Ch.19 Dark Crescent Moon

The soft light burned the back of Luna's eyeballs as everything before started to come back to her. Voices filled her eardrums as they sounded as if everything was under the sea.

"I-I can't believe it. A-are daughter... with us... I knew to never lose hope."

"I'm am glad myself darling. But we should tell the kingdom pieces at a time. This will be a shock to most people as the kingdom of Dakmight might not believe us."

"Why do you say that?" The women sounding voice said. Her voice sounded as soft as silk.

"Because we told are people we had given up hope and would give them a new air to the throne. Doesn't it sound weird? A girl just comes to a ball, trying to kill me while at it, then we say she is the lost princess. Think about this Amber."

The name ring inside Luna's ear as she remembered hearing the name before. Twice maybe. Her brain trying to work the gears over as the voices continued to talk.

"I have been thinking about this, Robin," The voice said in a half shout. "I was thinking the same thing, but we can't give away the secret of the royal symbol of are family."

"Well if you don't have an idea then I don't either." The rough voice as the weight shifted on the soft feeling under Luna. A bed she was on? It was the softest thing Luna had ever felt in her life. It was like sleeping on a cloud like the angels did.

"I just don't understand why she tried to kill you, Robin. It shocked me too much to move and take action." The voice hitched with a break of a sob. "I felt so weak... I couldn't do anything to help save you!"

"Amber... " The voice trail off as another weight to the bed was added. "I would rather have myself die than you get hurt. I've loved you longer that you've thought. The first day I met you was when I fell in love with you and swore to protect you with my life; even if you didn't ask me too."

A hiccup broke out as sniffles were heard. "I-I love you so much..."

"I love you too, my sweet."

Every senses were in control again as Luna opened her eyes as her heart jump straight out of her chest. It was the Emperor and Empress. No wonder the name sounded so familiar to her. As if sensing violet eyes watching them, the Empress raised her head and locked eye contact with her.

Shock filled her face before washing it away with happiness as she quickly embraced Luna into her hug. Despite the warm coming from her 'mother', she did feel cold and stiffened up everywhere. Luna had ever had a hug this long before as it seem like a million year before the Empress pulled back.

"Luna! You're awake! My sweet baby princess..."

She when to touch Luna's hair, until Luna slapped her hand away. Her mother stared at her with shock and confusion as Luna backed away from her.

"D-Don't touch me!" Luna said as her throat felt terribly sore.

"B-But why...?" Her mother's eyes filing with deep hurt into a copy of Luna's own violet eyes.

"B-because you're a stranger! Telling me like you're my parents! My mother is dead and my father is my real father! Not a liar."

The women's face looked almost so broken from her words that if she could blow into it, it could drifted away like sand. For the first time the Emperor stood up as she gently touched his wife's shoulder.

"That's enough, Luna. We're your real parents. The ones you knew probably are the kidnappers who took you away from us."

Rage grasped onto her as she stood up a bit while trying not to fall from her dizziness. "My father raised me to be a Demon Killer. I will not stand here and let you spill out lies in front of my real parent."

His eyes furrowed with anger. "That man who you've know all your life is a lie, Luna. He isn't your real father. His lies have poisoned your mind, and it's taken control over your sense of wrong and right!"

"SHUT UP! YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT ME!"

Quick as lighting, her father moved over and pinned her down to the bed. A gasp of surprise escaped her mother's lips as Luna scratched at him. "Let me go!" She yelled while he threw her hair over and jab at a spot at her throat.

Luna almost gagged for air as the spot burned like fire. She felt it course through her vein's with power so unbearably with pain. Luna screamed as tears spilled from her eyes as she heard the panicked voice of her mother barely over her screaming.

She couldn't believe all this. Her father wasn't lie, these people where. She couldn't even be a princess; it was too unbelievable to even think of. A mutter of cursed spilled from her father's mouth as he pulled back, gasping for air as Luna held her throat and started coughing up blood.

She felt warm small hand over her back rubbing it as her throat now felt like metal.

"Damn it! I can't undo the curse on her symbol!"

The world seemed to stop as her raspy breathing was the only thing she could hear.

"A-A curse...?" Luna said with a tiny cough.

"Yes... This explains why you can't remember us. To undo a curse the one who put it there is the one to reverse it."

Luna looked up at both her parents in the eyes, a coldness so deep even she didn't think could come from her. "I'm not telling you were my father lives."
