but elegant, hoping it would help her feel more like herself—or rather, more like Yuna.
Jin entered with a warm smile. “Good morning. The others are already in the garden. Hoseok has something planned, and you know how he gets when we’re late.”

Lucia couldn’t help but smile. “I’ll be right there.”

The garden was alive with laughter and the scent of blooming flowers. A long table was set up under a bunch of trees, where her brothers were already gathered. Hoseok was arranging plates with an excited energy, while Jimin and Jungkook were playfully arguing over who had won their morning sword match.

“Yuna!” Jungkook called out, waving her over. “Come sit with us. Jimin’s just mad because I beat him again.”

“In your dreams,” Jimin shot back, but his grin showed he wasn’t really upset.
Lucia joined them, her heart warming at their easy camaraderie. This was what she had missed in her own life—a family, people who cared deeply for each other. As she sat down, Taehyung placed a plate of pastries in front of her.

“Try these,” he said with a wink.

“Hoseok’s been bragging about them all morning.”

“They’re perfect, of course,” Hoseok said, pretending to be offended. “But don’t take my word for it. Go on, Yuna, have one.”

Lucia picked up a pastry and took a bite. The sweetness melted in her mouth, and she couldn’t help but smile. “It’s delicious,” she said sincerely, making Hoseok beam with pride.

As the morning went on, Lucia found herself relaxing. The brothers’ teasing and laughter were infectious, and for a while, she forgot about the dark future she had witnessed. She even joined in on their jokes, surprising them with her quick wit.

“Look at you, Yuna,” Namjoon said with a soft smile. “It’s been a while since you’ve been this lively.”

Lucia hesitated for a moment, then decided to be honest, at least partially. “I’ve realized how lucky I am to have all of you,” she said, her voice steady but filled with emotion.

The brothers exchanged surprised glances but didn’t question her. Instead, Jin reached over and gave her hand a reassuring squeeze. “We’re lucky to have you too.”

The rest of the day was spent playing. The palace was abuzz with activity, servants decorating the halls and courtyards with lanterns and flowers. Lucia joined her brothers , learning more about their individual roles in the kingdom.

Later the siblings went to a fair to play some games and have fun.

“Come on, Yuna, try this one,” Jungkook said, dragging her to a ring-toss game.

“Let’s see if you’re as good as me.”
Lucia laughed but accepted the challenge. She wasn’t very skilled, but the brothers’ encouragement made it fun. When she finally managed to land a ring, they cheered as if she had won a grand prize.

By the time evening came, Lucia was exhausted but happy. She stood on the balcony of her room, looking out at the palace grounds now glowing with lanterns. For the first time since waking up in this world, she felt a sense of peace. These moments, these bonds—they were worth fighting for.

As the stars began to appear in the sky, there was a soft knock on her door. “Come in,” she said, turning to see Jin.

He stepped onto the balcony, joining her in the cool night air. “I just wanted to check on you. You seemed... different today. Happier.”

Lucia nodded, her gaze returning to the stars. “I’ve been thinking a lot. About how precious this time is. I don’t want to take it for granted.”

Jin studied her for a moment, then smiled. “Whatever it is you’re going through, just remember—you’re not alone. We’re here for you.”

His words touched something deep within her, and she felt a lump in her throat. “Thank you,” she whispered, her voice barely audible.

Jin placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder before leaving her to her thoughts. As the door closed behind him, Lucia made a silent vow. She would protect her family, no matter what it took. The shadows of the future would not claim them—not while she had the power to change it.
